Though he thought about it, Yi Rong himself did not know how to use the facial transformation technique. Luo Tai pondered, and suddenly he thought of the spy movies he had seen. In those movies, many people who managed to shake off their pursuers did so by constantly changing their location. Over time, the pursuers would get confused. Without a GPS tracker on him, the Assassin's Guild, no matter how powerful, couldn't always find him, right?
With this thought, Luo Tai quickly finished his hamburger, drank a cup of cola, and then stood up and walked out of McDonald's, entering a shopping center. In the shopping center, Luo Tai bought two coats, one jacket, and one short windbreaker. He also bought a pair of black glasses and a ski mask.
Then, he walked out of the shopping center unhurriedly. After walking east for about 500 meters, he suddenly turned and entered a nearby park. He walked around the park three times, then followed a small path back to the street. As soon as he hit the street, he immediately hailed a taxi.
"Times Square," Luo Tai said directly to the driver after getting in.
The taxi started heading towards Times Square, while Luo Tai watched the car windows and the rearview mirror, looking for any vehicles that might be tailing him.
The taxi came to a crossroads and stopped for a red light.
"How much further?" Luo Tai asked the driver.
"Three more blocks, sir," the driver replied.
Luo Tai nodded. Then he took out a bill from his pocket and threw it to the driver. Without waiting for the driver to react, he opened the car door and got out.
After getting out, Luo Tai disappeared into the crowd, walking with the flow for a while, then boarded a bus heading to an unknown destination.
After getting on the bus, Luo Tai walked to the back and sat down, closing his eyes to rest for a bit. About twenty minutes later, he got off the bus and quickly boarded another one.
Luo Tai wandered aimlessly, even forgetting how many streets he had walked and how many buses he had taken. After that, he took the subway, circling around. In a restroom at a subway station, Luo Tai changed into the first coat, a light blue jacket. He continued to change locations, even taking a yacht to the seaside...
By evening, Luo Tai, wearing a gray short windbreaker, a ski mask, and black glasses, took a taxi back to the convenience store he had visited in the morning.
Luo Tai felt he had almost run through half of New York, and most of it was in a random, chaotic manner. Even Sloan would be dizzy if he saw this!
He quietly stood in a dark corner, eyes fixed on the convenience store, hoping to get lucky here. Around seven o'clock, Luo Tai saw a man walk out of the convenience store. He was wearing a black suit, had light yellow hair, and was quite tall.
Luo Tai had seen movies and knew who this person was. It wasn't Wesley, but he was closely related to Wesley. This person was Barry, played by Hollywood actor Chris Pratt.
On the surface, Wesley and Barry were best friends at the company, but secretly, Barry always thought Wesley was a wimp and often slept with Wesley's girlfriend.
Finally seeing a major character from the movie, Luo Tai naturally couldn't let this opportunity slip by. Although it wasn't Wesley, he could at least find out Wesley's current situation from him.
Luo Tai didn't rush to grab him but slowly followed Barry. He pulled his ski mask down, hands in his pockets, and kept a distance of about ten meters, following him all the way.
As an ordinary person, Barry naturally didn't feel he was being followed.
He walked down the street without taking any transportation. Gradually, he walked out of the Wall Street area and came to a street with bright neon lights. Luo Tai naturally didn't let him out of his sight and saw Barry enter an unassuming bar.
Luo Tai thought for a moment, looked around, and saw no suspicious people, so he also entered the bar. The bar wasn't very big, and it was very peaceful, quite different from the extravagant and hedonistic nightclubs in New York. It seemed to be a haven from the bustling city.
The bar was about 200 square meters, with a large hall. In the northeast corner was a semicircular bar, where a few people were sitting, drinking beer. Above them was a hanging TV. In the middle of the hall were about a dozen small round tables. In the northwest corner was a small stage where a middle-aged man was playing the piano.
