Chapter 4

Just after experiencing a soul transfer, almost dying, and then being taken away by the Wheel of Rebirth, Li Mo, who had experienced a series of dramatic ups and downs, was in an unusually excited mental state, with his thoughts active and inspiration flowing.

Wasn't he just transferred once? His soul, memory, and spirit had thoroughly merged with Victor's, and he had already had a successful experience. If he could eliminate the 'self-awareness' in this remnant soul and retain only the pure knowledge and experience, wouldn't that be a shortcut to success? To gain all the experience of a powerful person out of nowhere!

As for whether doing so would pollute the purity of the soul? Whether he would still be truly himself? Come on, Li Mo was already starting to see himself as Victor. He had already accepted the most terrifying soul transfer; what was a mere memory?

"The request is denied. The Reincarnator can spend 5,000 points to extract specific memories up to the soul's carrying capacity, create a seed, and integrate it into the soul. After the seed is implanted, it will begin to release within a week until it is fully absorbed," the Wheel of Rebirth offered a similar option.

According to the feedback from the Wheel of Rebirth, this jade pupil contained the 'remnant soul' of the previous Reincarnator. Although Li Mo had transferred into Victor, the combined strength of their two souls was only slightly stronger than that of an ordinary person. The terrifying 'remnant soul' before him, even if it had been reduced from a lion to a cat, was still not something Li Mo, a small ant, could contend with.

If he forcibly merged the memories, even if the self-awareness of the remnant soul was eliminated, Li Mo's self-awareness and self-cognition would be overwhelmed by the massive amount of memory information, ultimately losing himself and becoming dazed. However, the greater possibility was that his soul would collapse due to the inability to carry the load.

"What the hell! 5,000 points, that's so harsh!"

What did 5,000 points represent? More than 80% of the items in the spatial equipment would have to be sold, truly a heart-wrenching decision! Damn it, he was already in debt for 1,000 points.

It started with the 500 points required to unlock and bind the spatial equipment. He then continued to ask questions beyond his authority and query special materials, which also consumed points. Unconsciously, he had already spent 1,000 points.

After a moment of contemplation, Li Mo gritted his teeth and agreed, "I agree! I have the ability to pay the points. First, extract and transplant the memory seed, starting with the most basic knowledge, and make it comprehensive. After I check the items in the spatial equipment, I will pay off the debt!"

It was a cheap gain, and spending it didn't hurt. Moreover, in this world, he was just a small ant with no identity or background, with no chance to learn such profound knowledge. Victor, who had struggled at the bottom, deeply understood the importance and value of power.

For Victor, if there were really devils willing to sign a contract with him, even at the cost of selling his soul, he would agree without hesitation. Unfortunately, Victor was so ordinary that even devils wouldn't give him the chance to sell himself.

As for starting from the basics as a novice mage? That would require someone to recognize him. Victor wasn't without such ambitions, but his talent was insufficient, and the gold he could offer was limited.

After undergoing three physical examinations and being judged as 'having no potential to become a mage,' and being rejected by several low-level mages, he finally gave up the idea of becoming a mage's apprentice.

After so many years of effort, he was finally chosen by a dwarf boss who mastered simple 'mechanical alchemy skills' to be a novice worker, occasionally teaching him some basic mechanical part-making techniques. If Victor didn't join a local organization, he was expected to become a clockmaker for the nobility in ten years, living a barely comfortable life.

But this was not what Victor wanted. He had ambitions and was unwilling to live an ordinary life. He yearned to become a powerful person, to have the strength to control his own destiny. However, the ants at the bottom had no chance to rise. Otherwise, Victor wouldn't have risked his life by joining an underground organization, only to be used as cannon fodder and easily die in the streets.

Now, an opportunity was presented to Li Mo. Feeling the intense desire transmitted by this body, Li Mo had no intention of refusing. To come to such a fantastical world was a rare opportunity. How could he choose to return to an ordinary life?

...

As soon as he finished speaking, a beam of light shone on the small metal book, extracting the jade pupil and separating a remnant soul. Then, on the soul level, screams and wails, like waves, continuously washed over Li Mo's soul, making his head feel as if it were about to explode.

Soon, the venomous howls finally disappeared, and the remnant soul hidden in the jade pupil was completely destroyed. Immediately after, he felt a warm current in his head, and the memory seed was successfully planted.

At this point, his total debt was -6,326 points.

...

While Li Mo was sitting on the ground, organizing the items in the 'spatial equipment,' another beam of light appeared in the air. Then, a young man in light silver armor, about sixteen or seventeen years old, with golden hair, appeared in the hall of the Wheel of Rebirth.

In the first instant, he noticed Li Mo, covered in blood, sitting on the ground in a daze. He then drew a short blade from his waist and assumed a defensive posture.

Li Mo also looked up, met the young man's gaze, and then threw the short sword on the ground, shrugging his shoulders to indicate that he was not a threat and had no ill intentions.

He had already asked and knew that the Wheel of Rebirth was extremely similar to the main god space, and killing a teammate from the same camp would deduct 1,000 points, so he wasn't worried about the young man attacking him. If the young man made any unusual moves, the Wheel of Rebirth would give a warning.

Perhaps the strange voice also entered the young man's mind. Li Mo saw him widen his eyes in shock, take a few steps back, quickly assess the surroundings, and then quickly calm down.

After looking at Li Mo, the young man, suppressing his barely concealed excitement, chose a direction opposite to Li Mo, widened the distance, and sat down to rest, seemingly communicating with the mysterious 'Wheel of Rebirth.'

He seems to have excellent qualities! Calm in danger, composed in handling situations.

Li Mo automatically put himself in the mindset of a veteran and secretly evaluated.

...

Not long after, that unique light appeared twice in succession.

Soon, a short, ugly green-skinned goblin appeared in the hall. This creature was dressed in tattered rags that barely covered its private parts, and it seemed to have no sense of shame. Its dirty hair was matted and looked like it hadn't been washed for a long time.

In its left hand, the goblin held a half-eaten raw chicken wing, and in its right hand, it held a broken bowl with a few wild herbs floating inside, probably wild vegetables.

It seemed to be confused by its sudden appearance in the Wheel of Rebirth, standing there with a blank expression, holding the chicken wing and the broken bowl. When it saw Li Mo sitting on the ground, it screamed, dropped the broken bowl, and turned to flee.

Then, it saw the young man with a dagger, a fierce warning expression, and an attack posture. It screamed even more and quickly rolled away, fleeing in the other direction, still not forgetting to pick up the chicken wing that had fallen on the ground.

It seems that the virtue of thrift and frugality is deeply ingrained in the goblin's soul.
