Chapter 84: The First Alchemy Session

In the dimly lit inner chamber, light occasionally flickered.

Xiao Ai stood in the room, looking at the scattered medicinal herbs on the ground with a troubled expression, her face contorted in extreme bewilderment.

She glanced up at Du Fei, who was sitting cross-legged on the bed, slowly regulating his breathing. For a moment, she didn't know what to feel.

This young master of hers seemed to be no longer the one she once knew. In less than half a year, the things he knew and understood were now completely beyond her comprehension.

And with this, could she still stay by his side?

After a brief moment of hesitation, Xiao Ai quickly shook the thought out of her head. Such thoughts were absolutely unacceptable.

"What's wrong?"

On the bed, Du Fei slowly opened his eyes, gazed at Xiao Ai for a moment, and then said with a half-smile.

"Nothing, I just think that Young Master is much more powerful than before," Xiao Ai said cutely, sticking out her tongue.

"Is that so? I don't feel that way myself," Du Fei laughed, then clapped his hands and whispered, "Alright, you'll have to help me well now. This is my first formal alchemy session, and I won't let you off easily, having found such a hardworking helper!"

As he spoke, Du Fei squinted his eyes for a moment, recalling the formula for the Bone Washing Pill in his mind. Then he lightly clapped his hands, and a surge of true qi shot out, instantly landing on the alchemy cauldron in the center of the room.

"Hum..."

Although it was the same cauldron, it was completely different now. With the injection of Du Fei's true qi, the cauldron slowly floated up. The originally ancient and simple cauldron body now had a faint blue glow, forming a mysterious scene.

Watching this for a moment, Du Fei couldn't help but marvel in his heart. Indeed, alchemy with true qi was completely different from the extremely primitive methods he used before!

Squinting his eyes and staring at the cauldron for a moment, Du Fei gestured for Xiao Ai to step back, then extended his right hand and lightly touched the center of his forehead.

With this action, a mysterious spiritual energy instantly shot out from his forehead, enveloping the cauldron.

After a brief moment of sensing, Du Fei was slightly surprised to discover that although the cauldron looked ordinary on the surface, it had its own internal space. There were strange voids connecting the upper and lower parts, though these voids seemed invisible to the naked eye.

After a brief moment of sensing, Du Fei channeled his true qi, and a dense flow of true qi slowly entered the bottom of the cauldron.

"Whoosh..."

With Du Fei's action, flames shot out from the bottom of the cauldron. These flames were blue, giving off a slightly cold aura. Du Fei knew this was due to the transformation of his true qi.

Seeing this, Xiao Ai on the side was also slightly taken aback. Although she knew that alchemy was incredibly mysterious, she didn't expect that her young master's methods would be so profound.

Ignoring Xiao Ai's expression, Du Fei focused his senses for a moment and then whispered in his heart, "Little White, if I use the Spirit Concentration Pill's power to refine the pill now, will the success rate increase?"

"Beep... Question received, system searching, loading data..."

"Based on the current analysis, if the method of refining pills using pills is used, the success rate will decrease by 20%!"

"You actually know about refining pills using pills... No! Decrease?" Du Fei couldn't help but exclaim in his heart.

"Yes! Given your current strength, using the method of refining pills using pills will only reduce the efficiency of alchemy, so Little White does not recommend it!"

"Uh..."

Speechless for a moment, Du Fei slowly shook his head and then slightly opened his eyes.

Since he couldn't use the method of refining pills using pills, he would use the method of refining pills using qi.

After all, the pill he was going to refine was just a ninth-grade pill, and using qi to refine it should be sufficient.

With a slight movement of his mind, Du Fei again channeled the true qi in his body, pouring it all into the cauldron in front of him. His spiritual energy was also slowly channeled, beginning to finely control the heat in the cauldron.

After a moment, Du Fei felt that the temperature in the cauldron had stabilized. He took a deep breath and whispered, "One portion of Stone Heart Marrow."

Hearing this, Xiao Ai quickly found the required herb from the scattered herbs on the ground and handed it to Du Fei.

Du Fei took it casually, hesitated for a moment, and then threw the Stone Heart Marrow into the upper part of the cauldron.

As soon as the Stone Heart Marrow entered the cauldron, Du Fei didn't have time to react before he heard a "sizzle," and the Stone Heart Marrow turned completely black.

"Is the heat too high?"

