Their eyes met and they acknowledged each other silently.

But after waiting for five minutes, they grew impatient. This was because the people they were waiting for did not show up.

“Something is not right. Why is Cheng not here yet?”

“Ren is not here too. Isn’t he the one behind this operation?”

“Don’t tell me they are playing us.”

“Get in touch with them. We better not do anything reckless before they get here.”

Those that had success in the City of Death came through a mighty struggle to reach this position. They would not have survived to this day if they were not being extremely vigilant.

They reached for their communicators and called for their accomplices.

“Ringg! The communicator could not be reached at the moment!”

The aptitude user was stunned. The same happened to the other guy. Their expressions changed and they had a bad feeling.

One of them quickly tried to reach the others.

“Ringg! The communicator could not be reached at the moment!”

“Ringg!”

Master Cheng had actually recruited a total of seven aptitude users for this operation. They were aiming for Qin Feng’s possession and the loot would be diluted if there were too many people. They agreed to join because each of them was promised at least 6 trillion if the assassination were successful.

Some did not even get the offer.

Unexpectedly, none of the remaining five participants’ communicators were online.

“Something’s wrong.” One of the aptitude users felt a chill down his spine. He could tell that some unforeseen mishap must have happened. “Forget this. Let’s retreat first.” The guy suggested.

The other nodded in agreement. They did not return to their base immediately but went to Master Cheng and Master Ren’s places first.

Of course, they would not find anything there. These people had evaporated into thin air in one night.

Qin Feng slept soundly through the night.

In contrast to Qin Feng, Jin Fei had a rough night. He barely slept, being wary of the possibility that C-tier bosses might come for his life at any time.

The next morning, Qin Feng woke up and had the chef prepare a feast for them.

“Come and join us. I have something to ask you.” Qin Feng pointed at one of the seats.

“Thanks, Boss!” Jin Fei sat down obediently and began to eat carefully. He did not want to embarrass himself with improper table manners. But he quickly found that Qin Feng and Bai Li were rather carefree.

Seeing that, Jin Fei began to relax.

“Boss, what do you wish to know?”

Qin Feng asked, “Which manufacturer has the biggest firearms production in the City of Death? Or who is the most famous in this industry?”

Jin Fei was very familiar with such information and explained immediately, “There are numerous processing factories inside the city. They are mostly built on the cliff, which is why the sky of this city is always covered by poisonous mist.”

“Among them, there are two most well-known firearm makers. One is known as Long San. He is a C2-tier and happens to be a gunner. He possesses D-tier firearm forging skills and emphasizes on producing high-class weapons.”

“But Han Wen is the one making more money. He is a C5-tier ancient warrior with great influence in the city. He dominates almost up to 70% of the market.”

Qin Feng nodded but suddenly thought of something.

‘What a coincidence!’

One of the aptitude users that Qin Feng had killed last night was C2-tier.

Of course, Qin Feng would not go and investigate his identity himself.

“Help me to check on this Long San later.”

Jin Fei did not know what Qin Feng had in mind but he did not voice his doubt. He promised he would do it and walked out of Qin Feng’s villa right after breakfast. .

But if someone used consciousness to track him, he would have no way to hide.

Qin Feng walked out of the gym. Jin Fei felt that he was scarier than any D-tier he had met before as a strong aura still lingered around the newly-promoted Qin Feng.

He was way beyond those at the same tier as him.

“Speak.”

“Gulp.” Jin Fei initially believed that someone must have tried to frame Qin Feng. He was not so sure now. “Long San has disappeared. Someone said that he was killed and his body had been obliterated. Not only that but nine other C-tier aptitude users went MIA since last night too. It’s rumored that you are the culprit behind all these.”

Qin Feng nodded. “I am.”

Jin Fei was stunned.

“Since Long San left behind such a huge asset, I am going to claim it.” Qin Feng got up and got dressed in his battle suit. “Lead me to this factory of his.”

“Ah! Sure!”

Jin Fei showed Qin Feng the destination on the map and they headed there in Qin Feng’s hover car.

The workers of the factory were in full panic mode. But since this firearm factory was one of the top three businesses under Long San, the place was still heavily guarded. After Long San was found missing, most of the D-tiers had gathered at the factory.

There were a total of thirteen men and none of them believed Long San had been assassinated.

But, most people actually believed the rumor.

Qin Feng was not the first to come to the factory. A group of people had actually “visited” the compound before him.

The news was leaked around 12 o’clock and most of the big guns got the update long before that. They had secretly carved up most of the resources that once belonged to Long San, and the firearm factory inevitably became everyone’s target thereafter.

Long San’s firearm business was not the most profitable one as it focused on high-end tech over applicability. The factory was built to serve his own purpose since Long San was a gunner. As such, he had hired thirty researchers to work for him in the factory.

Such a business did not earn as much as Han Wen’s arsenal. But Han Wen was not dead.

It was the last place that came to the big guns’ minds after they had swallowed up most of the other companies. They sent someone to take over the place and in the end, four people from different factions bumped into each other at the factory.

“This factory belongs to our boss from today onward!”

“First come first serve. Scram!”

“Get the hell out of here if you don’t want to die!”

Seeing that the situation had come to an impasse, they had no choice but to call for backup.

Soon, a few hundred D-tier aptitude users arrived at the factory. The thirteen D-tiers under Long San had decided to stay out of it and waited to join whichever faction that came out on top in the end.

