Wen Zhengyu only found out that Jin Taeyeon had drawn the slip to work with him after Liu Shangmin opened the paper ball. Just looking at her expression, Wen Zhengyu couldn't help but feel both amused and speechless.

When he invited her, she had such an attitude, but in the end, she still came over. But Wen Zhengyu absolutely didn't believe she had a change of heart. Perhaps she thought that with so many people, it wouldn't be so coincidental that she would draw the slip to work with him?

But it was clearly such a coincidence, and Wen Zhengyu himself was stunned for a long time. This made her think that he had rigged the results.

However, Wen Zhengyu was really innocent. If he could achieve such a level of deception without her cooperation, would he need to consult her?

But now wasn't the time to think about these things. Wen Zhengyu stepped forward and snatched the paper ball, standing in front and smiling, "The results are out, so no more daydreaming. After Song Huirin and I screen the programs, practice well for the school celebration..."

"Wait a moment." Song Huirin suddenly interrupted Wen Zhengyu.

Wen Zhengyu paused, smiling at Song Huirin, "Is there something, Senior?"

Song Huirin stepped forward, "This result should be nullified. Both of you have talents, and working together on a program would be a waste. We should exclude Jin Taeyeon and start over."

Liu Shangmin had a strange expression, a smile curling at the corner of her mouth, and she glanced back at Jin Taeyeon. The other students thought there was a chance for a change, so they all joined in, "Exactly. Redraw the lots."

Wen Zhengyu pursed his lips, looking at Jin Taeyeon, who was fidgeting with her fingers, and then at Song Huirin, narrowing his eyes and smiling, "Senior, it's just a school celebration. The most important thing is for everyone to have fun. There's no need to be so particular about who works with whom... What do you think, Senior?"

Song Huirin looked surprised, "What? You're not worried about the program not being good enough?"

Wen Zhengyu nodded, "It must be good, but since we've already drawn lots, there's no need to change the results, right? There's no such thing as a waste. Working with Taeyeon might even make the program better. It's all good, right, Senior?"

Song Huirin wanted to say more, but seeing that Wen Zhengyu was smiling, though his eyes were cold, she remembered their current relationship and stepped aside without saying anything more.

Wen Zhengyu paused, smiling and turning to clap his hands, "Alright, everyone, go back and prepare well. The results are based on the draw. No one is allowed to cheat, or I'll have Senior Huirin talk to each of you individually. And Senior Shangmin will be there too. Who dares to say they're not afraid can back out now."

Liu Shangmin threw the blank paper ball at him, and a few boys followed suit, throwing it at him with force.

Wen Zhengyu laughed and dodged. The students were just joining in for fun, and now that the results were out, they all said goodbye to Song Huirin and Wen Zhengyu and went back to their classes.

After all, the class bell had been ringing for a while, and the draw was done during the break.

As Jin Taeyeon was about to leave, Wen Zhengyu called her, "Taeyeon, is your song ready? Bring it over after school... By the way, what's the song title?"

Jin Taeyeon looked at Song Huirin and Liu Shangmin, who hadn't left yet, and softly said, "It's BoA's 'No.1'."

Wen Zhengyu's eyebrows furrowed slightly, seeing Jin Taeyeon lower her head in silence. He thought for a moment and smiled, "Go back to class first, and we'll discuss it later."

Jin Taeyeon paused, bowed to the two seniors, and turned to leave the activity room. Song Huirin was still frowning, thinking about something, and Liu Shangmin gave Wen Zhengyu a glare, indicating for him to come forward, but she also opened the door and left.

Wen Zhengyu touched his nose and said helplessly, "Senior..."

"I'm going back to class. You handle the activity yourself." Song Huirin walked to the door, ignoring Wen Zhengyu, and left directly.

Wen Zhengyu stared at the closed door, silently leaning against the window. After a while, he shook his head and left the activity room.

It's just an activity, right? Why did it suddenly become so complicated? He didn't need to go back to class either, since the results were out, and the next step was to start planning. He also needed to find a song he wanted to perform.

The other programs were mostly for fun, even including a comedic talk show, but he had his own purpose and needed to take it seriously.

Walking to the back of the hill, Wen Zhengyu frowned, thinking. "No.1" definitely wouldn't work, even a more neutral song would be better. This song was too feminine, and in this situation, Wen Zhengyu didn't plan to accommodate her like a boy would a girl.

Sitting down, the diary was still there. He subconsciously frowned, looking around, and considering whether to leave and find a quieter place.

The same spot was frequented by someone else, even if they didn't meet at the same time, it wasn't quiet anymore.

Wen Zhengyu picked it up and flipped through it casually, suddenly smiling and shaking his head, "You really replied? So you're not a boy?"

The idea of giving up on this place had just arisen, but he saw a reply. If the person still replied after knowing he was a boy, they must be a girl.

Wen Zhengyu looked at the new message and chuckled. The response piqued his interest to continue.

"Hey! Whether I'm cute or not is none of your business! Who said you can talk to me like that? Do we know each other that well? And you have the nerve to call yourself a superficial person. People who think like that probably look pretty bad themselves... By the way, I often hear classmates say that this abandoned building is haunted. You... You're not the ghost here, are you? O(∩_∩)O"

Wen Zhengyu smiled, shaking his head and lying down with his arm supporting his head. He couldn't help but think about the next message. After considering several scenarios, he realized he was instinctively interested in something other than practicing idol skills and running away from home. Why did he not only want to continue but also feel a bit addicted?

In such a hidden place, Wen Zhengyu had been there for nearly half a year without anyone coming, but yesterday, when he left the diary, he got such an interesting reply.

Was it that they both had already claimed the stairs of the abandoned building for themselves, just without meeting, or was it just a coincidence that she found the place when he left the diary?

At least eighty percent sure. Yesterday, he thought it didn't matter if the person wasn't a girl, since he had already revealed he was a boy. If the person was also a boy, there probably wouldn't be any further interaction.

In the same school, two boys playing a game of leaving notes like this would be a bit strange. But he didn't write anything like that, just that it was strange.

He believed the other person would understand. Now, Wen Zhengyu was sure it was a girl. And she was quite cute, or... a bit bold?

How could a girl come to such a place? He came here to find peace, as even boys usually didn't dare to come here. But she dared to be alone and even claimed it as her own, trying to drive him away. At least, she had some courage.

But it was probably just her. If she had found the diary with someone else, she wouldn't have left such a message, saying she had found the place and wanted it for herself.

Suddenly, another possibility came to mind. Maybe she and her boyfriend found a place to date? And wrote this to drive him away? It should... be impossible. Junior high students weren't at the age where they could date freely without teachers' interference.

If they could date in such a hidden place, they wouldn't want to be discovered. If that were the case, wouldn't it expose their target?

So, why? His reason for going there was clear, but he hadn't found anyone else in the school in the same situation.

Too popular and couldn't refuse, so he hid. Thinking the opposite, maybe he was too unpopular and didn't fit in? So he had to hide? It didn't seem to be the case. Yangzhi Middle School had a small number of people, and fights and arguments were common, but no one had ever been targeted.

Or... was it because she was too ugly? For some reason, thinking about this, Wen Zhengyu felt his interest slightly decrease.

But after realizing this, he couldn't help but touch his nose and smile. It turned out he was really a superficial person.

Sitting up and taking out a pen, Wen Zhengyu smiled and opened the diary to write again. He decided to continue, not to look for a quieter place. The other person wasn't afraid to keep replying, so why should he be afraid? After all, the worst that could happen... was to meet.

What Wen Zhengyu didn't know was that many things that seemed insignificant often couldn't be realized... destined by fate.
