The airport was bustling with people, and a woman's sweet voice was announcing flights over the intercom.
When the plane from California landed in City A, the passengers rushed out.
A slender girl pulled her suitcase out of the passage. She wore a T-shirt with English letters printed on it and a dark blue pencil skirt. Her naturally wavy hair was tied into a ponytail.
Her skin was very fair, and her tall, slender figure, combined with her clean and serene demeanor, made her stand out in the crowd.
Old Wang, who had come to pick her up, spotted her at once and hurriedly took her suitcase: "Miss Second."
Shen Youran glanced around and saw no one else had come to pick her up besides Old Wang. She smiled bitterly.
Perhaps she had been abroad for too long, so long that no one remembered her, Shen Youran.
But it didn't matter; everything would take time.
After leaving the airport, Shen Youran got into the car and closed her eyes to rest. Old Wang put the suitcase in the trunk, opened the car door, and sat in the driver's seat. Seeing her with her eyes closed, he hesitated to speak.
Before he left, the elder Miss had instructed him to take the second Miss to the Gu family for dinner, but he needed to ask the second Miss for her opinion.
Thinking she was asleep, he didn't say anything and started the car, merging into the traffic.
After a flight of over ten hours, Shen Youran was drowsy as soon as she got in the car. She was woken up by a loud honk after a short while.
Seeing the car had stopped, she looked out the window. They were in the heart of the city, where the bustling streets were crowded with people, and tall buildings stood majestically in the sunlight.
She rubbed her tired eyes and asked, "Uncle Wang, what's going on?"
Old Wang looked at her in the rearview mirror and said, "Miss Second, this road is often congested. You can sleep a bit more; I'll wake you when we arrive."
Shen Youran's sleep was very light, and once she was woken up, she couldn't fall back asleep.
The car in front moved a bit and then stopped, and Old Wang followed suit, inching forward.
After about half an hour, Shen Youran lost her patience. When the car in front started moving again, she asked Old Wang to overtake it.
Old Wang, the Shen family's longtime driver, had good driving skills and followed Shen Youran's instructions to overtake several cars.
A Maybach seemed to be in a hurry and was also overtaking frequently. Old Wang, being careless, rear-ended it. Fortunately, the speed was not high, and no one was injured, but the other car was damaged.
Old Wang's face turned pale with fear, and he stammered, "Miss... Miss, what should we do?"
The owner of the car looked wealthy and influential, and the unique license plate suggested someone not to be trifled with.
Shen Youran frowned slightly, pursed her lips, and got out of the car. She walked up and knocked on the other car's window.
The man in the driver's seat was unbuckling his seatbelt, preparing to check the car's condition. Hearing someone knock on the window, he looked up and saw Shen Youran through the window.
He slowly lowered the window. Before he could speak, Shen Youran said, "Do you have paper and a pen?"
Xiao Cheng was puzzled and looked at her blankly. It wasn't until Shen Youran repeated, "Do you have paper and a pen?" that he came to his senses and handed her the items.
He had seen this girl get out of the car behind him in the rearview mirror and assumed she was the one responsible for the accident.
Shen Youran skillfully wrote down a phone number and a name.
Perhaps because it was so deeply ingrained, even after three years, she could recite the person's phone number by heart.
