Hong Wazi ran to the accident site in the woods and did not mention the previous conversation again.

He Boqiang carefully avoided a bloody piece of flesh on the ground, covering his mouth and nose with his hand, as the forest was filled with a strong smell of blood.

The warriors of the Second Squad arrived at this forest and were stunned by the scene before them.

The forest was in a mess, with shredded hyena skins scattered everywhere. There were bloodstains, pieces of flesh, and hyena bones on the ground, as if the red-eyed hyenas had been torn apart by some kind of beast. These traces were spread throughout the forest, and some bones were even crushed, indicating that the creature had an astonishing bite force.

Sulidak squatted in the forest, holding a dog bone in his hand. The bloody bone was still covered with a layer of light red mucus, like the saliva of a beast.

The scene was extremely gruesome, with dozens of red-eyed hunting dogs slaughtered in this forest, and there were no complete bodies, as if these hyenas the size of calves had been swallowed by the monster.

Seeing all the squad members gathered, Sulidak asked Dabeizi:

"Kagel, what kind of beast could eat hyenas?"

Kagel squatted next to Sulidak, frowning and said in a low voice, "I don't know!"

"Maybe the big guy hasn't gone far..." Augustus leaned in and said, "I mean... it could be a group of fierce jungle lizards."

Kagel patted Augustus on the shoulder and said to everyone, "I've never heard of jungle lizards in the Gandauer Mountains, and those lizards might not be a match for these red-eyed hyenas. These hyenas are so big, I can't say what the big guy is, but we'd better get away from here as soon as possible."

The warriors of the Second Squad looked at Sulidak. Sulidak pondered for a moment and said, "I know it's a bit dangerous, but I want to know what it is. Otherwise, if it runs to the lumber camp, our camp will be in great danger."

Then, he instructed the warriors of the Second Squad, "Everyone split into four teams and search for clues in this forest area. Whether you find anything or not, regroup here in an hour."

Hearing the captain's arrangement, the warriors of the Second Squad quickly pulled themselves together: "Understood..."

...

Sulidak, He Boqiang, and two new recruits formed a group. No one wanted to team up with the two new recruits, so Sulidak decided to take them.

He Boqiang came to the most intense battle site in the forest, which looked more like a slaughterhouse. A large amount of blood had seeped into the soil, turning the ground a purplish red. Tattered fur was scattered throughout the forest, and many red pines had scratch marks, as if left by the red-eyed hyenas.

There were also some round holes on the pine trees, pierced by sharp, conical weapons, with bloodstains around the edges.

Sulidak touched the bloodstains around the holes, sniffed them, and said, "Could these be from the scorpion-tailed lion's horns?"

He Boqiang shook his head, pointing to the forest and gesturing that scorpion-tailed lions are not social creatures, and one or two of them couldn't cause such a big scene.

Sulidak straightened up, looking at the chaotic forest, and said solemnly, "It feels like these red-eyed hyenas went through a herd of wild buffalo, their bodies shattered by the unicorns, and then devoured by a group of hungry piranhas. No, piranhas couldn't leave no bones behind."

The two new recruits trembled behind Sulidak, acting like timid quails, always wanting to tuck their heads into their chests for safety.

He Boqiang took a few steps, bent down, and looked at the ground, pushing aside a few bloodstained leaves. Several fresh footprints were left in the forest, strange footprints that were longer than a normal human's, with only two toes at the front, resembling a 'Y'-shaped tree branch.

He didn't recognize such strange footprints and looked up at Sulidak.

"These are the footprints of a long-horned demon..." Sulidak's face turned pale, and he said to He Boqiang, "We need to gather everyone and leave here quickly. The long-horned demon is not something we can handle."

Saying this, he stopped exploring the forest and turned to walk back, gesturing to the other team members to evacuate.

He Boqiang had heard the term 'Demon Legion' countless times from others. This time, Duke Newman was preparing a major battle in Handanar County against the Demon Legion from the Warsaw plane. He never expected that Sulidak would track the long-horned demon and immediately decide to lead the entire squad away from the forest.

The other teams, seeing the captain's evacuation gesture, quickly gathered around Sulidak and left the forest.

"Dealing with the Demon Legion is the job of the Construct Knights. We heavy infantry are not even cannon fodder against the demons. We must return to the camp as soon as possible and report our findings to Baron Sidney," Sulidak said as they walked.

Only after the Second Squad warriors left the forest did Sulidak's pale face ease up, indicating that the demons had left a significant shadow in his mind.

At this moment, He Boqiang recalled yesterday's events.

The native girl who approached the Second Squad's temporary camp seemed not to be tracking them but trying to lead him away from the dangerous area, otherwise, she wouldn't have taken him so far.

Unfortunately, he didn't understand the native girl's intentions at the time. Now, thinking about it, He Boqiang felt a cold sweat on his back.

"Roar..."

A roar from a giant bear echoed from the valley below, causing the entire valley to tremble.

"This roar is a sign of the Earth Rampage Bear going mad. There's an Earth Rampage Bear in the valley below. Captain, we need to leave quickly. Once it targets us in its rage, no one can escape," Augustus leaned in and said urgently to Sulidak.

"Let's go, it's too damn dangerous here!" Sulidak waved to the entire squad and ran toward the temporary camp.

Sulidak, while running, said to He Boqiang, "Do you think that big guy... might have encountered..."

His voice trembled, and he paused, pulling He Boqiang and looking down the hill in horror.

He Boqiang followed Sulidak's gaze and saw two cubs lying by the stream at the bottom of the hill, bleeding profusely, with a long-horned demon squatting beside them.

The four-meter-tall Earth Rampage Bear raised its front paws and lunged at the long-horned demon, which was about the same size.

The rocks under the Earth Rampage Bear's feet were crushed.

The long-horned demon also crouched, aiming its two-meter-long black horns at the Earth Rampage Bear by the stream.

Just as the Earth Rampage Bear charged, the long-horned demon's body sprang up, and its horns pierced the Earth Rampage Bear's chest without any resistance...
