With a thud from the wine bottle, Zhao Xing, who was already dazed, finally fell into a complete unconsciousness.
Zhang Yang had no intention of letting Zhao Xing off so easily. For such a scumbag, he felt no sympathy at all. He reached out and picked up the brick. The others pretended to be unconscious, not understanding why Zhang Yang was still pursuing this.
A terrifying scene unfolded before their eyes.
They saw Zhang Yang flatten Zhao Xing's hand and smash the brick down on it with all his might. With a squelch, a sound like a frog being stepped on echoed, and Zhao Xing, who was already unconscious, let out a scream of pain and woke up.
"Ah, it hurts, it hurts so much!" Zhao Xing rolled on the ground in agony.
Seeing Zhao Xing's cries, Zhang Yang felt no sympathy. He smiled and said, "Come on, extend your other hand obediently."
Zhao Xing looked at Zhang Yang as if he were a demon and, clutching his hand, cried out in pain, "Boss Wang, Brother Wang, I was wrong, it's all my fault, please spare me."
Zhang Yang said, "Be obedient, extend your other hand!"
Zhao Xing shook his head and backed away; he was truly afraid.
Zhang Yang sighed and said, "Why can't you be obedient?"
With that, he grabbed the brick and smashed it down on Zhao Xing's foot. The others clearly heard the sound of Zhao Xing's foot breaking. The brick shattered into two pieces, and Zhao Xing was drenched in cold sweat. His only thought now was to leave this place. If he had the chance to do it again, no amount of money would make him come.
Dreams were beautiful, but reality was cruel. Zhang Yang picked up half the brick and smiled, saying, "Now can you extend your hand? Be obedient, or I'll break your other leg too."
Zhao Xing's face was a mix of blood and sweat. He trembled and extended his other hand, placing it on the ground.
"That's better!" Zhang Yang said.
Soon, Zhao Xing let out another inhuman scream. Both his hands were smashed to pieces. Looking at his hands, Zhao Xing couldn't hold back his tears and started to cry. Zhao Xing was not a coward; he had never been afraid of fighting with knives, but today he was truly terrified.
He noticed that Zhang Yang's eyes never changed, as if everything was routine. Even if Zhang Yang's eyes had shown excitement, Zhao Xing wouldn't have been so afraid, as he would have known he was dealing with a human.
But Zhang Yang seemed like a cold-blooded animal, with no emotion in his eyes.
This was a misunderstanding on Zhao Xing's part. In reality, Zhang Yang was very excited, but after gaining his supernatural ability, his eyes only showed spirit when he used it. Otherwise, they remained calm, showing no emotion.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but trying to read Zhang Yang's thoughts through his eyes would be a deadly mistake.
Seeing Zhao Xing's pitiful state, Zhang Yang laughed coldly. He felt much better, the pent-up anger dissipating with this discovery. Zhang Yang stood up and looked at the others lying on the ground, pretending to be dead. He guessed they had also been involved in the attack on him that day.
Thinking of this, Zhang Yang smiled and said, "Everyone, cooperate and extend one hand obediently."
Hearing Zhang Yang's words, everyone shivered and quickly pulled their hands back, pressing them under their bodies. They had all seen Zhao Xing's condition and were terrified.
"You need to be obedient. Do you want me to break all your limbs? Come on, I have things to do, don't make me wait," Zhang Yang said.
A few minutes later, screams echoed one after another.
A few more minutes passed, and Zhang Yang, carrying a suitcase, walked out of the alley and hailed a taxi to leave.
Xiao Hei, hiding in a corner, wiped his cold sweat and reported in a low voice, "Boss Nie, this is the situation. Should we still follow him?"
Nie Xinyi was surprised, "That guy is so ruthless?"
Xiao Hei, with a mournful face, said, "It's not just ruthless; that guy is a cold-blooded animal. Boss Nie, I suspect he has blood on his hands. From what I saw, he was trying to kill them, and he doesn't care about their lives at all."
"Then why didn't he kill them?" Nie Xinyi muttered to herself.
"He seems to enjoy the pleasure of torturing people," Xiao Hei said.
"Where is his car?" Nie Xinyi asked.
"The car was left here," Xiao Hei said, hesitating for a moment before adding, "Boss Nie, I really don't dare to follow him anymore. This guy's identity might be fake, and even if we follow him, we might not find anything."
In the underworld, it was all about money. Feeling his life in danger, Xiao Hei naturally didn't want to take the risk.
Nie Xinyi came to her senses and said, "No need to follow him. He is Duan Fei's enemy, and Duan Fei can deal with the trouble himself. If his identity is fake and the car is stolen, this guy must have planned it all out. We won't get involved. Xiao Hei, keep an eye on these people and don't let them escape. I'll send someone to bring them back. With witnesses in hand and the casino affected by personal grudges, it's time for Duan Fei to be replaced."
Xiao Hei, excited, asked, "Boss Nie, what about me?"
"Don't worry, once I succeed, I'll arrange for you to be the head of the security department," Nie Xinyi said.
Xiao Hei hung up the phone excitedly, looking at the few people screaming on the ground. He shook his head. These guys had been too arrogant, not realizing that the person they had offended dared to challenge even Boss Duan. He didn't even remember that he had initially planned to benefit from the situation.
Zhang Yang didn't know someone was following him, and even if he did, he wouldn't have cared.
The taxi didn't go far before Zhang Yang got off at the first place, walked into a clothing store, bought a set of clothes, and left the shop. He looked around, found an empty corner in an alley, and changed his wig and clothes, putting everything, including the suitcase, into a newly bought sports bag.
Wearing the new clothes, Zhang Yang hailed another taxi and headed to the next location. After changing his appearance four or five times, even Zhang Yang couldn't remember where he had been. He was confident that no one could trace his movements. He finally took a taxi back to the hotel.
Back in the room, Zhang Yang rushed to take a shower, took out the alcohol he had bought on the way, and washed off all his tattoos. He shaved his beard, changed into a white sportswear set, and put on a sports bag, looking like a hiker.
He took out the suitcase containing the gold, checked out of the hotel, got into his car, and drove onto the highway. Only then did Zhang Yang's heart calm down.
"Duan Fei, you should have the news by now, and you must be furious. Go ahead, search all you want. You won't even dream of who I am! This is just the beginning, a small lesson for you. It won't be long before I return to Jin City and settle all accounts with you. Xiao Fei, Duan Fei, Wang Yunlai, Wang Tianyu, Niu Jinda, and that mysterious woman, I won't let any of you off."
In fact, Zhang Yang's grudge against them wasn't that deep, but who could blame him for remembering them at his most painful moment? From a psychological perspective, this was a form of transference. Zhang Yang had transformed his love for Wang Yue into hatred, projecting it onto those who had caused him pain. The deeper his love had been, the deeper his hatred now was.
Humans are complex creatures. Some kill over a few words, some set fires over minor issues, and some kill entire families over trivial matters. It was no wonder Zhang Yang hated them so much.
"Wang Jun, I will kill you! I will find you and kill you!" Duan Fei, upon receiving the news, went berserk, smashing things. He knew he had lost face and his future was uncertain.
No matter how much money he spent or how many resources he used, he couldn't find any trace of Wang Jun. It was as if this person had appeared out of nowhere and then vanished just as mysteriously.