Faced with this failure, Du Fei didn't feel too bad. After all, he knew that the current method of alchemy was completely different from the primitive methods he used before. His previous experience was completely useless, and at this moment, he was like a beginner.

"Again!"

Xiao Ai, hearing this, looked at Du Fei with a slightly worried expression and then handed him another portion of Stone Heart Marrow.

This time, Du Fei didn't reach out to take it. Instead, with a thought, his spiritual energy quickly enveloped it and threw it into the cauldron.

Although Du Fei's current spiritual energy wasn't strong, he could still manage this action.

This time, with the spiritual energy enveloping it, the Stone Heart Marrow didn't instantly turn to ashes.

Du Fei quickly withdrew some of his true qi and slowly pulled back the spiritual energy enveloping the Stone Heart Marrow, watching it fall into the cauldron.

"Sizzle..."

Perhaps due to Du Fei's good luck, this time the Stone Heart Marrow didn't turn to ashes. Instead, it rolled around in the cauldron for a moment and formed a sticky, milky white liquid.

"Good!" Du Fei smiled and casually gestured.

Xiao Ai quickly found a jade box and placed it on the ground.

With a slight dispersion of his true qi, Du Fei's right hand moved in the air, and the sticky liquid slowly flew out of the cauldron and fell into the jade box.

Then, Du Fei's mind moved again, and another portion of Stone Heart Marrow fell into the cauldron... Time passed, and during this period, Du Fei had to stop and rest multiple times due to the depletion of his true qi.

However, their hard work wasn't in vain. Through their efforts, the herbs had mostly been refined into medicinal liquids.

Scanning the four refined medicinal liquids in front of him, Du Fei's expression became even more serious.

The previous steps were just a warm-up. The most important part, the formation of the pill, was the real test of his skills.

Although the single pill formula described the method of forming the pill in great detail, he was still a beginner with zero experience!

After a brief hesitation, Du Fei didn't dare to use his spiritual energy recklessly. Instead, he carefully took the required medicinal liquids from the jade box and poured them into the cauldron, then slowly injected true qi.

"Whoosh..."

With the injection of true qi, flames shot out from the upper part of the cauldron, instantly enveloping the medicinal liquids.

This change almost made Du Fei withdraw his true qi.

Fortunately, after a few minutes, the flames in the upper part slowly disappeared, and the four medicinal liquids began to intertwine and mix under the burning of the flames.

Sensing this change, Du Fei exhaled slightly and then again channeled his true qi. At the same time, his spiritual energy instantly spread out.

"Sizzle..."

With Du Fei's action, the mixed medicinal liquids quickly began to roll, and some impurities quickly turned into white smoke and disappeared into the air.

The medicinal liquids quickly gathered together, forming a shape that vaguely resembled a pill.

"Is it almost done?"

Du Fei took a deep breath, and his true qi moved even faster. The flames below instantly boiled, and in the blink of an eye, all the moisture in the pill was evaporated. Under the influence of his spiritual energy, the pill rolled like a clay ball.

"Form..."

With a low shout, Du Fei changed his hand seals, and a strong spiritual energy spread out, forcefully compressing the pill into a thumb-sized lump. Then, with a surge of true qi and flames, the pill was formed.

"Hum..."

With a gentle vibration, a medicinal fragrance spread out, instantly filling the room... "This is a pill, no longer a half-finished waste!" Du Fei's face lit up as he gazed at the pill.

Although it was just a low-grade pill, it was the first pill he had refined on his own.

After putting the pill into a bottle, Du Fei smiled and then threw the bottle to Xiao Ai.

Slightly flustered, Xiao Ai caught the bottle and looked at Du Fei, saying, "Young Master..."

"This Bone Washing Pill should help you break through to the ninth-grade Martial Artist realm. Don't be picky, girl!" Du Fei smiled and said slowly.

"Since Young Master says so, I'll take it as a commission." A smile flashed in her eyes, and then Xiao Ai said softly.

"You're so shrewd!" Du Fei laughed, then his smile faded, "But it won't be so easy from now on... Come, I'll continue refining pills!"

"More?" Xiao Ai exclaimed softly but didn't refuse, quickly bringing Du Fei the items he needed.

With the experience from the first time, Du Fei was more confident this time. After slightly recovering his true qi, the spiritual energy in his forehead continuously surged.

With the surge of spiritual energy, the alchemy process began again... Unconsciously, time slowly passed. As time went by, occasional explosions could be heard in the inner chamber, but most of the time, the room was filled with a fragrant aroma, making one feel refreshed.
