This time it was Ling’er’s turn to be surprised, she looked up and stared at Momo, a look of surprise written all over her sharp face, “Impossible, my master said that this building has a special boundary being knotted, humans aren’t able to enter.”
“Actually, my husband isn’t human,” Momo felt like she was cursing, though she was telling the truth, “That’s probably why!”
“Ah, so.” It dawned on Ling’er.
The two of them exited the elevator one after the other, and Momo exited the building, reaching out to beckon for a taxi, only to find Ling’er still standing behind herself. “Is there a reason for you to follow me?”
“It’s fine, I just want to follow sister, is that okay?” Ling’er twisted her fingers, somewhat embarrassed, “I don’t know where I want to go either, I just came from England and Master is not here today, so, so I came out to play.”
In the end, her voice is almost small enough to be inaudible, Momo listened and laughed, so she is just like me! “Then you should come with me! Um, my husband is also not at home, I’m out for a walk alone, but I’m buying some yarn.”
“Then I’ll go with you, sister.” Ling’er stretched out her hands happily and hugged Momo’s arms, as if she was going to rely on her.
“You don’t have any money with you either, do you?” Momo was skeptical.
“Yeah, I didn’t bring anything, Master said that those things will be stolen.”
It’s okay for being afraid that someone would steal, but you can’t just take that for a reason for not bringing anything, can you? Thinking of those famous Daji and the virtuous White Lady, Momo sighed longingly, they were all evil spirits. “Forget it, you might as well follow me!”
Let’s not have her trouble others, or let others get into trouble with her.
“Well, okay.” Ling’er smiled happily and happily followed Momo to the taxi and headed straight for the commercial street.
When buying something, there are two things that make them feel depressed. One: there is no money in the bag, and that their favorite things kept on flashing across. Second: it is the opposite. She has money in the bag, but she had no way to get the items.
Momo’s current situation fell into the latter category, in order to buy yarn, she dragged Ling’er through shopping malls, supermarkets, hand-knitting shops and eventually even craft workshops. Unfortunately, those mighty people would ask back in a very strange Chinese accent after hearing Momo’s request, “Cat Fairy, what is that?”
“That’s my master.” Ling’er licked the ice-cream cone, shrinking behind Momo and had answered dozens of times.
Momo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, what is this all about? “Ling’er, I know you respect your Master, but is it necessary for you to answer every time? You know they’re forbidden to talk!”
“But, they say the Cat Fairy’s tone is spot on!” Ling’er retorted in a small voice.
Oh, my God! Momo felt even more gloomy, her shoulders collapsed, a defeated look on her face. “Forget it, let’s just go back!”
“So you’re not buying yarn?” Ling’er was a bit reluctant to look back at the display in the craft shop, it was so beautiful, she still wanted to look at it again. It could turn out exactly like the same thing when she went back, how nice it would be to display it at home!
“I already said there isn’t any, where are we supposed to buy it?”
“Yeah, they’re so stingy, they won’t take apart their woolen clothes and sell them,” Ling’er nodded in agreement, “Westerners are just not as good as our Chinese.”
“What do you mean selling woolen clothes?” Momo exasperatedly went to tug at her little hair bun, and as soon as the words came out, it suddenly dawned on her, “Right, why didn’t I think of that? If they don’t want to sell to us, we’ll buy it from somewhere else!”
“Wow, you’re so smart, sister!” Ling’er was impressed.
“Yeah, huh, my Ling’er is smart too!” Momo tidied up her bun with a look of kindness.
……..
The foreigners next to them don’t understand the wonders of Chinese and have gone off to do their own things. Very well, says the Jade Emperor. Shame is not yet upon God, though they are Martians living in China.
The Martian duo, who rendezvoused on Earth, began a happy search for detachable woolen clothes, with the largest size and with the most colour. Oh, that’s good. I want three of those sets. Ling’er decided to give her Master one set as well.
The two people’s hands were full of bags contained with woolen clothes, feeling excited as they rushed out of the shopping mall with satisfaction on their faces. Ling’er’s face was even more excited, she was small and always bought small sizes of clothes. She always felt that she was taken advantage of by those who bought a large size of clothes, today she finally got it back. “Hehe, hehe, hehe~”
Momo felt bothered, stopped at the flower bed in front of the mall. “Ling’er, don’t sing your ethnic songs so loud.”
“Oh,” Ling’er looked back and around, and sure enough, the audience twitched, “I’m sorry, I forgot you didn’t understand.”
With her peculiar way of understanding, Momo didn’t expect any normal answer from her, anyway, she just obeyed and pointed to the lounge chair under the shade. “Let’s sit here and rest before we go!”
“Well, okay.” Ling nodded obediently and sat back in her chair.
Momo sat down next to her and reached out to examine the woolen clothes she had bought, and when she saw it halfway through, she turned around and asked Ling’er, “Ling’er, do you know of anything that can be used to make woolen’ clothes’ needles?”
Ling’er looked up at the branches above, “Well, the branches of this tree will do!”
Momo dropped her head in frustration and didn’t even bother to roll her eyes. She find herself funny, choosing Ling’er to ask…it feels like she wouldn’t get a proper answer!
When Ling’er saw her hanging her head down, she thought that Momo was tired and didn’t bother her, so she got up and went around the tree. She took a deep breath and chanted words out of her mouth. Then, the branch in her hand spun itself, leaves and bark fell from the branch. Ling’er gently turned around, walked over to Momo and sat down, holding four woolen needles in her palm.
“Here, sister, see if this needle is in the right thickness?” Ling’er handed the woolen clothes needle in front of her eyes.
“Where did you get this woolen needle?” Momo was startled.
“It’s made of twigs!”
Following Ling’er’s gaze, Momo found that there were indeed tree branches and bark tree debris under her feet, piled on the side of the tree miserably. She took a deep breath, and raised her head again to look at Ling’er who was waiting for her praise. How could she forget that this girl was a spirit! Under the unified requirements of the Chinese education system and Chinese mythology, our Chinese goblins are multi-talented and versatile. How could she forget that?
Now what to do, Momo already felt like wanting to run away wildly. This is because not far away, two patrolling police officers are walking straight towards them. Poor Momo, who had to face Ling’er, who could not understand the situation, couldn’t cry out. “Ling’er, your woolen clothes’ needle, I guess the police can’t afford to buy from you!”
“Woolen pins are made by me, why do they charge for them?” Ling’er asked indignantly.
“Stupid, because the tree belongs to them, you get it!”
“…….”
“Excuse me for interrupting, two lovely ladies, we are sorry to say that you need to be punished for your actions, which is the dignity of British Empire Law. In view of the serious damage you have done to the trees, we will take some necessary measures,” The tall policeman pulled a pen out of his pocket and opened the ticket quickly, looking up and hesitating for a moment before handing it to the slightly older looking Momo. “Uh, please have your guardian come to the bank within three days and pay the fine of one thousand and one hundred pounds, thanks for your cooperation!”
Momo helplessly looked back at the little troublemaker next to her, sighed, took the ticket, and ran in large bags to the bank designated by the police – to pay the money. And of course, she swiped Na Ze’s card…..
