The man asking the questions was in his thirties. His skin was tanned dark. His eyes, however, sparkled. He might have been dealing with thorny problems for a long time, and his thick eyebrows were always knitted in a serious expression, making him look very stern. Lin Dong glanced at his hands, which were unusually large, and the calluses on his palm and index finger were not something an ordinary person would have. There were also traces of long-term smoking between his left index and middle fingers, indicating that he was a heavy smoker.
His clothes didn't stand out, but the dark collar and cuffs suggested that he wasn't particularly meticulous about the details of his life. Lin Dong glanced at the stack of documents and found that they contained all sorts of information about him, from elementary school to middle school and now to Dongshan University. Every detail was recorded, leaving nothing out.
"Who is the 'Smiling Tiger' you mentioned?" Lin Dong didn't answer directly but asked a question in return.
"If you don't know the Smiling Tiger, it's better not to get to know him." The man with thick eyebrows didn't look up, scribbling on the paper. While Lin Dong was pondering his double entendre, he asked, "At 9 PM last night, you were at the entrance of Fenglai Street and refused their gold and a million dollars, right?"
"Ah, you must be the legendary National Security Agency! You're really impressive!" Lin Dong couldn't help but clap and praise. It was incredible how quickly they had gathered such detailed information.
"I'm not from the National Security Agency, and this isn't my personal ability. These documents were compiled by a team of colleagues who worked through several sleepless nights. You might wonder why a couple of fights with the Smiling Tiger's men caught our attention. But if you knew that we've been collecting evidence of his crimes for years, even sacrificing six of our brothers in the process, you might understand our work a bit better." The man's expression was very calm, as if everything he did was a matter of course. He continued writing while speaking and asking questions without any hindrance. "Is your martial art a family tradition or a secret passed down by a master? Are you willing to register with us?"
"What's in it for me?" Lin Dong was the type who wouldn't get up early without a good reason.
"Many things." The man with thick eyebrows pulled out a sheet of paper from the documents and handed it to Lin Dong. It was filled with dense text, listing dozens of benefits of registration.
"Forms to fill out? Forget it." Lin Dong hated trouble.
Most importantly, Lin Dong had just received a small sum of money from the generous Leopard Brother. There's a saying, "With money in hand, the world is mine." With a full stomach and a heavy wallet, he didn't want to think too much about anything else.
Filling out forms, signing, stamping, and writing applications were the things Lin Dong hated the most. Even if a simple finger movement could bring many benefits, he was too lazy to do it.
The man with thick eyebrows wasn't surprised by Lin Dong's refusal and remained calm. "If you don't want to register, we can skip that part."
Lin Dong was slightly surprised. He thought some divine creature would descend upon him, but it turned out to be just a gentle breeze.
The man with thick eyebrows wrote quickly for a while, then stopped, stood up, and pulled out a business card from his pocket, handing it to Lin Dong. "If you need anything, you can call me, especially if you encounter problems that can't be solved with fists."
Lin Dong smiled. "That's great."
On the business card, there were no patterns or marks. Only a name, Qifeng, which seemed to be the man's real name, and his phone number.
"I know I'm not a likable person. If you don't want to see me, it's simple—just don't get to know the Smiling Tiger." The man with thick eyebrows came and went quickly, walking briskly, and was soon out of sight. Lin Dong smiled, placed the business card on the table, and continued his determined battle with breakfast. The cute little girl behind the counter was secretly taking photos with her phone, a satisfied look on her face, as if thinking, "There's an update now."
When Lin Dong waved to pay, the shop owner, a bit fearful and a bit ingratiating, smiled and rubbed his hands. "This meal is on us, no charge."
The cute little girl, hearing this, got excited and rushed out, loudly objecting, "No way, Dad! He eats so much, we'll go bankrupt!"
At the street corner, there were some suspicious shadows, but Lin Dong didn't even glance at them. After a full meal, he went back to sleep.
The next day, when it was time for breakfast, the cute little girl quickly rushed over and set a table full of breakfast without a word. "Don't look at me, Uncle, just eat as much as you want. Someone has already paid for it..."
Someone was treating him?
