Having said what needed to be said, Moon Jung-woo, who was completely unfamiliar with Leslie Cheung, left with a pile of materials. It was a task left by Lee Soo-young for him to study Leslie Cheung's life in detail upon returning home. His films, his music, his legendary life, and his entire journey. Even if Moon Jung-woo knew nothing about the entertainment industry, he could be sure that President Lee Soo-young, who created idols, was not just creating simple idols.
Moon Jung-woo had a feeling about art, or anything artistic. However, he reminded him that for now, he was still the president of an entertainment company that produced idol singers, and not to aim too high. This earned him another scolding from Lee Soo-young. Just before leaving, Lee Soo-young suddenly called out to Moon Jung-woo, "Your school has been arranged. You'll start tomorrow or the day after."
Moon Jung-woo nodded in agreement and turned to leave the room.
March 1st is the fixed start of the school year in South Korea. The uniformity of this date is so significant that even age is determined by it. Logically, Moon Jung-woo should have transferred and reported to his new school long ago, but the procedures at his previous school were too complicated. The Moon family only provided a document for Lee Soo-young to sign, and the rest had to be handled by him. It took a month to complete all the procedures, showing the seriousness with which South Korea treats education. Of course, it also reflected the complexity of Moon Jung-woo's identity.
Now, Moon Jung-woo's name remained the same, but his background was vastly different from before. Holding the address and the folder containing the completed procedures, he looked at the name "Jeonju" and scratched his head in confusion. Moon Jung-woo didn't even look at the name of the middle school and turned to go back. Was this a joke? No schools in Seoul? Why go all the way to Jeonju?
"Hey!" Just as he was about to knock on the door, a voice interrupted him. Turning around, he saw Lee Soon-gyu at the top of the stairs.
Moon Jung-woo was taken aback, looking at the president's office and then at the completed procedures in his hand. He walked towards Lee Soon-gyu. It took a month to complete the procedures, and it was impossible to change them now. It didn't matter where he went, as long as he didn't have to walk there.
"Listening in again? Why haven't you left yet?"
Lee Soon-gyu glared at him, "Didn't you say you needed to talk to me?"
Looking at the materials in Moon Jung-woo's hand, Lee Soon-gyu took a glance, "Jeonju Yangji Middle School... the school they found for you? Why so far away?"
Moon Jung-woo shook his head, "You're confused too, right? Ask your dad when you get home; he arranged it."
Lee Soon-gyu chuckled, "Moon Jung-woo, do you think I'll ask for you... What's this? It looks familiar." He took a CD from Moon Jung-woo, which turned out to be a Leslie Cheung album.
Lee Soon-gyu shook his head and smiled, handing it back, "He actually lent you this treasure? He must have told you about Leslie Cheung's legend."
Moon Jung-woo looked surprised, "You didn't know?"
Lee Soon-gyu was taken aback, "Know what?"
Moon Jung-woo pointed to the photo, "This Leslie Cheung, he jumped from a hotel in Hong Kong yesterday evening."
Lee Soon-gyu laughed, "Oh, come on. It was April Fool's Day yesterday. It must be fake news."
Moon Jung-woo shrugged, "Your dad hopes it's fake, but unfortunately..."
Lee Soon-gyu slowed his pace, eyes wide, "So, it's true?"
Moon Jung-woo nodded, "True. But don't worry, the president was so affected by this that he decided I should complete the path of this recently deceased senior... a dual-star in film and music."
This time, Lee Soon-gyu didn't just slow down; he stopped completely. Moon Jung-woo subconsciously stopped too and turned to look at him.
Lee Soon-gyu was now looking him up and down, from head to toe, and then pointed at him in disbelief, "You? Leslie Cheung? A dual-star in film and music?"
Moon Jung-woo frowned, "What? Can't I, oppa?"
Lee Soon-gyu burst out laughing, a laugh filled with disdain. Moon Jung-woo had already realized it was disdain.
"Hey! He... his Cantonese album sold 300,000 copies in Korea without any promotion. His lead role in movies had record-breaking box office numbers, even with Korea's strict entertainment culture protection. You... just you?!"
Moon Jung-woo raised an eyebrow, looking at Lee Soon-gyu, "When I say I'm sharp-tongued, it's not entirely my fault. I find you really amazing, with a strong, gender-bending mindset that constantly pushes me to speak my mind, even when I don't want to."
