Ch527 - Alchemy Assessment

Edited by Zaki

The day before the competition, Liu Mufeng and Liu Xuan came out of seclusion.

“Mufeng, Xuanxuan, how was your learning?” Jiang Xu asked worriedly.

“Don’t worry, Xuanxuan and I have already learned it. It was all thanks to the Sacred Alchemist. The other party’s alchemy skills are really admirable. Using his method to refine pills, even if it is just fifth-level pills, the quality is quite good. Moreover, the speed at which the pill is produced is twice as fast as usual. It is really a great benefit.” Liu Mufeng smiled when he said this. In the past ten months, the Father and Son spent a lot of level 5 immortal plants in order to learn the Sacred Alchemist’s refining techniques. However, only after they truly learned the other party’s methods did they understand what real alchemy was.

“Yes, this Senior is really powerful.” Nodding, Liu Xuan also praised his alchemy skills.

“En, it’s good that you’ve learned. It’s good that you’ve learned.” Jiang Xu felt relieved when he heard that both Father and Son had learned it.

“We had a generous amount of time, you don’t have to worry.” It was a month’s time for others and ten months for them inside the bracelet dimension, so it was naturally much easier to learn.

“En.” Jiang Xu laughed when he heard his lover say this. He felt that even if he had ten times the time, it would still depend on his talent. If he was asked to learn, let alone ten months, he might not be able to learn alchemy in a lifetime.

“By the way, have the seeds I left for you been sold?” Liu Mufeng asked as he looked at his wife.

“It was sold within ten days, and in the end, they were all basically rushing to buy it. But those alchemists were very clever. They were unwilling to give out the ninth-level immortal plants and seeds, so they specially exchanged them for heavenly treasures that were either suitable for gold-type or ice-type cultivators. There are none suitable for you and Xuanxuan.” Jiang Xu snorted coldly.

Hearing this, Liu Mufeng smiled. “Expected.”

“These hateful guys.”

“Don’t be angry, think about it. The question in the first exam was about fifth-level pills. Then will the assessment in the second exam be about eighth or ninth-level pills?” Liu Mufeng said with a smile, looking at his wife.

“En, what you said makes sense. It’s impossible to take the fifth-level pill test today and the eighth-level pill test tomorrow. This process of learning and competing in alchemy skills takes a hundred years.” Nodding, Jiang Xu immediately understood his lover’s meaning.

“Yeah, so we still have a chance, don’t worry, if they like to give us heavenly treasures, we just collect them. By the way, are there many gold-type spiritual treasures? Are they enough for Xiaoyuan to advance?” After thinking about it, Liu Mufeng felt that the top priority was to let Xiaoyuan advance to the ninth level. It had been more than a hundred years since Xiaoyuan advanced to the nine stars of the Spiritual Venerable Realm. It was time to prepare to advance to the ninth level.

“En, the heavenly treasures and those pills you prepared to assist in advancing as well as the immortal crystals, I’ve given them all to Xiaoyuan. When you and Xuanxuan win the competition tomorrow, let Xiaoyuan go into seclusion.” Jiang Xu said everything was arranged.

“Okay.” Nodding, Liu Mufeng agreed.

“When Xiaoyuan advances to the ninth level, you, Xiaoxiao and Xuanxuan will be the only ones left in the family who haven’t advanced.” At this point, Jiang Xu looked at his lover.

“I want to learn alchemy to participate in the competition. I am not in a hurry to advance to the ninth level for the time being. Xiaoxiao has only been out of seclusion for twenty years, and she needs to stabilize her strength. Let her stabilize her strength first, and then consider the issue of seclusion afterwards, otherwise, an unstable foundation will affect her future development.”

“Yes, I understand.” Nodding, Jiang Xu expressed his understanding.

The next day, all the alchemists gathered in the main hall.

Everyone had chosen their stone platform. Standing on top of the stone platform, they inserted the Sea God Token representing their identity into the groove on the stone table, and a rectangular groove immediately appeared on the stone table. A long jade box was pushed out.

Everyone picked up the box and opened it. Inside was a picture of a fifth-level Rejuvenation Pill.

At this moment, the phantom of the Sacred Alchemist appeared on the high platform. “Today’s competition is to refine the Level 5 Rejuvenation Pill taught by this old man previously, each person has three chances. Those who fail to refine the pills will be eliminated from the competition.”

Hearing what the old man said, many alchemists were dumbfounded. You will have to give me a piece of the immortal plants three times ah? What does this mean? Let them prepare their own immortal plants? Where do they have so many level five immortal plants?

“Start.” Standing on the high platform, the phantom said calmly with an austere look.

After hearing the old man’s words, everyone immediately began to deal with the immortal plant on hand, clean the alchemy furnace on the stone platform, and prepare to refine the pill.

Liu Mufeng was the first to start the refining process. Everyone was envious and greedy when they saw Liu Mufeng’s Tiantian. Even in Immortal Realm, things like Mystic Fire were rare.

