Chapter 72

In the movie, JARVIS can help Iron Man handle various tasks and independently perform various information calculations. It can also assist him in developing his armor, and even the upgrades to the Arc Reactor cannot be done without its help.

When Tony puts on the armor, it automatically performs an iris scan to ensure that the armor is not accessed by outsiders.

Ymir, filled with malicious thoughts, mused, "And the most terrifying thing is that JARVIS is a super program, not a specific computer. The reason it is omnipresent might be because it can autonomously transfer itself to any digital terminal, similar to cloud backup. This means that as long as there are computers in the world, JARVIS will not disappear."

This ability immediately made him think of the Skynet system from the *Terminator* movies.

Suppose a super-criminal were to infiltrate JARVIS's main control program and operate it. Could a "Judgment Day" scenario unfold in this Marvel world, leading to a grand battle between Terminators and superheroes?

From what Ymir learned from the *Avengers* movies, JARVIS can at least break through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s firewall. S.H.I.E.L.D. is a secret organization, and its various security measures are ahead of the world's standards.

He was quite looking forward to it. If Ymir had the talent for hacking, he would have tried to create an AI like JARVIS himself.

Or, perhaps, he could buy one from Iron Man when he meets him in the future?

Thinking about this, Ymir's face suddenly drooped. He remembered that although he wasn't poor enough to beg on the streets, his family's financial situation wasn't affluent enough for him to buy anything from Tony.

Stark Industries' products have always had two attributes: the first is perfect quality, and the second is a high price!

This is what Kathleen and Ymir said. The price is so high that even Stark Industries' own employees find it unbelievable, but what can you do when Tony is a genius?

The weapons he creates force the Department of Defense to buy them despite the pain...

But it seems he's getting off-topic. Ymir forced himself to focus back on the TV, where Dr. Connors and Peter were trying to insert gene segments. Dr. Connors asked, "Can you see what I'm doing?"

"First, suppress the protein, suppress the immune response, start the experiment..." The virtual white mouse was modeled based on Freddy's data, but in the current experimental algorithm, it quickly failed and died due to a rejection reaction.

Mrs. Connors put in the last tape.

Spider-Man and Ymir believed that if Dr. Connors had left any useful advice, it would likely be on this tape.

"Input the shrink gas algorithm... regeneration complete... vital signs normal... blood pressure normal... limb regeneration successful..."

The successful data derivation sound from the computer did not bring Dr. Connors joy. He had heard the same sound thousands of times over the past few days. However, the algorithm was still unbalanced, with a fatal flaw.

Spider-Man was crouched in front of the TV, almost lying on the screen.

In the video, Dr. Connors was no longer in his well-equipped research institute. From the background, it looked more like a hidden place in the New York sewers.

"Experiment IAD-9527, subject: Curt Connors, current temperature: 89.7 degrees Fahrenheit, stable for 48 hours."

Dr. Connors, pale-faced and not as energetic as usual, stood in front of a small blackboard, frowning as he worked on the algorithm: "Blood tests show that lymphocytes and monocytes are normal, coagulation rate has significantly increased, and muscle response strength and elasticity have significantly improved."

He took off his glasses, trembling, and said to the small camera, "Vision has also improved; the subject no longer needs glasses..."

Everything seemed to be going well, but if the experiment was really this smooth, Dr. Connors should be on his way to receiving the Nobel Prize, not squatting in the sewers like a cold-blooded reptile.

Unless, this experimental result has a side effect or negative reaction that cannot be accepted by the world...

"The next experiment is no longer about treating diseases. It is about seeking perfection, finding a way to perfectly control the hybrid gene results without any side effects."

Dr. Connors rolled up his sleeve and casually wiped his arm with medical alcohol: "To solve the problem of regenerative degeneration, I increased the dose of the balancing agent to 200 milligrams..."

He closed his eyes and forcefully pressed the syringe into the vein on his arm, slowly injecting the green liquid into his body.

Because he had previous experience with similar injections, there was almost no rejection reaction. Almost immediately after the injection, a ring of bright green scales appeared on Dr. Connors' neck.

"The experiment has failed again; the hybrid gene is uncontrollable." Dr. Connors' body convulsed, and he broke out in a cold sweat. He knew this was a sign that he was about to transform.

Transforming into an ugly large lizard, Dr. Connors knocked over the camera in front of him, and his three-toed foot suddenly lifted.

Dr. Connors, now a lizard, still seemed to have some rationality. Perhaps to leave a complete experimental record for future researchers, he heavily placed his foot on another spot, preserving the fragile home camera.

The failure enraged the lizard, and he began to smash everything in sight. Ymir now understood why Dr. Connors had moved out of the research institute before Spider-Man discovered his existence and chose to continue his experiments in the sewers with these inferior instruments.

It seemed that Dr. Connors was fully aware of his personality after transforming into a lizard. Although he couldn't control it, he could try to avoid damage.

"Truly a brutal soul, it brings joy to the heart." Just as the lizard Dr. Connors gradually calmed down, an old man's murmur came from the camera.

"The Devil's Whisper!" Ymir was startled; he was absolutely certain he had heard this voice before.

Unfortunately, the camera was knocked over, and it couldn't capture the appearance of the visitor. Only an old man in black trousers and black shoes slowly walked into the frame, his cane tapping lightly on the ground. The camera emitted a burst of static and temporarily lost its function.
