Chapter 7

It has been over eight months since birth.
Since then, the books Ena reads to me have included quite niche titles like "The Complete Collection of Houseplants from Around the World" and "Volume 1 of Flower and Herb Cultivation in the Ovent Kingdom."
It seems that the Ovent Kingdom is the name of this country.
After my first successful release of magic (tentative), Ena, my brother, and my sister brought a large number of such books.
In particular, my brother Theo seemed extremely excited and read to me daily from the books about trees, especially those among the many books he brought.
My sister Ellie looked at her brother with a sigh.
"Theo is really a tree enthusiast. Lily, you should read 'From Today, You Too Can Be a Flower Bed Master' since you like flowers more than trees."
Both of them are quite similar in their own ways.

After hearing that I cheered when Ena read to me, the two of them started reading books about flowers and trees.
It all started when they found out that the book I was reading at the time was "The Complete Collection of Plant Pots from Around the World."
It seems that they, too, are quite fond of flowers and trees.
My brother Theo, in particular, loves all kinds of trees, from conifers to broadleaf, deciduous, and evergreen trees, regardless of their habitat or climate.
This includes ornamental houseplants, and he even reads me niche magazines that are published monthly.
Specifically, titles like "Beginner's Guide to Bonsai, Volume 1" and "The Garden of Green: Pruning Edition."
I thought it was quite Japanese to have bonsai.
As for my sister Ellie, being a girl, she apparently grows flowers in the garden.
Perhaps because of this, the books she reads are biased towards "herbs and flowers."
Not just flowers, but also grass is included in her reading range.
The title of the book she read to me yesterday was "The Complete Collection of Edible Wild Plants: Boiled, Roasted, and Fried."
The book she read before that was a long novel titled "Even a Single Blade of Grass."
Incidentally, it was a two-volume set, and it was quite thick.
The thickness was not ordinary when I touched it.
The content... to be honest, it took three weeks to finish reading the two volumes, and since my focus was on training, I don't remember much.
I clearly remember the part where a single blade of grass growing on a grassland starts to stand on two legs, which was a very unusual beginning.
If my brother is a tree enthusiast, then my sister should be a flower and herb enthusiast.
It's a bit disappointing that such a handsome and super cute young lady has such a hobby.

Even after most of the time with my brother and sister has been spent reading books about trees and flowers, the magic (tentative) training continues.
Since the day I successfully released magic (tentative), the release training has shifted to control training after release. At first, it was quite challenging, but now I can control it to a considerable extent, though not freely.
Controlling the released magic (tentative) is a bit different from when it is connected, and it requires a lot of practice, similar to controlling a remote-controlled toy.
When it is connected, it can be controlled as an extension of my senses, so I was confused by the difference, but once I got used to it, I realized it just required effort.
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆
The amount of magic (tentative) that can be released is limited to the amount released at the time of release.
When connected, I could control it freely within the controllable range as many times as I wanted, but when released, there is a limit, and the number of times I can control it varies depending on the amount released.
Releasing a large amount of magic (tentative) increases the number of times I can control it, while releasing a small amount decreases it.
I cannot release an amount that would result in less than one control, and if I try, it will fail and disappear.
Excited by the success of releasing magic (tentative), I released it repeatedly, resulting in "losing consciousness."
I was being read to by my brother Theo, and he probably thought I had fallen asleep.
When I regained consciousness, I was in the baby bed.
Thinking it needed verification, I immediately and carefully tested it.
The result was that releasing magic (tentative) decreases it.
Even if it decreases, it recovers over time.
After releasing the maximum amount and becoming exhausted, I slept and recovered, then released the same amount again, and found that the total amount of magic (tentative) had increased.
After releasing it once and training to the point of almost losing consciousness, the total amount of magic (tentative) did not change... probably.
Since I did not quantify it, it might have increased by the amount of one release.
The increase might have been so small that it felt like there was no change.
In any case, with so few tests, I realized that I couldn't draw any conclusions yet.
The important thing is that releasing magic (tentative) repeatedly increases the total amount of magic (tentative) and the amount that can be released.
Increasing the amount that can be released is good.
Being able to increase the number of times it can be released makes experiments easier.
Since I am doing all the experiments, verifications, and analyses myself, I need to do as many as possible.
There were many things I learned from successfully releasing magic (tentative):
1. A unique sense is required for control, and the number of control attempts is limited based on the amount released.
2. Handling released magic (tentative) is much more difficult compared to when it is connected.
3. Releasing magic (tentative) decreases it (the remaining amount decreases, not the maximum).
4. The decreased magic (tentative) recovers over time (the total amount may increase due to release).
5. When the magic (tentative) is reduced to its limit, consciousness is lost, similar to when physical strength is exhausted.

I succeeded in releasing it.
Although I didn't feel the deep emotional impact of touching the released magic (tentative) like my mother did, I still felt a similar sense of achievement and accomplishment.
But it's not over yet.
There is still much potential in the released magic (tentative).
There are still possibilities regarding the total amount of magic (tentative) and control.
In the eighth month after reincarnation, the handicap of being blind no longer mattered.
I found something that could make me so engrossed that it erased the anxiety of visual impairment.
I look forward to your comments and feedback.