Liu Mufeng’s technique was like flowing clouds and water, very skillful, every movement was fast, but the state of alchemy was always stable. He completed the topic of alchemy in one go. After placing the refined six extreme pills into the small round hole in the middle of the stone table, Liu Mufeng’s identity card automatically popped up.

“Very good, rest for three days, and come back in three days to learn how to refine other pills.”

“Yes, thank you Senior.” Lowering his head, Liu Mufeng thanked him respectfully. Stepped aside to wait for his Son Liu Xuan.

Liu Xuan’s performance was a little wrong for the first time, and the alchemy failed. However, Liu Mufeng believed that his Son would succeed and kept encouraging him with a smile. Liu Xuan finally succeeded in refining the pill on his second try.

After the Father and Son successfully passed the test, neither of them left in a hurry. Instead, they stood aside and watched the other alchemists refining pills.

There were a total of 203 alchemists participating in this competition, and 197 people successfully passed the test. The 6 people failed to refine the pill, and 21 of the martial arts cultivators who came with them (some of the martial arts cultivators beside the alchemy masters had died) were teleported out of the hall.

Seeing that six alchemists were teleported away like this, Liu Xuan wiped his sweat. He felt that if he was not sure in the future, he could be his Father’s servant. There was no need to force himself. If he failed, he would be teleported directly away and be separated from everyone.

Seeing that six alchemists were eliminated in the first competition, Xiao Yi didn’t look very good and he thought:It was right to buy seeds from Jiang Xu. If he hadn’t been working day and night to ripen the spiritual herbs and practice alchemy techniques over the past month, he probably wouldn’t have been able to clear the exam.

After the group returned to the Palace where they lived, Xiaoyuan directly entered the bracelet dimension for seclusion.

Just as Liu Mufeng expected, three days later, the Sacred Alchemist taught a fifth-level Soul Weaving Pill. It was another level five pill. However, this time the learning time given was a bit more, it was two months.

When they saw that the question was about a fifth-level pill, several alchemists were dumbfounded on the spot and kept complaining about why it was another fifth-level pill.

Jiang Xu was happy when he saw the question came out and thought in his heart:Mufeng is really good at predicting things. As expected, Mufeng guessed it right. This time it was a fifth-level pill. Let’s see if those guys can exchange the ninth-level immortal plant for my seeds.

The four siblings of the Xiao family returned to the Palace where they lived. Not long after, Ouyang Fei and Ouyang Xin came to visit them. Five people from the Ouyang Family had come to the Sea God Palace, but the other three people had died, and now only the Ouyang family’s Sister and Brother were left.

“Senior Sister Ouyang, Junior Brother Ouyang, please come in.” The Xiao family and the Ouyang family had some friendship. Ouyang Xin was a ninth-level alchemist and an Elder of Yutian Sect like Xiao Yi, while Ouyang Fei was a martial arts cultivator and a fellow disciple of Xiao Wen of the same sect.

Sitting down, Ouyang Xin sighed. “Junior Brother Xiao, you saw that the question this time is another level 5 pill assessment.” At this point, Ouyang Xin was very depressed. In order to buy level 5 immortal plant seeds, she gave Jiang Xu a piece of Ice Crystal in exchange for it. Unexpectedly, it was still a level 5 pill for the next assessment. It really made people angry. Why didn’t she prepare some level 5 immortal plants? Even if it’s like Jiang Xu and his crowd, just get some seeds and take them with you, right?

“I saw it. I didn’t prepare level 5 immortal plants as well. However, I just don’t know if Dong Feipeng and Jiang Xu have it.” At this point, Xiao Yi smiled bitterly. The only one who could be counted on now was Jiang Xu and the others.

“I really don’t know what that Sacred Alchemist is thinking? He actually brought us a group of ninth-level alchemists to learn fifth-level alchemy. It’s really baffling.” Ouyang Xin got angry when she mentioned this.

In the sect, she was the leading ninth-level alchemist and got the good chance to come here, but she actually had to learn fifth-level alchemy following a group of eighth-level alchemists. What’s even more depressing was that she had only prepared eighth-level and ninth level immortal plants. She had none of the fifth level immortal plants or seeds at all.

“I don’t know exactly what the situation is, but I heard that the previous hundred years was the first stage called the ‘survival of the fittest’. Now it is the second stage called Alchemy competition. I think this level may also last one hundred years.” Xiao Yi frowned.

“Survival of the fittest? Alchemy competition? One hundred years? Junior Brother Xiao, how do you know?” Ouyang Xin asked curiously.

The secret realm of Sea God Palace has always been the most mysterious existence. Even the news about Sea God Palace in the News Pavilion was very little. All they knew was that it was a secret realm where the Sacred Alchemist selected disciples, and the Sea God Token should be with an alchemist. Also, the mortality rate was very high. It would open every 100 million years, and only 100 of the 1,500 people would survive in the end. However, she had never heard of the first stage and the second stage that Xiao Yi was talking about.