Lin Dong turned to look at the street corner and, sure enough, saw a few people peeking. As soon as they noticed Lin Dong looking, they shrank back like turtles. Being treated to a meal was a good thing. As the saying goes, "If you don't eat it, it's a waste; if you eat it, it's still a waste." Lin Dong calmly enjoyed the kindness of others. After setting the table, the cute little girl hid to the side and took photos, more paparazzi-like than actual paparazzi.
The cute little girl seemed to have gotten used to Lin Dong's appetite. When she served the last dish, she leaned in close, almost touching him, for a very intimate photo, to prove her close relationship with a certain foodie and to refute the doubts of the腐女 (fujoshi) on the internet.
"Uncle is so nice!" The cute little girl, having achieved her goal, was overjoyed, jumping and dancing with happiness.
"Hey, will you die if you don't act cute for a day?" Lin Dong couldn't do anything about her.
"Hehe." The cute little girl playfully stuck out her tongue.
With a full stomach and nothing to do, Lin Dong decided to go for a walk. He strolled down the jade market, but the "Yoyo House" was unexpectedly closed, which disappointed him.
The monotonous and dull days passed like water. Time flew by. To practice in peace, Lin Dong turned off his phone and ignored any changes in the outside world, focusing on completing the foundation of the "Nine Heavens Star River Technique" at its lowest level. When he came out of his meditative state, he realized that ten days had passed. After completing the foundation at the lowest level, Lin Dong's physical strength had doubled, and he gained a new ability called "True Eyes."
However, the "True Eyes" ability was quite weak. In the world of cultivation, it was mainly used to identify treasure maps and secret treasures, with little impact on combat power.
The increase in combat power was negligible, and he didn't really expect much from it anyway. There were no treasure maps or treasures on the Blue Planet!
Lin Dong, feeling restless after a period of quiet practice, decided to go out for a walk. The computer market was noisy and crowded, so he quickly went to the library to enjoy the quiet.
After lunch, he wandered into a car dealership. As a tall, poor, and handsome man, Lin Dong couldn't even afford a wheel, let alone a car. However, he wasn't there to buy a car but to enjoy the cool air conditioning. Lin Dong didn't look like a rich second generation, at least not in terms of arrogance, but his good looks were enough. In a world where looks were everything, Lin Dong could easily outshine everyone. His deep and experienced demeanor, combined with a graceful and ethereal presence, made him exude a unique charm, drawing the attention of everyone around him like a magnet.
As soon as Lin Dong entered, the experienced girls couldn't help but scream and rush over to surround him, vying for his attention.
"Handsome brother, are you a big star?"
"Can we take a photo with you?"
"You're so tall!"
"So hard!"
"Let me touch too!"
"Hey, don't push, or you'll get wet!"
The sales manager, who looked like a high-level white-collar worker, was burning with jealousy as all the girls flocked to Lin Dong.
Another well-dressed salesperson wished he could pour acid into his cup. "A pretty boy! What big star!" If his combat skills weren't so weak, he would have wanted to punch Lin Dong in the face.
"Let's go, there's nothing to see." Another man, balding and with a young, flirtatious girl on his arm, was about to leave. The girl had been calling him "Daddy" in a sweet voice, but as soon as Lin Dong entered, she couldn't move her eyes from him.
"Daddy, just a little longer!" The girl pleaded.
"No, it's boring!" The balding man, who could drink three bowls of vinegar, felt like he would get a heart attack if he stayed any longer.
Thus, Lin Dong, like a super tank, successfully drew the hatred of all the men in the room. Lin Dong, who found joy in reversing the tables on the rich and beautiful and building his happiness on others' pain, didn't care about others' gazes. The more they hated him, the more he enjoyed it, smiling even more brightly.
What is a reversal?
If it doesn't make you extremely uncomfortable, can it be called a reversal?
What he wanted was this kind of over-the-top effect!
Lin Dong seemed oblivious to others' envy and calmly enjoyed the girls' attentive service. He leisurely looked at the cars, not saying a word about buying one, and even sat down to chat happily with the girls. The sales manager's face was darker than Bao Gong's.
One of the girls, with a very sexy and bold figure, even invited Lin Dong to test drive a car.
Test drive?
You want to have a car ride with him, don't you?
The other salesmen, who were watching in agony, couldn't stop it and felt like they were being stabbed with needles.
