Chapter 45

When the door opened, Lee Soon-gyu, looking at Moon Jung-woo's expression, held back the turmoil in his heart and the sigh, and walked in. A moment of carelessness had led to this result. How composed this kid usually was, yet today, a simple wink from him had scared him so much. He looked as if he had seen a ghost.

Moon Jung-woo closed the door but did not head towards the bedroom. Instead, he calmly asked Lee Soon-gyu's back, "You... you came for something?"

Lee Soon-gyu was about to enter the bedroom when he heard Moon Jung-woo's words and paused, instinctively turning to say something. But he saw Moon Jung-woo standing by the door, as if ready to open it and send him out at any moment.

Lee Soon-gyu's face fell, and he narrowed his eyes, "Hey! Are you unwelcoming me or trying to kick me out?"

Moon Jung-woo rubbed his nose, "Those two seem to mean the same thing, don't they?"

"You!" Lee Soon-gyu tried to hold back his anger, "So you mean both?"

Moon Jung-woo was silent for a moment, then looked up solemnly, "Soon-gyu-ssi, I think we're still young. Especially you, who have been training for five years. You're about to debut, and I've only had one day of training. Right now, we really... really aren't... suitable..."

Moon Jung-woo didn't finish his sentence, but Lee Soon-gyu clenched his fists tightly, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath, "Not suitable for what? Why don't you finish?"

Moon Jung-woo gritted his teeth, "For dating now."

"Hey!!" Lee Soon-gyu finally couldn't hold back, opening his eyes and shouting.

Moon Jung-woo shook his head, "It's fine if you're angry, because I think it's for the best for both of us."

Lee Soon-gyu, seeing Moon Jung-woo's serious expression, involuntarily covered the back of his head, "Oh my... Kim family..."

He stomped his foot hard, as if the ground was about to collapse. "Hey!! Moon Jung-woo!! Do you even know what you're saying?!"

Moon Jung-woo instinctively stepped back, looking at Lee Soon-gyu, who glared at him like a little lion, ready to pounce and bite at any moment. It was the nickname he had given her privately.

Lee Soon-gyu gritted his teeth, "Do you think I gave you a wink today because I like you?!"

Pointing to the coat on the sofa, Lee Soon-gyu said coldly, "Put it on. I'm taking you to Jun-young oppa's house right now. We'll ask him what's going on face-to-face!"

Moon Jung-woo was stunned, realizing he might have been overly stimulated and overlooked something.

Seeing Lee Soon-gyu's face turn pale with anger rather than red, Moon Jung-woo, who was usually calm, cleared his throat and smiled, "Look at you. I didn't say you like me. I was afraid I might unintentionally give you the wrong impression, which wouldn't be good, right? Besides, SW only has one male trainee, and you're in the prime of your youth..."

Lee Soon-gyu narrowed his eyes and quietly picked up the mop. Moon Jung-woo quickly stepped forward to take it and put it away, "Soon-gyu, let's just say I misunderstood. Let's go inside and talk. Standing here is tiring."

Lee Soon-gyu was dragged into the bedroom and sat on the sofa, his face expressionless, staring at Moon Jung-woo. He didn't even turn his head, just moved his eyes to follow him.

Moon Jung-woo, unable to help but laugh and cry, sat in front of the computer and looked at her, "Is it really that bad? Did my rejection hurt you that much?"

Lee Soon-gyu took off his shoe and threw it, "Moon Jung-woo, I'm saying this again today. Even if you were the only man left in Seoul or all of South Korea, I'd rather marry an African native than you!"

Moon Jung-woo opened his mouth wide, sized up Lee Soon-gyu's figure, and shook his head after a while, "Such a heavy taste, you'll shorten your lifespan!"

Seeing the dangerous light in Lee Soon-gyu's eyes again, Moon Jung-woo waved his hands, lowered his head, and was silent for a moment before smiling, "Alright, I'll make a statement too. Let's not talk about Seoul or South Korea. Just about types."

He narrowed his eyes and sized up Lee Soon-gyu, who raised her head and glared at him, "Mo?"

Moon Jung-woo pursed his lips, "Be specific, so you don't think I like you. Hmm... if I ever date a girlfriend, I won't choose someone as petite as you, under 1.6 meters. As for looks, definitely not the cute type. I like someone calm and composed. And..."

