Bu Fan slowly opened his eyes, and what he saw was still that white, inexplicable ceiling!

Three days!

Every day when he woke up from his sleep, Bu Fan hoped that he could return to his original world, to the life of a shut-in in 2016. So he kept forcing himself to sleep.

Since he came here from a dream, he naturally thought he could return to the dream. Unfortunately, for three days, every time he opened his eyes, it was this damned ceiling.

A dream of three hundred years!

Saying it out loud, Bu Fan found it hard to believe. He had just fallen asleep on his own bed after staying up all night playing games, and when he woke up, he was here.

More than three hundred years away from his time, it was already the 24th century according to the Gregorian calendar, and he was inside the body of a young man also named Bu Fan!

"Ah!"

Bu Fan sighed, sat up, and rubbed his messy hair in frustration. Then he turned his head, looking at the residence of this time, three hundred years after his own era, with a hint of inexplicable sadness on his face.

Three days of sleep had not taken him back to the past; instead, it had allowed him to digest about 70-80% of the memories of this Bu Fan he had taken over!

After digesting his memories, Bu Fan's gloomy expression became even more intense, as he realized the situation was even worse than he had imagined.

He got up from the hard bed, wearing his messy pajamas, and slowly walked to the only window in this residence, looking out.

Three hundred years later, there were no unimaginable high technologies as he had imagined, and humanity had not stepped into the interstellar age, establishing a vast empire in the universe.

On the contrary, humanity on Earth was already in a state of self-preservation!

It was said that three hundred years ago, a sudden apocalyptic disaster erupted, with zombies, viruses, and mutated beasts suddenly spreading across the globe overnight!

In addition, floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions occurred simultaneously.

The entire Earth became a hell on earth, and more than half of humanity died within a few days!

That period was called the "Dark Era" by the survivors!

After that, the surviving humans still faced the hunting of zombies and mutated beasts. Countless humans died in the harsh environment, and humanity became the lowest link in the food chain.

However, it seemed that heaven did not want to exterminate humanity. Powerful mutants began to appear among humans, leading the fight against the apocalypse and gradually establishing survivor bases.

The survival war lasted a hundred years before humanity slowly stabilized in the changed environment. Ultimately, thirty-three giant human cities were established globally, and all survivors united to form the Earth Federation to deal with the apocalyptic crisis.

Similarly, the zombies that appeared at the beginning of the apocalypse, after evolving for over a hundred years, began to develop intelligence and slowly evolved into a new, powerful human race.

However, these re-evolved beings had lost their original memories and became a new species. They inherited the cruelty, bloodlust, and savagery of zombies. These intelligent beings gradually gathered, controlling billions of zombies worldwide, and established themselves as a race called the Demon Race!

In addition to the Human Race and the Demon Race, a third race appeared on Earth: the Beast Race. After a hundred years of evolution, many powerful beasts also developed unique intelligence, and many could speak like humans, similar to the legendary monsters.

These powerful beasts also gathered, becoming one of the rulers of Earth.

For the next two hundred years, Earth entered a period of competition among the Human, Demon, and Beast Races. However, among the three races, the Human Race remained the weakest.

And now, Bu Fan was in the Eighth Base City, about to turn eighteen.

"Damn it, if you're going to穿越 (time travel), just time travel! Whether it's to ancient times, parallel worlds, or other dimensions, I would accept it. But you time-traveled to the future, and to such a regressed body, how am I supposed to live?!" Bu Fan suddenly punched the wall beside the window, shouting in anger.

Here, it's necessary to mention some information about Bu Fan's body!

From the beginning of the Dark Era to now, over three hundred years, although humans lagged behind the Demon and Beast Races, they also gradually evolved. Especially the infants born after the environmental changes, their innate qualities were stronger than those of the original humans. Some were even born with the ability to control elements and other powers.

Such humans were called New Humans!

After three hundred years of evolution, all humans had become New Humans. Even those without powers had strong physical attributes, such as immense strength or lightning-fast speed.

However, in this environment, Bu Fan was born with a rare regression.

