Chapter 39

Imir watched as Spider-Man was ensnared by Doctor Octopus’s metal tentacles, his body trembling slightly, indicating that he had heard the message. Although he did not want to reveal himself, it seemed that if he could save Spider-Man without causing too much trouble, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Doctor Octopus used two of his metal tentacles to prop himself up, while the other two held Spider-Man in front of him. This was his enemy, the sinner who had been ruining his experiments all along.

“Got you, you poor spider fool...” Doctor Octopus’s face was expressionless, but the eyes behind his sunglasses emitted a faint glint of malice.

The Shocker, the Vulture, Rhino, and the others gathered about a meter away from Doctor Octopus, but they dared not get too close to the mad doctor. They could see that Doctor Octopus was in a state of frenzy, and if he were to hurt them, what would they do? Villains, after all, always valued their lives, especially their own.

Imir floated to eye level with Doctor Octopus, feeling a bit troubled. Although he had gained abilities beyond those of a normal person, he lacked experience in dealing with such a super-villain. Doctor Octopus was not like the old Babu or the Red Skull, and if Matt were here, it would be better to leave this to a professional like Daredevil.

Doctor Octopus was certain that someone was hiding in the shadows, the feeling of being watched could not just be his imagination. He cautiously manipulated Spider-Man with his metal tentacles, shaking him back and forth like a mouse caught by a child.

Peter felt dizzy, and if the person speaking in his ear didn’t act soon, he would vomit up last night’s dinner.

Ugh, he couldn’t think about it; the more he thought about it, the more dizzy and nauseous he felt.

“Still not showing yourself?” Doctor Octopus extended his arms, taking Spider-Man from the tentacles and gripping him by the neck. He addressed the air around him, “You still won’t come out? I can feel you...”

“What is he talking about?” Chameleon turned his head and looked around, puzzled. Besides the six evil villains, there was only Spider-Man, who was being held like a rag doll by Doctor Octopus.

Is there someone else here? It seemed strange!

“Do you really want to see me?” A faint voice came from behind Doctor Octopus, but it was clear.

Doctor Octopus tightened his grip on Spider-Man, a smile appearing on his face. He was not afraid of any powerful enemy, only the unknown hidden in the shadows: “Come out, or I’ll strangle him.”

“Aren’t you afraid of me?” Imir’s eyes glowed with a ghostly green light, and he read Doctor Octopus’s thoughts from the ghostly fire.

“Ha ha, this is interesting, thinking you’re fearless? No, no, you’re already afraid of me.”

“Ah!” Doctor Octopus’s face turned angry. How could he be afraid? Feeling belittled by an invisible enemy, a weak bio-electric current spread from his brain.

The powerful metal tentacles, without a specific target, swept across like a tidal wave, destroying all the shops and cars on the New York streets one by one, as if in a doomsday movie.

Faint electrical arcs flashed on the metal tentacles, and the sound of destruction echoed everywhere.

Faced with the almost irrational Doctor Octopus, even the other five super-villains dared not confront him directly, quickly jumping out of the range of the tentacles.

Such a powerful figure, like a destroyer from a legend, could he also feel fear?

No! Doctor Octopus would use his strength to say “no” to Imir.

Imir’s power came from negative emotional energy, and the stronger the fear, the greater his power. If Doctor Octopus truly had no fear of Imir, as he claimed, it would be a real problem for Imir.

If they faced off in a fair one-on-one battle, Imir, with his invisibility, floating, and incorporeal ghostly form, could only maintain a stalemate. But once the enemy felt even a hint of negative emotion, he would face an unsolvable supernatural nightmare.

“Is that so, Doctor Octopus? Then let me see what your fear is.”

Imir’s eyes burned with ghostly fire, and a subtle wave of negative energy spread out. Even Spider-Man and the others in the room felt a deep, inexplicable fear.

It was like the mental shock one feels when facing the most terrifying thing in their life. Fortunately, Imir’s current power was not overwhelming, and they were not his direct targets.

However, even so, except for Chameleon, who had received interference training and had some unknown secrets, the others were as if they had been attacked by a nightmare, feeling weak and powerless.

“Who, who are you...” Doctor Octopus’s words were cut off as he felt a surge in his brain, as if something had invaded it.

Imir followed Doctor Octopus’s fear and entered his mind, laughing softly, “You can call me Wraith.” He didn’t add a “-man” suffix, as it was just a name he made up to avoid revealing his true identity.

“Dr. Otto, Mr. Harry Osborn is here.”

“Where am I?” Imir did not give Doctor Octopus a chance to resist. He felt a moment of dizziness, and when everything returned to normal, he was sitting in his familiar laboratory.

Otto suddenly seemed to remember something, covering his forehead. This scene seemed familiar, but he couldn’t recall when it happened: “Please bring Mr. Harry in.” He heard his own voice say.

“Ha ha, Dr. Otto, the Nobel Prize is in your pocket, we will all achieve success and make a fortune...”

Harry Osborn, wearing a suit and sunglasses, with the youthful vigor and a touch of business leader’s air, walked in. At this point, he had taken over his father’s Osborn Corporation and could be considered a successful person.
