Actually, while Wen Zhengyu was talking to Mr. Liu, the other teachers had already noticed him. There was no way they could ignore someone as good-looking as Wen Zhengyu. Mr. Liu was a man and was already talking to Wen Zhengyu, so he couldn't be too obvious. But the other teachers didn't need to hide their interest.
Especially the female teachers, who smiled and approached, "This child is really good-looking... Is he a boy?"
Oh dear. Wen Zhengyu squinted his eyes in a smile and politely bowed. But in his heart, he couldn't help but think of something.
"Which class is he assigned to? Is it the second year? Mr. Liu, you won't directly assign him to your Class 3, right?"
Teachers are teachers, especially in schools outside of Seoul. They are not famous, and their scale is not large. They often take on multiple roles while teaching. Only when they can't manage everything will someone be specifically assigned to a task. So, during the lunch break, when there was nothing to do, and such a student arrived, they naturally came over to take a look.
Appearance is the first impression. At least he was polite, neither humble nor arrogant, and his smile was sunny and gentle. Which teacher wouldn't like such a student?
Mr. Liu waved his hand and said helplessly, "You guys, you've never been this enthusiastic about transfer students before. Now you're acting like you want to eat him. The principal hasn't returned yet. This student transferred from a Seoul ethnic school, and the principal is very concerned about him."
Originally, these teachers were just passing the time, but when they heard Mr. Liu's words, they became genuinely curious. A male teacher, who hadn't paid much attention before, had a serious look on his face and was writing something on the desk. He couldn't help but look up and ask, "Is the ethnic school an elite school? Its teaching quality is among the best in South Korea. How could..."
Mr. Liu glanced at Wen Zhengyu, who was smiling but silent, and said to the male teacher, "He said his family fell on hard times and couldn't afford the tuition... Oh, and he's also a trainee at an entertainment company."
The female teachers gathered around again, their faces full of admiration, "No wonder, I said he's so good-looking, being a trainee is indeed suitable."
The male teacher, however, looked somewhat displeased, "His grades must be average, and he was probably dropped. Not focusing on studies, but liking those things."
Wen Zhengyu bowed and continued to smile without speaking. This instead sparked the female teachers' protective instincts.
A short-haired female teacher turned and glared at him, "Lee Chang-hoon, I remember seeing an SES CD on your desk last time. Are you a fake fan? So hostile to celebrities?"
The male teacher, named Lee Chang-hoon, looked embarrassed and smiled without saying anything. The other two female teachers giggled, "He should be reined in by Teacher Jeong."
"Exactly, always so stiff, secretly listening to Sugar's album."
"I even saw a Fin.K.L poster the other day."
Mr. Liu laughed and waved his hand, "Enough, enough. Bullying an honest person every day, how interesting is that?"
Teacher Jeong, whose name was Jeong Seon-ji, the female teacher who was protecting Wen Zhengyu, pouted and glanced at Lee Chang-hoon, then casually picked up Wen Zhengyu's file, "He's an honest person? Just pretending, what a burden."
The more Jeong Seon-ji seemed to dislike Lee Chang-hoon, the more relaxed he became, indicating there was something between them. But Wen Zhengyu wasn't concerned about that; he was worried about the file being casually opened.
Jeong Seon-ji was just looking casually, but soon her mouth opened wide, and her eyes widened, "Oh my, this child... from the Kim family..." The other female teachers couldn't help but gather around, and after a moment, they were all surprised. Wen Zhengyu scratched his head, stunned.
Is my academic performance really that good? It shouldn't be, right? I'm just a middle school student, far from university. Besides, which school doesn't have a few good students? Wen Zhengyu was smart and had matured. But social experience is something that can't be compensated for by intelligence and maturity. The ethnic school is an elite school, from elementary to high school.
Of course, there are second-generation rich kids who don't like studying, but you're just one of them. Wanting to do the kind of nonsense that second-generation rich kids do is basically impossible. Can a school like this be run by a mere rich kid? And if there are those who really like studying, their achievements are definitely unmatched by other middle schools.
Wen Zhengyu was always second, occasionally third. In such a small school, he really stood out. Don't be fooled by the fact that they are all second-year students, the same grade. Many things are just names, but in reality, there are huge differences. The teachers who were teasing Wen Zhengyu suddenly fell silent, finally looking a bit more like teachers.
In theory, teachers shouldn't be laughing and joking when they meet a transfer student. But second-year students, no matter how mature, are still children. Plus, Wen Zhengyu's appearance was too beautiful, not like a boy. So they were a bit more casual. But looking at the report card, full of A's, and the various honors and activity achievements, they almost felt they shouldn't treat him like a child.
Wen Zhengyu had matured, but his experience was still limited. Seeing their expressions, he was stunned for a moment but soon understood that it was probably his grades and materials that caused this. Knowing the root of the problem, what was difficult? When the principal finally arrived and passed by the office, he saw this scene.
"Zhengyu, have you had a girlfriend at school? Find a little rich girl to cultivate?"
"Ha, are you kidding? Zhengyu is so good at studies, having a girlfriend would distract him."
"Probably not allowed to date, the ethnic school has strict management."
"Early romance, it's hard to control anywhere, who hasn't been through that stage?"
Wen Zhengyu squinted his eyes in a smile, sitting in the middle, looking cute. The teachers gathered around, laughing and joking, but subtly, Wen Zhengyu's position shifted from being the center of attention to the center of their laughter. Even a light cough didn't interrupt them.
"Rest time is over, why aren't you going to class?" The teachers instinctively turned their heads, stuck out their tongues, and returned to their seats. A bald man in his early fifties with a big belly walked in, looking a bit comical. But in the eyes of the teachers, he was full of authority.
Mr. Liu quickly stood up, handed over the file, and gestured for Wen Zhengyu to come forward, "Principal, this is Wen Zhengyu, who transferred from the ethnic school..."
The principal took the file, looked at the bowing Wen Zhengyu, and smiled warmly, nodding, "You are Wen Zhengyu."
Wen Zhengyu nodded, "Yes."
Glancing at the teachers who had been secretly watching, the lunch break was over, and they had all returned. But it wasn't just the five or six teachers. All the second-year teachers were there. Those who didn't know the situation had been informed by their colleagues.
Wen Zhengyu could feel the gazes on him, because the principal's attitude towards him and the teachers was quite different. In school, in the principal's eyes, students should be lower than teachers, and teachers lower than the principal. But to be so gentle to a student and so strict to teachers, this student was definitely not simple.
The principal's gaze alone could make the teachers' curiosity fade. He coughed lightly and turned to the door, "Follow me."
Wen Zhengyu agreed and followed. The principal subconsciously turned back and found Mr. Liu still following.
The principal frowned slightly, "I called him, not you."
Mr. Liu, who often handled such issues and was somewhat familiar with the principal, glanced at Wen Zhengyu and smiled, "Principal, which class do you plan to assign Wen Zhengyu to?"
The principal frowned, "Is that your business?"
Mr. Liu didn't back down. Seeing Mr. Liu take the lead, the other teachers also smiled and came forward, "Principal, assign him to our class. Our class is at the bottom, and we need a student like Zhengyu to improve the study atmosphere."
When one teacher spoke up, the others quickly followed, giving reasons why Wen Zhengyu should be in their class, all insisting that he should be in their class.
The principal was speechless, scolding them, "Go back to class, is one student worth all this fuss?" He then ignored them, pulling the somewhat confused Wen Zhengyu into the principal's office, finally getting some peace.