In the southeast corner were some entertainment facilities, where the most people were gathered. They were enthusiastically playing a game, which was actually a target. Someone was holding a feather dart and standing five meters away, throwing it at the circular target.
At that moment, a bald, muscular man was throwing the darts. His throws were pretty good, mostly hitting the ring outside the center.
Every time he threw a dart, many people would cheer and applaud. On the wooden table beside them was a stack of dollars. It seemed they were betting, and whoever threw the most accurately would win the money.
Luo Tai wasn't very interested in this. He looked around for Barry. Soon, he saw Barry, who was sitting alone at the bar, drinking a beer, with no one around him.
Luo Tai quietly walked to the bar.
"A beer," Luo Tai sat down on a half-high stool next to Barry, took out a dollar bill, and slid it to the bartender, a sexy blonde in her twenties. She took the dollar, smiled at Luo Tai, and then turned to pour him a full glass of beer.
Barry instinctively turned to look at Luo Tai and smiled at him. He raised his glass and took a sip.
"Are you Barry?" Luo Tai didn't look at him, picked up his glass, took a sip, and then slowly said.
Barry was taken aback, frowned, and sized up the Chinese man. Then he shook his head and said, "You... are you talking to me?"
"Of course," Luo Tai turned and said, "Is there anyone else here named Barry?"
"Oh, God, I don't think I've ever seen you. How do you know my name?" Barry asked, puzzled.
Luo Tai smiled. Barry's words indirectly confirmed that he had the right person.
"You've never seen me," Luo Tai said slowly. "My name is Luo Tai, a friend of a friend."
"A friend of mine?"
"Yes," Luo Tai said. "Wesley Gibson."
"Wesley?" Barry was surprised when he heard the name. He quickly said, "Oh, my God, where is he? I haven't seen him for a month."
"A month?" Luo Tai was taken aback and asked, "When was the last time you saw him?"
Barry shrugged and said, "At the company, he yelled at the boss, hit me with a keyboard, and then quit." As he spoke, he subconsciously touched his cheek.
Barry's words made Luo Tai immediately realize the current timeline. In the movie, after Wesley yelled at the boss and hit Barry, he left the company and joined the Fraternity under Fergus's guidance!
Sigh... Luo Tai sighed. This situation was even more disadvantageous for him. Wesley had been out of the company for a month, which meant he had already been trained into a super assassin and was under Sloan's command. How could he gain Wesley's trust in his current identity?
Seeing Luo Tai not speaking, Barry couldn't help but ask, "Hey, have you seen Wesley? Or... or did he send you to find me?"
"Do you know where his girlfriend lives?" Luo Tai said, slowly taking a sip of beer.
"Uh... this... I... I'm not... quite sure..." Barry stammered.
"Really?" Luo Tai smiled. "You sleep with her every day and don't know where she lives?"
Barry's face immediately changed. He stared at Luo Tai and said, "You... you're talking nonsense. Who the hell are you?"
"My name is Luo Tai, I already told you," Luo Tai said.
"Go to hell, Luo Tai." Barry cursed and started to get up.
How could Luo Tai let him go? As soon as Barry stood up, Luo Tai reached out and grabbed his shoulder, then applied pressure.
"Ah~~" A sharp pain shot through Barry's shoulder, and he let out a cry. Before he could finish, Luo Tai pushed him back onto the high stool.
"Listen to me, you bastard, take me to that bitch right now. This is a matter of life and death..." Luo Tai said, emphasizing each word.
"What do you mean?" Barry asked.
"I'll tell you when we get there, OK?" Luo Tai said.
"Roar~~~ Hahaha~~~ Good job, Jamie." The noise from the target area drowned out Luo Tai's words.
Barry turned to look, then frowned and nodded at Luo Tai.
Luo Tai let go, and the two of them got up and left the bar.
"Wait a moment," as they passed the target area, Barry stopped and said to Luo Tai, "I bet some money here..."
