"Sorry, Sir Selu, I believe in the Goddess of Care, and I will not change my faith." Jiang Junming was already accustomed to this kind of response, very politely, even somewhat humbly bowing and saluting.
A commotion broke out, a loud uproar. The young students stared at each other with wide eyes, looking at the old knight Selu, waiting for him to fly into a rage.
Old Knight Selu's temper was not good. Although he had not been punished, many young students already dared not meet the old knight's gaze even when he glanced at them casually. How dare Junming speak to Old Knight Selu like this? Although he was polite, given Old Knight Selu's temper, it would be strange if he did not get angry.
The two old priests, one tall and one short, stood behind Old Knight Selu with a smile, as if they had expected Jiang Junming to say this.
Old Knight Selu's eyes narrowed slightly, the sharp light in his eyes becoming even more piercing, like a knife falling on Jiang Junming. Jiang Junming smiled, looking at Old Knight Selu as if he felt nothing, calmly meeting his gaze.
"From now on, you must run ten laps around here every morning, and there will be other physical training in the future!" Old Knight Selu seemed not to have heard Jiang Junming's refusal, or as if he had never mentioned it to Jiang Junming, looking at the over a hundred young students in front of him and shouting loudly.
To everyone's surprise, Old Knight Selu did not get angry or yell at Jiang Junming, but instead ordered everyone to run ten laps every morning. A chorus of groans filled the air. How could they possibly endure such days? Especially the young students of the priest class, their faces turned even paler, and they even thought about fleeing from the Church Academy. No wonder Old Knight Selu had said at the beginning that the most comfortable days were always yesterday.
"Now, dismiss yourselves. Go back and rest well, and use divine magic to recover." Old Knight Selu finished speaking, turned around, and left without even greeting the two old priests, one tall and one short.
The two old priests glanced at Jiang Junming, and seeing that he had refused Old Knight Selu's invitation to change his faith, they were somewhat pleased.
The young students began to disperse amidst the groans, Tireda walked away in a daze. Idris walked up to Jiang Junming and said with a sincere tone, "Hello, Junming. My name is Idris, and I am a believer in the God of Dawn."
"Hello. My name is Junming, and I am a believer in the Goddess of Care." Jiang Junming heard Idris say his name but still introduced himself politely.
"In the future, we will be classmates in the priest class. If you need any help, just let me know." Idris said.
Jiang Junming found it somewhat amusing. This little girl, like a red butterfly, had flown to him, with a straightforward and adorable personality. But what help could he possibly need? If only she could provide energy to the light brain, Jiang Junming longed to undergo more modifications.
After exchanging a few polite words with Idris, she left, with Peta following her. As she left, Jiang Junming whispered to Peta, "Thank you."
Peta smiled warmly, said nothing, and followed Idris out of the Church Academy.
Jiang Junming stood in the square, seeing that most of the young students had left, and wondered what he should do. His divine magic was indeed too weak, and he wanted to find a priest to teach him. But Priest Ilana had not returned to the Goddess of Care's temple yesterday. Where had she gone? Was there something at the Church Academy that kept her there? Surely Priest Ilana would not skip the Church Academy today.
Thinking about this, Jiang Junming knew what he should do. Find Priest Ilana and ask her to teach him divine magic. But he did not even know where Priest Ilana was in the Church Academy. Suddenly, he saw the two old priests, one tall and one short, leaving, and Jiang Junming quickly followed them.
"Two priests, please wait a moment." Jiang Junming said as he walked quickly.
The two old priests, one tall and one short, were discussing something and turned to look at Jiang Junming when they heard his voice.
"May I ask where Priest Ilana is in the Church Academy?" Jiang Junming did not know how to ask, as a believer in the Goddess of Care, he felt somewhat embarrassed to ask where his own church's priest was.
"Priest Ilana, she's over there." The tall old priest pointed in a direction.
"But I'm not sure if she's there." The short old priest said.
"Thank you, I'll leave you two priests alone." Jiang Junming said respectfully.
The two old priests smiled at Jiang Junming and then turned to leave. Jiang Junming followed the direction the tall old priest had pointed, turned a few corners, and saw a wooden house in a secluded spot, with the words "Medical Room" written on it.
The idea that the Church Academy had a medical room seemed somewhat amusing to Jiang Junming. Whether there was a medical room or not, it probably didn't matter much. Both priests and knights could heal, so there were not many occasions where a medical room would be needed. As Jiang Junming had thought, the medical room where Priest Ilana was located was quiet and silent.
"Priest Ilana, hello, I'm Junming." Jiang Junming knocked on the door and said loudly.
The room was very quiet, and Jiang Junming repeated himself twice. Seeing that no one responded, he thought Priest Ilana was probably not there. He thought of the figure in the black robe, slender and alluring, and wondered where she had gone.
With no other choice, Jiang Junming returned to the Goddess of Care's temple alone. As he left the Church Academy, he walked and looked around, just as he had in the morning. Although he mocked the light brain in his mind, Jiang Junming still subconsciously searched for traces of the pathogenic bacteria the light brain had mentioned. The bustling streets were still bustling, the dilapidated slums were still dilapidated, and the rotten vegetable leaves and dead rats in the sewers were still the same, with no difference at all. Everything was the same as yesterday.
It seemed there were fewer people around than usual, Jiang Junming guessed. But perhaps it was because he had been thinking about the pathogenic bacteria the light brain mentioned, causing a mental projection. Jiang Junming laughed at himself, thinking he was being too sensitive. The light brain had absorbed energy a few times and was just starting to function, so it was inevitable that it would make mistakes, nothing strange about it.
After entering the slums, Jiang Junming felt someone was following him. Taking advantage of a turn, he glanced back and saw that the person following him was dressed like the group of thieves who had abandoned Sula yesterday. Jiang Junming paid close attention, sensing the movements of the thief following him.
