Chapter 45

"Oh no, this doesn't look good." The situation, which had paused momentarily due to the abnormality with Doctor Octopus, suddenly took a turn for the worse. Leading the charge were the Chameleon and the Scorpion, followed by the mysterious figure and Shocker, all rushing towards Spider-Man.

Sure enough, among these people, only Rhino remained the most decent, staying by Doctor Octopus's side as if he wanted to figure out what was wrong with the doctor.

However, this not-so-bright "honest man" was at a loss when he saw Doctor Octopus fall into a deep sleep, unsure of what to do.

It was truly strange that Doctor Octopus could fall asleep during a battle and even continue to get injured in his dreams. Could it be that he was still fighting in his dreams? From a certain perspective, Rhino's guess was quite accurate.

However, Doctor Octopus wasn't fighting; he was purely on the receiving end of a beating.

He didn't dare get too close to Doctor Octopus's body, as a cold chill emanated from it. This chill made Rhino feel a sense of danger, different from the danger he faced when fighting Spider-Man. He could smell the fear of death in this danger.

He stared blankly at Doctor Octopus, and suddenly, two streams of tears flowed out from under the doctor's sunglasses, quickly evaporating into steam. What was going on? Rhino's gaze towards Doctor Octopus became even more complex. He had never heard of Doctor Octopus having fire abilities.

Unable to resist, he reached out to touch Doctor Octopus's metal tentacles, but before he could make contact, he felt the intense heat radiating from them.

At that moment, Doctor Octopus was being burned by Imir in his nightmare...

On the other side, Spider-Man was dealing with the four super-villains who had surrounded him. For him, fighting four or five alone made no difference; he would be outnumbered either way.

Fortunately, his spider-sense was working well in this critical moment, and it didn't malfunction or fail.

So, despite looking a bit ragged under the super-villains' attacks, Spider-Man managed to dodge all the fatal blows with his super agility.

The situation had tilted in favor of the villains, and Spider-Man was inwardly lamenting his bad luck for the day.

Just then, a massive body was thrown from behind, flying through the air and colliding with the Chameleon and the Scorpion. The super-villains, who had been focused on Spider-Man and not guarding their backs, were caught off guard by this sudden attack.

"What... the hell is going on..." Shocker, the unluckiest of them all, was knocked to the ground by Rhino's body, pinned beneath him, and he cursed intermittently.

Spider-Man extended his hand, shot a web, and swung through the air to avoid the flying Rhino. From his vantage point, he immediately noticed that Doctor Octopus, who had been in a deep sleep, was now moving again.

His mechanical tentacles, which were usually metallic, now glowed a faint red, as if they had been heated by a flame.

"Is it Doctor Octopus? Did he attack us?" Rhino sat up, looking confused. His thick skin had saved him from what would have been a fatal blow.

Shocker, trapped under Rhino, struggled to move. "Damn it, get off me first!"

As soon as Doctor Octopus woke up, he saw Rhino swaying his gray horns in front of him, looking lecherous and trying to investigate something. Without much thought, he swung two metal tentacles behind him.

Like a bowling ball, Rhino was sent flying and crashed into his companions, who were focused on attacking Spider-Man.

Doctor Octopus paused for a moment, then slowly approached Shocker and the others, his metal tentacles flailing wildly, delivering a barrage of indiscriminate, full-coverage attacks.

His attacks were not just aimed at Spider-Man but also included his temporary allies, the mysterious figure, the Scorpion, and others.

The Chameleon screamed, "Doctor Octopus, have you gone mad?"

Doctor Octopus's tentacle attacks were not as wild as before but seemed highly rational. Everyone in the field, including Spider-Man, was affected to some degree by his attacks.

Depending on their strength and evasion skills, each of them suffered different injuries. No one could emerge unscathed from Doctor Octopus's indiscriminate attack.

Spider-Man, unable to dodge in time, was hit hard on the chest by Doctor Octopus's metal tentacle. The web he shot towards the tentacle was burned to a crisp by the residual heat.

Doctor Octopus, with his one-man power, managed to injure Spider-Man, something that Shocker and the others couldn't achieve, proving his strength was indeed the strongest in this evil group.

Fortunately, Peter, with his spider abilities, had developed a superhuman resistance to damage. Despite the heavy blow, he didn't lose his ability to move. He jumped onto the wall of a building and watched the internal conflict of the Sinister Six with caution.

After a strong wave of attacks, the field fell silent. The Chameleon, the Scorpion, and the others all focused on Doctor Octopus, who was surrounded by them. The Scorpion glared at Doctor Octopus and asked, "Dr. Otto, have you lost your mind? How dare you attack us all at once?"

Although his words were harsh, his body remained still. The Scorpion could see that Doctor Octopus had changed significantly after the transformation.

But exactly what had changed, no one could pinpoint.

Dr. Otto didn't take his temporary allies seriously. He continued to advance slowly, muttering in a low voice, "No, you're wrong. This is the most lucid moment of my life."

Without further explanation, the four metal tentacles flew up again, smashing down on Shocker and the others, still delivering the same full-coverage attack.

In an instant, the field descended into chaos. None of these super-villains were the type to take a beating without fighting back.

Facing Doctor Octopus's attacks, they each retaliated in their own way.

"Stop it, don't let Spider-Man escape... you damn fools..." The voice from the earpiece was angry and powerless. His orders were ignored by the super-villains, who were now out of control.