A snort interrupted Moon Jung-woo, and Lee Soon-gyu smirked, shaking her head and looking at him playfully, "Hey. Aren't you just finding loopholes? If you have a crush, just say it. Even if I don't give you a chance, I won't make you look bad. Why go through this?"

Moon Jung-woo was stunned, frowned, and looked at her, "Wasn't I specific enough? Do I have to name names and say anyone but you, Lee Soon-gyu, can be my girlfriend?"

Lee Soon-gyu raised her hand and gestured, angrily speaking, "I'm only fourteen this year. I'm small now, but how can you guarantee I won't grow taller in five years? Aren't you just finding loopholes?"

Moon Jung-woo shook his head, carefully sized up Lee Soon-gyu's figure, and after a while, his expression turned serious, "I thought about it, and I don't think that's the issue."

Lee Soon-gyu asked instinctively, "Why isn't that the issue... Moon Jung-woo!!"

Lee Soon-gyu took off the other shoe and threw it, "Hey! Are you saying I won't grow taller in my life?! If you have the nerve, say it directly!"

Moon Jung-woo laughed and dodged the shoe, picked it up, and threw it in the trash, "Saying it so bluntly would hurt, so let's not."

Lee Soon-gyu opened her mouth wide, looked at the trash can, and turned to grab a pillow. Moon Jung-woo frowned and looked at her, "Look at yourself. You're in a boy's dorm, taking off your shoes and throwing them around, and even grabbing a pillow from the bed. Should I misunderstand you?"

Lee Soon-gyu put the pillow down, raised her head, and glared at him, "Pick up my shoes!"

Moon Jung-woo pretended to be confused, "You're not wearing them anymore. Shouldn't you thank me for throwing them away?"

Seeing Lee Soon-gyu about to grab the pillow again, Moon Jung-woo helplessly waved his hands and kicked the trash can over, "Alright, I give in."

Lee Soon-gyu glared at him, grumbled, and picked up her shoes from the trash can and put them on.

"Hey. Are you underestimating me? Compared to boys your age, you're not that much taller. Do you have the nerve to laugh at me?" Lee Soon-gyu kicked the trash can back, sat down, and watched him search for something.

Moon Jung-woo looked at the screen without turning his head, "I'm not underestimating you. At our age, girls usually develop earlier than boys. I'm not that much taller, but you're a bit... off."

Lee Soon-gyu snorted, "Moon Jung-woo, let's make a bet. I won't say much, but if I grow taller than 1.6 meters, what will you do?"

Moon Jung-woo paused, turned to look at Lee Soon-gyu, and examined her from head to toe, smiling, "I'll confirm again, you definitely won't. What do you want to bet?"

Lee Soon-gyu's eyes twinkled, and she clapped her hands, laughing, "If I win, you have to shout out the window three times: 'I truly like Lee Soon-gyu!! But she rejected me!!' How about it?"

Moon Jung-woo's expression was surprised, "So crazy? Alright, I'll do it. What if you lose? Will you shout too?"

Lee Soon-gyu nodded, "Of course, dare or not?!"

Moon Jung-woo extended his hand, and Lee Soon-gyu also extended hers, and they slapped hands, "Deal. But there should be a time limit, right? Should I wait for twenty years?"

Lee Soon-gyu shook her head, "Just before we debut. Whichever of us debuts first, it counts."

Moon Jung-woo laughed and turned around, "You really are the president's daughter, so bold. You don't leave yourself any room for retreat."

Lee Soon-gyu pushed him, dissatisfied, "Hey. Don't act like you're sure to win. I'm nine months older than you. You'll take at least two or even three years to debut."

Moon Jung-woo laughed and cried, "What are you lacking confidence in? You've trained for five years and are about to debut. You're not always going to lose... don't tell me you're using shoe inserts?"

He bent down to look at Lee Soon-gyu's heels, "I forgot to check earlier. Have you been using them?"

Lee Soon-gyu gritted her teeth and pushed his head away, "Go to hell!"

Crossing her arms and leaning against the chair, Lee Soon-gyu glared at him, "Anyway, it's none of your business. Just... mo? What are you looking at?"

Moon Jung-woo rubbed his hair, which she had messed up, turned to look at the screen, and quietly closed the webpage. But Lee Soon-gyu leaped forward and "restored browsing."

"The duration of the voice change period..." Lee Soon-gyu's expression was surprised, and she turned to look at Moon Jung-woo, puzzled, "Why are you looking this up?"
