And so, upon arriving at the luxurious villa, Rain took a moment to rest in the room assigned to him.
"Ah, I'm so tired~"
"Welcome back, Master Rain."
Sukuna called out to him.
"Oh~..."
He could only manage a casual response.
(Almost got caught with my secret, damn, what a surprise attack.)
He grumbled to himself.
"The party is in two days, so we have a free day tomorrow, Sukuna. I'll be relying on you and Aina to guard me."
"That won't do! If anything were to happen to you! This is a duchy..."
"We can't have several knights following us around, can we?"
"Well, at least two knights..."
"No, I don't like that. I have the Divine Speed, so I can escape quickly if anything happens."
"...Is that so? I understand. I'll make the preparations."
"Thank you. I'm going to sleep now because I'm tired. I don't need dinner. Please tell Father and the chef."
"Yes, I'll take care of it."
With that, she left the room, and he lay down on the futon, closing his eyes.
Incidentally, they had agreed to use formal speech until he turned ten.
That night, he slept soundly due to his fatigue and woke up relatively easily the next morning.
While yawning, he heard a knock on the door.
"Master Rain, are you awake?"
"Yes, I'm up."
"Then I'll come in."
Click.
"Thank you for your trouble."
"You're welcome. Breakfast is ready."
"Got it, I'll be right there."
After getting ready, he ate breakfast and had a brief conversation with his mother about the events of the previous day and his physical condition before returning to his room.
There, he found Sukuna, Aina, and a maid.
"…Why are you here?"
"I heard that Master Rain plans to go sightseeing in the city with these two."
"You told them?"
"Yes. Since you didn't specifically tell me not to, I also informed Lady."
"Lady also ordered me to accompany you, so I will be joining you."
"Ugh..."
As usual, the maid was always getting in the way.
With no choice, he got ready and asked his mother for ten gold coins.
"Alright, let's explore the capital!"
He had a rough map in his head, and with his Divine Eye, he wouldn't get lost easily.
(I'll keep the Divine Eye on just in case.)
He usually kept it on because once, after using it for three days straight, he felt a severe dizziness when he tried to use his normal eyes.
So, he usually used both eyes.
They sneaked out through the back gate and took a roundabout route to the main street.
"Looking around on my own feet, it's truly magnificent."
"Yes, I agree."
"Shall we take a look around?"
"Hai!"
They walked down the main street, buying exotic foods and watching street performers.
(There's someone who's been staring at me.)
Using his Divine Eye, he saw that the person's level wasn't significant; he was just a thug.
(Was he sent by the second lady? Or an assassin because I couldn't meet the king? But that's too soon, right?)
He wasn't sure but decided it wasn't a problem and ignored it.
He subtly informed the maid, who only said, "Understood," and raised her alert level.
He didn't need to tell the slaves; he would inform them if the situation escalated.
(Ah, he's gone.)
After a while, the person turned away and disappeared.
(Did he notice my Divine Eye? No way! Then what? Did he give up?)
He remained vigilant.
After sightseeing for a while, they casually walked through the main street and entered a small alley, leaning against a wall to rest.
Suddenly, his Divine Eye showed three men running with a burlap sack. One of them was the person who had been staring at him.
He confirmed that there was someone inside the sack.
Since it was a dead-end alley, they would have to cross the street where he was.
"Maids! Three men will come down that street! It's the guy from before! Sukuna, cast Fireball in five seconds, Aina, prepare Heal."
"Ha!"
They immediately followed his orders, having been well-trained by his mother and the maid.
He took out a custom-made iron extendable bat from his pocket. If the worst came to the worst, he could reattach a severed arm and heal it with the level 8 recovery spell, Ex-Heal.
Sukuna and Aina began their incantations.
"Three, two, one, fire!"
Sukuna cast Fireball at the lead man, and the maid immediately ran forward, delivering a punch to his stomach, followed by a punch to the stomach of the man carrying the sack.
"Ugh! What the, Gah!"
"Ugh!"
They collapsed.
"What, what are you guys! Don't think you'll get away with this!"
(Third-rate villain lines, nice!)
He thought as he delivered a punch to the stomach, powered by his high-level STR and Divine Speed, causing the man to spout fire and collapse.
"Phew, another pointless fight."
Indeed, his strength had already surpassed the maid's, making it easy to knock the man out.
"Master Rain, are you hurt?"
"No! I'm fine. Aina, heal the one with burns. Sukuna, call the guards. What's in that sack?"
"Ha, it's a girl, it seems. What should we do?"
A girl of about the same age, with a rather androgynous and cute face, emerged from the sack.
"Does she look like a noble?"
She immediately woke up and looked at him.
"Hey, did you save me?"
(He's a 'boku' girl!! Woohoo!!!)
He got excited internally.
"Y-Yeah, I did. Well, technically, we did."
She stuttered.
"Thanks, I'm glad. Thank you."
She slightly averted her gaze and only said, "Y-You're welcome."
After observing him for a while, she muttered, "Huh~" and said, "Well, I have to go. Bye~" and left gracefully.
(What? That's it? Isn't that too quick? I think there should be more to it. In a template, at least a cheek pinch would be nice...)
He was a bit taken aback and in a daze when he was called.
"Master Rain, what should we do with these people?"
"Let's hand them over to the guards. I'm kind of tired. Let's go home when the guards arrive."
"Ha."
After a while, the guards arrived, and when he gave his name and family name, they asked a few questions and let him go.
(Ah, I forgot to check her name and appearance.)
The Divine Eye only showed status when he consciously focused on it, and he had been too rushed and taken aback by her attitude to check.
"By the way, Master Rain, you called me a maid."
Ah.
"Well, you see, it's in the b-book! Yes, the book. I just wanted to try it out."
He made a strained excuse and headed back.
