Chapter 53

After unleashing a meteor shower, Luo Feng was also left with no strength to spare, and he immediately stopped.

Joanna’s aura dissipated, and she praised, "Luo Feng, you’ve become much stronger than when you took the college entrance exam. Your lack of practical combat experience has also improved significantly. Lucia must have trained with you a lot, right?"

Luo Feng humbly replied, "Yes, Sister Lucia has given me a lot of help. Also, thank you for your guidance."

"What’s with the ‘you’? Luo Feng, your relationship with Lucia is special, so there’s no need to be so formal with me," Joanna paused for a moment, "How about this: just call me Sister Joanna, don’t always call me Judge or ‘you.’ I don’t like it."

Luo Feng hesitated, as the person standing before him was a big shot from the Federation Headquarters, and he felt very insignificant in front of her, not daring to be so casual.

However, Joanna was clearly a very decisive person: "Since you don’t object, let’s go with this. Come on, call me once and let me hear it. I don’t have a brother, so I don’t know what it feels like."

Since she had said it to this extent, Luo Feng could only accept, "Okay, Sister Joanna."

"Hehe, this feeling is really nice," Joanna was very satisfied, "Since you’ve called me sister, I can’t just do nothing in return."

As she spoke, she flicked her hand, and a heart-shaped jade pendant appeared in her palm, which she pressed into Luo Feng’s hand, "This Roland Heart can attract purer energy and should be useful for some time. It will benefit your cultivation of Qi."

Such treasures that can assist martial artists in cultivation, especially in Qi cultivation, are of extremely high value. Even the least effective ones, which can be used for the shortest time, are priced in tens of thousands of gold coins. Luo Feng didn’t dare to accept, "Sister Joanna, this is too valuable, I can’t take it."

Joanna didn’t take it back, "Take it. It can only help with attributeless Qi, and it would be wasted on me. Besides, this is my gift for meeting you. Unless you think it’s not as good as the bone-washing elixir from Lucia."

Luo Feng was embarrassed, "I didn’t mean that."

"Since you don’t mind, let’s go with this!" This beautiful and domineering woman always spoke and acted in a very authoritative manner, always saying "let’s go with this" and never giving others a chance to refuse. Luo Feng could only gratefully say, "Thank you, Sister Joanna."

Joanna smiled, "Hehe, that’s better. Let’s call it a day for today. See you next week."

Luo Feng was taken aback, "Next week?"

Joanna said, "There’s nothing urgent at the Federation Headquarters for now, and I won’t be sent on any missions. I’ll be staying in Victoria City for about two months. I can come over on weekends. What, not welcome?"

Luo Feng quickly replied, "No, no, of course welcome."

"That’s good. See you then!" She waved and walked out of the training ground in a very casual manner.

Luo Feng watched her leave, thinking that Sister Lucia’s good friend was truly generous.

Joanna was a very straightforward person. By the time Luo Feng had changed his clothes, she had already left.

Lucia had just seen her off at the door and returned to the living room, where she saw Luo Feng and asked, "How was it? Did you gain anything?"

Luo Feng nodded, "Sister Joanna is really strong. Her air-type Qi is completely different from your dark-type Qi!"

Lucia was puzzled, "Sister Joanna?"

"Yes, she insisted that I call her that, and she even gave me this." Luo Feng took out the heart-shaped jade pendant, "I didn’t want to accept it at first, but she forced it on me, saying it would only help with attributeless Qi and was useless to her, so she gave it to me as a gift for meeting."

"Roland Heart!" Lucia was even more surprised. Joanna hadn’t lied to Luo Feng; the Roland Heart was only suitable for attributeless Qi, but it was something Joanna had worn since childhood. Even without considering its function, it was a very meaningful accessory. Now it had been given to Luo Feng.

This couldn’t be explained simply by the fact that Luo Feng had called her sister. Joanna immediately understood her friend’s intentions.

She wanted to help him, but even with her current strength, she couldn’t eliminate that pirate group. Furthermore, even if Joanna one day became strong enough, she couldn’t do it because she was in the Federation Headquarters, and everything she did could represent the Federation’s stance. Even if she wanted to, she couldn’t help.

Moreover, she knew very well that he wouldn’t accept her help in this way.

However, Joanna knew that he was training Luo Feng hard and saw him as her hope, so she helped in another way by giving him the Roland Heart, which was actually for his sake.

Joanna, thank you!

The following weekend, Joanna indeed came as promised, but it wasn’t just to see Lucia. After a brief chat, she changed into her martial arts uniform and came to the training ground, "Little brother Luo Feng, your opponent tonight is still me. I’ll be your sparring partner!"

With the previous meeting, Luo Feng wasn’t as拘束 (restrained) this time, "Okay, thanks, Sister Joanna."

Joanna pretended to be angry, "If you keep being so polite, I might not be so polite! Oh, no, I won’t be polite anyway. Be careful, because I’m not as ‘gentle’ as your Sister Lucia!"

As she spoke, her aura rose to the Demon Qi stage, and she launched a Vacuum Wave.

Although she was using a blue-level technique, the power at the Demon Qi stage was much stronger than at the Gang Qi stage, and the attack speed was also much faster. Luo Feng only managed to push out a Qi Shock Wave and didn’t have time to run away with a spring step. The remaining half of the cube hit him.

Gang Qi instantly condensed at the point of impact, and the Super Body Defense activated.

At the early stage, air-type Qi was only strong in resistance and toughness, but its killing power was actually less than that of most other types. It wouldn’t burn like fire or cut like metal, which was why Joanna felt confident enough to use such force.

With the protection of the Super Body Defense, the half-cube hitting him felt like being hit by a brick, causing pain but no serious injury.

Instant defense?

Yesterday, Joanna had only let Luo Feng attack without retaliating, so she didn’t know he had such a high-level defensive skill. She was surprised, but a wicked smile soon appeared on her lips.

Very good, since you can use instant defense, I can ‘abuse’ you even more, hehehe...

Although she was just a sparring partner, after raising her aura to the Demon Qi stage, Luo Feng had no chance to fight back. He was hit continuously throughout the night until his aura was exhausted, and only then did Joanna stop.

Although the air-type attacks at this intensity wouldn’t cause internal injuries, the physical pain was inevitable. However, Luo Feng didn’t cry out even once throughout the night. In the past, his aura constitution had problems, and before being cured by the Ten Supreme Beings, he had endured much more suffering for training, so he was already used to it. This surprised Joanna, and she began to look at Luo Feng differently.

A talented martial artist might not necessarily become a super-strong one; they must also have a strong will and be able to endure pain that others cannot. Luo Feng already possessed this acquired condition.

However, she didn’t offer any comfort, which wasn’t her style. She just said, "That’s it for today. See you next week," and then left without any sign of guilt after abusing Luo Feng all night.

When Lucia saw Luo Feng’s condition, she was shocked.

Even with the protection of the Super Body Defense and the lower killing power of low-level air-type techniques, after being hit for so long, Luo Feng’s body was bruised and swollen, looking very pitiful. Lucia couldn’t help but comment, "That Joanna, she’s too harsh. You’re not angry with her, are you?"

"It’s fine, Sister Lucia," Luo Feng smiled calmly, "I know she’s doing this for my own good. Once I can adapt to such high-intensity combat, it will definitely help me a lot!"

"Okay, as long as you understand her intentions. Come, let me apply some medicine to help you heal faster!"
