Chapter 19

Having achieved the number one spot on the Low Fantasy Weekly Rankings, I'm posting three episodes today. (First one)
I'll post four episodes tomorrow as well.
"Ah, I'm so tired. This was the first time I've ever experienced such a scorching battle... I need sugar... I need sugar..."
I lay down with my eyes closed, utterly exhausted.
My body was screaming, but not from pain—it was from fatigue.
In this battle, I ran through the forest countless times, but thanks to my high 'Toughness,' I didn't receive any cuts. Moreover, I didn't get hit directly by the 'Murder Rabbit.'
Was it because of my good 'Luck,' or was it due to my tactics? I can't really tell.
"Ah, I wouldn't mind gnawing on a lump of sugar right now..."
My thoughts were drifting in strange directions due to the extreme fatigue. But this is a dungeon. Even though there are no monsters in the forest right now, it's probably because they're afraid of rare monsters.
I can't stay here forever.
The monsters ran away just by seeing the smoke. If that's the case, the reason there were no monsters in this forest must be because of that guy. The rare monster that was the cause of all this must have died, and soon, this forest will become a paradise for monsters again.
It seems that this 'Auto Mapping' skill only writes down areas that are within my line of sight in this layer.
Therefore, in this forest with poor visibility, the mapping only worked effectively in a small area. But fortunately, during the game of tag, I had unknowingly circled the entire forest.
So if the monsters come back, I should be able to detect them immediately.
Still, for them to run away even from smoke... Do they fear it in a way that we humans can't perceive?
"Huh? Smoke?"
I felt like I was forgetting something and slowly got up.
There, the smoke that had overflowed from the giant rabbit still lingered...
"Ugh!!"
I remembered the bomb and quickly got up.
However, as soon as I stood up, the smoke dispersed. It seems the giant rabbit had released all its smoke.
"Ah, thank goodness. I was so tired I almost forgot. Right, the next one might appear. What was I thinking, lying down so calmly... Still, I must have been deep in thought for a while. The smoke must have been coming out for a long time. That must mean it was really big, huh?"
That guy had a body like a giant boar. But the 'Hobgoblin' was about the same size. The difference was that it was 10 levels higher. ...Maybe it takes longer to disappear based on the level. I need to verify this. Maybe I should bring a timer next time.
"Anyway, let's start with the drops. I'll appraise them as I go."
1: 'Twisted Horn of Murder Rabbit' x2
2: 'Murder Rabbit Fur'
3: 'Medium Magic Stone'
4: 'Skill: Swift'
"Swift, huh. With this, it might be easier to fight again... Ah, I should check if it's on the 'Dungeon Communication Network App.' Let's see, 'Swift,' 'Swift'... Oh, there it is."
'When used, this skill allows the user to move three times faster than usual. Additionally, a running start can further increase speed, but the user's body must be tough enough to handle it. Market price: 60 million to 80 million.'
I closed the app after seeing the price. It was clearly more expensive than 'Brute Strength.'
If I submit this, the branch manager will probably approve my exclusive contract with Maki. But fighting that guy again without this skill would be really tough, even with steel equipment.
Using the gacha might make it a bit easier, but to keep up with his speed, I'd probably have to use the same tactics without the skill...
"Thinking about it won't give me an answer. Let's just spin the gacha for now."
I put the skill on hold, allocated all my 'SP' to 'Luck,' and pressed '10 Gacha' twice.

'Box remaining: 10/100'
"Water magic this time. It's intriguing, but I'm really tired. I want to go home... but I'm almost done with the gacha... and I'm at level 5 now..."
To be honest, my brain is demanding sugar. But my heart is screaming that I want to see what comes next.
Fortunately, my stats are even higher than before. My strength is 90. It should be around the level of a typical level 20-30 character.
Well, even after spinning the gacha so much, my stats are only a bit better than those stalkers, which is depressing... But with the skills, I should have an advantage over other adventurers. That's for sure.
"Then, to reach even greater heights, I'll finish the gacha. Having 10 left feels kind of unsettling anyway."
In the end, I abandoned the option of going home and decided to level up. My usual sword is no longer usable, but fortunately, I have the 'Iron Knife' from the goblin drop. It's a bit of a hassle, but I can manage.
I was practicing with the knife to get used to it, but strangely, no monsters returned to the forest. So I decided to focus on hunting goblins and killer rabbits in the river and plains, changing targets appropriately to avoid killing 100 in a row.
