Junior’s Invasion. (Part 2)
When an order for a dessert came in, I made it with Mise-san’s supervision since it was a menu I had just learned the other day.
“What do you think?”
After my Golden Week experience, I wouldn’t call myself a rookie anymore.
“It’s good, perfect. You’re doing fine without me looking over your shoulder.”
“Thanks.”
She was dependable when it came to work, and she was also a funny person.
As I handed the dessert I had made to a senior staff member in charge of the hall, I saw the manager in the back of the restaurant.
He noticed me and called out to me.
“Ahh, I heard there’s a girl coming in for an interview today.”
“Hee, is that so?”
I guess they will interview her in the break room like they did with me.
With this in mind, I rinsed the plates and glasses that were brought in and placed them in a large dishwasher.
“Ehh~ this is what it feels like in the back of the restaurant.”
“Though unlike the front, it’s dimly lit.”
I heard a little conversation with the manager leaking out.
Apparently it was a girl who came in for an interview.
The senior staff members guessed that since I had just joined the kitchen, she would probably be in charge of the hall.
Or rather, they said there were not many girls like Mise-san who were in charge of the kitchen, so I guessed that would be the case in all probability.
After about 10 minutes, the door leading to the hallway opened.
It seemed that the manager had come in to give a tour to the girl who had interviewed for the job.
“This is the kitchen. Though I don’t think the staff in the hall go in from this side.”
“Yes, sir.”
I heard a cheerful reply.
I was curious to see what kind of girl was going to enter the kitchen.
“Ahh-! Isn’t it senpai-!”
It was Homma in her school uniform.
What is Honma doing here…!?
I chose this place because I didn’t want other people to see me working part-time. I was exposed before I had time to escape…
“So this is the place where you do your part-time work, huh?”
I decided to respond normally
“Ahh, yes.”
“I too would be in your care from now.”
Then, Homma happily waved her hand and left the kitchen.
Seriously… the new recruit was Homma?
I didn’t even tell Hinagata about the place until last week when Sugiuchi persistently asked me to tell her about it.
Well, it’s not uncommon for people to get caught up with each other if they want to get a part-time job, or is it….?
“She was so cute.”
“A JK, in uniform, and she’s super cute… isn’t it erotic?”
“I’ll confess to her next time…”
Since there were only men in the room, except for Mise-san, there was a storm of crude remarks going on in the kitchen.
“T-tonomura-kun, that girl, she called you senpai…?”
Mise-san asked with a serious look on her face.
“Yes, she was a junior in middle school, and now she’s a freshman who joined our high school in April.”
“…”
For some reason, Mise-san was shocked.
“A girl who emits such a sparkling aura all over, she’s…?”
Mise-san’s eyes swam left and right, and she seemed to be in a panic.
“Tonomura-kun, will you continue to be a good friend to me without abandoning me…?”
“No, what is it, all of a sudden? What are you making such a big deal out of it?”
“Because Daphnia can’t get near anyone who gives off an aura of glorious youth.”
By Daphnia, she mean’s herself.
“Ohh.. You are thinking that I would not be with you now but with a junior, whom I’m on better terms with?”
HmmHmmHmm, Mise-san shook her head furiously.
“No, I won’t do such things. It’s not like I am restricted to just one person.”
“Th-tha, that’s true too…”
Misa-san breather a sign of relief
Except for afterwards, Honma was in charge of the hall. There was almost no time for chit-chat during the workday.
“I would be sad if you stopped talking to me… Tonomura-kun. Even though we have become good friends… ahh. Is it possible that I’m the only one who thinks we’ve become friends?”
“That’s not true.”
She’s half filled with nothing but negativity…
“Tonomura-kun, maybe you play the tacky game of pretending to get along with a shady character and then returning the relationship to zero…?”
Aren’t I just the worst? How bad can I be?
It seems that just by looking at Homma, Mise-san’s paranoia switch was turned on.
“Together with Hingata-san, maybe you guys will talk about me behind my….”
“No, No, No, We don’t.”
Mise-san was a bit of a bother.
But when we exchanged contact information afterward, she was in a good mood and very happy.