He had no powers, and his physical attributes were even weaker than those of the average New Human. After testing, his body had regressed to the state of humans before the Dark Era.

In short, he was as weak as humans from three hundred years ago.

Unfortunately, humans are not antiques. The older an antique, the more valuable it is, but for humans, the opposite is true, especially in a world full of danger. Bu Fan's body had already ruled out the possibility of him becoming a Demon Hunter Warrior.

Even more tragically, his twin sister, born with him, was a rare talent with innate powers, able to control both ice and fire. She was a rare New Human genius, and from birth, she was listed as one of the promising talents to be cultivated among the newborns in the Eighth Base City. She was sent to the best school in the city for training and development.

To be fair, Bu Fan's current residence was due to his sister's influence. His parents died in a battle against the Demon Race, and their residence would naturally be reclaimed by the base.

His sister, with her exceptional talent and education at the Eighth Academy, had no worries about housing. However, Bu Fan faced the risk of homelessness.

If orphans like him did not have enough talent to enter the academy, their only option was to join the training camp and become low-level training warriors!

And in this world, training warriors had another name: cannon fodder, those who were sent to die in every war.

With Bu Fan's physical condition, even if he entered the training camp, he would likely be the lowest of the cannon fodder, unable to even complete the most basic training.

Fortunately, his parents' death earned him some compensation, and his sister's exceptional talent helped him secure a small residence. He was allowed to stay without going to the training camp.

However, this residence was not provided to Bu Fan for free. Even with his sister's influence, he still needed to pay the city rent in credit points, as housing resources were extremely tight in the base city.

Considering Bu Fan's young age, the city showed some human touch and required him to pay a small amount of credit points annually, which he could afford with the compensation from his parents' death.

However, this discount would be phased out as Bu Fan grew older. Once he turned eighteen, he would no longer receive the discount.

And in just one day, it would be his eighteenth birthday. After tomorrow, he would need to pay a large amount of credit points to maintain his residence.

"This is the benefit of being a time traveler, right? Heaven will impose great tasks on those it chooses, first by making their wills suffer, by exhausting their muscles and bones, by starving their bodies, by making them poor, and by frustrating their actions... Frustrate your sister!"

Bu Fan could initially comfort himself with these words, but he soon became frustrated and interrupted himself.

"No, time travelers must have benefits. I've read so many novels; without benefits, how could time travelers survive?" Bu Fan quickly frowned, unwilling to accept this.

Then, for the next few hours, Bu Fan began to ransack his small room, trying to recall the golden fingers of the protagonists in the novels he had read.

However, after two or three hours of折腾 (struggle), Bu Fan finally sat on the ground, feeling utterly defeated.

He had really thought about all the golden fingers in his memory, but the results were disappointing!

No inheritance!

No divine weapons!

No cultivation techniques!

Most frustratingly, no system!

Wasn't a system supposed to be a mandatory benefit for time travelers? But no matter how long he called out to the mirror, his voice hoarse, he heard no system binding.

Damn!

Huge damn!

More damn than the sky!

Sitting on the floor, Bu Fan cursed fiercely in his heart, cursing the existence that made him time travel and cursing this damned world!

"You have a new short message!"

At this moment, a pleasant voice reached Bu Fan's ears, a reminder from the smart home assistant.

Bu Fan walked to the computer in a daze, opened the email notification, and a wooden avatar appeared on the screen.

"Mr. Bu Fan, according to our records, you will turn eighteen tomorrow. At that time, you will no longer be eligible for the minor benefits for military dependents. The credit points in your identity card are insufficient to pay the next month's rent. Therefore, we must remind you in advance that if you do not pay the regular rent by the end of this month, we will have to ask you to leave the government welfare housing. Thank you for your cooperation!"

The avatar then disappeared from the screen, and Bu Fan sat on a chair nearby, feeling dejected. This was the final notice from the government to evict him.

"Damn it, I'll go out and find a job. I don't believe I can't find one!" Bu Fan looked at the avatar that had disappeared on the screen, suddenly stood up, and shouted in anger!

A living person can't be starved to death!
