From Father Terence's enthusiastic and rambling description, Ymir learned how vulnerable he would be in front of Magdalena without using his ghost abilities. Without the ghost body and various superpowers, Ymir's actual combat ability was no different from that of an ordinary person.
Even less so than a well-exercised adult, after all, his body, when alive, was only used for reading and not for the luxury of spending money at the gym.
The only thing to be happy about was that perhaps due to the awakening of the divine bloodline hidden in his body, Ymir had gained almost infinite recovery and endurance.
This was not very helpful to a dead person, but it could provide some cover for his true abilities.
"So, I really am a weakling..." Ymir spread his hands, feeling helpless and dejected. Father Terence was trying to persuade him to join the church's unified magic training.
"Only through a reasonable training system can your strength grow as much as possible," Father Terence said patiently. "Whether it's the mysterious magic or the orderly science, as long as you master a certain method and learn step by step, you will definitely gain something."
Ymir listened to Father Terence's introduction, stroked his chin, and pondered, "But, just because I am a descendant of the Longinus family, I can receive so much favor?"
After spending a long time in the Saint Knight Library, Ymir could clearly understand how rare it was to become a formal member of the Saint John's Knights, let alone the church's special magic training, which many people could not even dream of.
Father Terence made the sign of the Trinity on his chest: "This is God's blessing; He has chosen you, child."
"But, I think my strength is enough to protect myself, and I have already started learning magic," Ymir referred to his ghost abilities, but Father Terence was clearly unaware.
He looked into Ymir's eyes and said earnestly, "Whether you believe it or not, child, our world is being coveted with fatal intent. Only with greater strength can we protect what we want to preserve."
Ymir closed his mouth and, after a long pause, said, "Oh, come on, the end of the century and the millennium are long gone, and 2012 hasn't even arrived yet. My point is, Father, how can there be so many world ends, and where do they start?"
"America, New York, the city we are in now!" Father Terence said firmly, leaving no room for doubt.
Ymir was taken aback, a hint of a strange expression on his face, and he smiled without a word, "Like what is said in the Book of Revelation? Michael blows the last trumpet, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse come from the sea, bringing war, plague, famine, and death, for the final judgment?"
Shaking his head, Father Terence sighed, "Of course not. How could the merciful Lord abandon His children? The disaster does not come from heaven but from the gaze of the evil gods, not the end of the century but the day of destruction."
"Evil gods?" Ymir stretched lazily and said frankly, "Father, what exactly do you want to tell me? It's not that the glory of the angels is about to descend upon the earth, leading us to defeat the evil gods, and the church will rise again, is it?"
"Angels are real, and so are the gods," Father Terence said.
Ymir had no objections to this. He remembered Thor's appearance in "The Avengers" and had reason to suspect that the entity residing in Magdalena's body was an angel from heaven.
He sighed, "I understand, Father, but we are in the 21st century, and the religious system is already outdated."
Father Terence shook his head, wondering why he hadn't noticed that one of his students was an atheist. How did he manage to get into the seminary?
The poor Father Terence had forgotten that he had used his privilege to forcibly transfer Ymir from the School of Engineering and Applied Science to the seminary.
He cleared his throat seriously and said, "Well, not talking about theology? Fine, let's talk about science, child. Have you heard of the Einstein-Rosen Bridge theory?"
Seeing Ymir's confused look, Father Terence explained, "This is the wormhole theory proposed by Albert Einstein, which, in simple terms, is a fine tube connecting distant regions of the universe."
"Proposed in the 1930s by Einstein and Nathan Rosen, it connects parallel worlds to our world and provides the possibility of space-time travel."
Ymir interjected, "It's just a hypothesis, right?"
After a moment of silence, Father Terence stood up from the bench and gestured, "Not confirmed by science, but according to our church's records, such passages do exist. For example, the ritual for the descent of angels and the magic circle for summoning demons are actually used to communicate with the Rosen Bridge. Now, the gates of the multiverse are about to open on Earth."
"In some theories, we can understand it this way," Father Terence worried that Ymir might not understand the deep theory, so he tried to make his words as simple and direct as possible, "Our world is roughly located at the center of many star regions in the universe. Especially the nine major star regions are connected through our world, and in mythology, we often call it the World Tree, the Great World, etc."
"The names may differ, but they all refer to the same thing, which we see every day but do not realize. In Europe, people once used a super-large neutron collider to experiment, forcibly penetrating the cosmic barrier to open a spatial rift, and this spatial rift is a passage to other star regions."
"Is God an alien?" Ymir, hearing about the Rosen Bridge and the nine star regions, found it somewhat familiar but couldn't remember where he had heard it before.
"No, no, not an alien," Father Terence shook his head again and pointed to the sky, "The so-called star regions are just names. In fact, heaven and hell are higher-dimensional spaces above our Earth, parallel to our world but coexisting in an infinite universe."
The universe is infinitely vast, containing infinite dimensions, like a thick storybook. It contains many pages, each page recording a story, each page being a relatively independent yet interconnected dimensional world.
Father Terence said, "And we are in such a world, and it is the most important 'Middle Court' world. There are countless evil forces in the universe that seek to claim our world for themselves, and they will stop at nothing. Now, their evil gaze is focused here."