Lee Soon-gyu pushed him, "Hey! Don't forget I'm your senior. Watch your words. How dare you call yourself oppa?! And you're the one who's twisted and perverted. If you speak rudely again, I'll make you kneel with your hands up and taste the care of your senior."
Moon Jung-woo remained calm, "It seems you provoked me first. Otherwise, with my current enlightened personality, I wouldn't speak to you like this."
He casually looked at the CD and a few DVDs in his hand, then suddenly chuckled and put his arm around her shoulder, "Soon-gyu..."
Lee Soon-gyu coldly slapped his hand away, narrowing her eyes, "Are you too enlightened? Can men and women be so intimate? Are you starting to use your looks to your advantage?"
Moon Jung-woo opened his mouth to say something but was taken aback by her words, "You mean my looks affect you, making you like me involuntarily?" Lee Soon-gyu's tone faltered, and she raised her hand to slap him.
Moon Jung-woo took a small step back, letting her hand graze his back, and then smoothly put his arm around her shoulder and walked forward, "What's the big deal? I might have been naive before, but now it's different. It's a sign of closeness... Do you still take selfies?"
Lee Soon-gyu pushed him away forcefully, glaring at him. Despite her anger, she was momentarily defeated by his gentle smile.
She pursed her lips and crossed her arms, walking forward with a stern face, "Moon Jung-woo, behind your sunny smile lies a dark, manipulative side. I don't know what kind of personality you have after being enlightened, but it's scary."
Moon Jung-woo followed, "I asked if you still take selfies. What do you mean by sunny and dark? Are you avoiding the topic because you have some issues?"
Lee Soon-gyu pouted and turned her head, "Mind your own business?!"
Seeing Moon Jung-woo smiling without a word, Lee Soon-gyu huffed, "I remember your warning clearly. What was it? Something about not being able to tell the gender, and growing up more."
Moon Jung-woo's gaze dropped thirty degrees, and after a moment, he shook his head, "I was just joking. At least for now, you don't need to grow more... otherwise, it would be out of proportion with your height."
Lee Soon-gyu was taken aback and followed his gaze to her chest. She screamed and lunged at him. Moon Jung-woo chuckled and dodged, and the two started chasing and playing around.
The empty corridor was filled with Moon Jung-woo's laughter and Lee Soon-gyu's scolding. After a while, Moon Jung-woo deliberately stopped running and was caught by Lee Soon-gyu, who slapped him a few times. That was the end of it.
"Where does Mi-na go to school?" Before Lee Soon-gyu could catch her breath, Moon Jung-woo slowly stopped laughing and asked.
Lee Soon-gyu was taken aback, frowning at him, "You... what are you going to do?"
Moon Jung-woo smiled lightly, "Nothing, just to thank her."
Lee Soon-gyu bit her lip and spoke softly, "I think you should forget it."
Moon Jung-woo looked puzzled, "You think? When is it my turn to think?"
Waving his hand to interrupt her, Moon Jung-woo said, "It's not what you think. I really want to thank her... By the way, do you have any money?"
Lee Soon-gyu instinctively covered her pocket, "No!"
"Then you do have some?" Moon Jung-woo reached into her pocket and took out a wallet.
Lee Soon-gyu jumped and shouted, "Hey! Give it back!"
Moon Jung-woo put on a serious face, holding the wallet out of her reach, "I just need some money, I'll pay you back... If you keep moving, I'll take more."
Seeing Lee Soon-gyu still struggling, Moon Jung-woo narrowed his eyes and leaned in, his lips just 0.01 centimeters away from hers.
"Soon-gyu... don't force me to take more than just money."
Lee Soon-gyu was stunned, staring at Moon Jung-woo's face so close to hers, unable to speak. Moon Jung-woo took the money, put the wallet back in her pocket, chuckled, and poked her nose before walking towards the stairs.
He disappeared down the corridor. Lee Soon-gyu came to her senses, feeling her heart racing, and instinctively took out her wallet...
"Moon Jung-woo!! Give me back my money, you bastard!!!" Lee Soon-gyu gritted her teeth and chased after him. Soon, both of them disappeared from the corridor exit.
No one saw that in Lee Soon-gyu's wallet, only a 50,000 won bill was left, the rest taken by that bastard.