As things escalated, eventually the C-tier bosses were forced to come out personally.

Qin Feng’s hover car arrived at the scene when they had come to an agreement.

Jin Fei exited the car hastily and wanted to open Qin Feng’s car door for him. But Qin Feng was not a resident in this city and he could not care less about such unnecessary culture. He stepped out of the car before Jin Fei reached for the door handle.

Qin Feng scanned the crowd outside the factory. Jin Fei followed his sight and was frightened when he saw the four bosses.

“Boss, they are obviously fighting for factory ownership. These four are some of the most dangerous gang bosses in this city,” Jin Fei introduced in a low voice.

The four C-tier aptitude users looked toward Qin Feng simultaneously.

They immediately recognized Qin Feng after yesterday’s incident at the Secret Tower of Death.

Though Qin Feng’s power was off the charts, he did not have a gang in the City of Death. Thus, he was unable to claim any property after assassinating ten bosses.

Nobody expected Qin Feng to appear at the factory.

Qin Feng walked over slowly and stopped about ten meters away from the bosses.

“So you guys have your eyes on this factory too?” Qin Feng asked coldly.

Those C-tiers’ expressions immediately changed.

One of them looked at Qin Feng in horror.

He was one of the men that sneaked outside Qin Feng’s villa yesterday night. He was the one who certified that the ten missing men were dead after visiting their houses.

Though there were no corpses to be found, they were certain Qin Feng was the culprit based on the dark rune remnants and faint inner strength trail left at the scene.

Now, the brutal killer had suddenly come out of nowhere.

The C-tier instinctively made the wisest choice out of fear. “Hmph, such a lousy place is not worth sacrificing my man’s life. I am out. Retreat!”

His underlings looked at their boss puzzlingly at the sudden change in attitude but they went away with him without complaint. About thirty men left the factory after the C-tier opted out.

The other three C-tiers were shaken too. They were carefully weighing the cost and consequence in their minds.

Of course, not every one of them believed that Qin Feng was the murderer.

Besides, they were also very interested in Qin Feng’s wealth.

“So what if we do? Your name is Qin Feng, right? Don’t tell me you are thinking of taking over this factory as well?” One of the remaining C-tiers bawled.

According to Jin Fei earlier, the one who had spoken was called Chang Ming. He was a solid C-tier ancient warrior with great physical strength.

“Yes. I am interested in this factory. I would appreciate it if the three of you withdraw at once.” Qin Feng answered.

The other two C-tiers were stunned by what he said.

Chang Ming, however, continued to mock Qin Feng, “Don’t be so full of yourself. I am not buying it. Let me call your bluff.”

Since Qin Feng had proven that he was invincible among the D-tiers in the Secret Tower of Death, Chang Ming decided to challenge him personally.

He did not use any particular art but simply charged at Qin Feng bluntly with his internal power concentrated at the front of his palm.

The force of the palm was not only aimed at Qin Feng but encapsulated Jin Fei in it as well.

Qin Feng promptly made his move. He grabbed on Jin Fei and fell back speedily with Dragon Steps.

The ground instantly shattered upon impact.

Chang Ming was indeed a scary opponent.

The D-tier subordinates could clearly feel the pressure oozing out from Chang Ming. The two C-tiers were in awe too.

‘Chang Ming had once again improved!’ They wondered whether the fact that he could progress so quickly was because of his simple mind.

Chang Ming attacked again but Qin Feng moved a tad earlier this time.

“If you don’t believe me, then ask those men when you see them in hell!”

Qin Feng disappeared after he said that.

In the next instance, he resurfaced right behind Chang Ming.

A fuchsia saber appeared in Qin Feng’s hand.

The next moment, fuchsia magma collided with Chang Ming’s internal force shield.

Chang Ming was shocked. He turned and barely evaded the incoming saber.

“Master Yuan, I am not going to turn on you just because of one tiny factory. You are free to have it.” One of the C-tiers threw the ball to Master Yuan and left hurriedly.

The last C-tier stood there, half angry, half nervous. His mind was racing to find a proper excuse.

Qin Feng’s sight fell on the last boss.

“Boss, this is Yuan Tian, a C5-tier ancient warrior…” Jin Fei did not continue as he realized it was no longer necessary. Unlike Chang Ming, C-tier bosses in this city often avoided getting involved in a battle.

Qin Feng nodded and said, “Master Yuan, I am really fond of this factory. I hope you don’t mind passing it to me.”

Before Yuan Tian could say anything, one of his underlings rebuked, “Who do you think you are? How dare you speak to our boss like that?”

Though Qin Feng had defeated Chang Ming, Yuan Tian was at an entirely different level. They wished to teach Qin Feng a lesson seeing his arrogance.

More so, they were jealous of Qin Feng.

The other one was Guo Guan’s nephew named Guo Song. He was a twenty-nine-year-old D-tier ancient warrior.

Thus, Guo Guan forced a calm demeanor and turned toward Qin Feng. “Boss, should we flee? It’s a D-tier beast emperor!”

Yet, all he got was a calm reply from Qin Feng, “Flee? Why?”

Indeed, these turtles were all beast emperor type. And there were eleven of them in total.

These were Decamillennium Turtles, or in short “Deca Turtles”. And as their names implied, each one of these monsters had lived for over ten thousand years.

These turtles were giant warriors that were quite formidable in the water. However, they did not evolve to have water based runes on them; thus, all they had were sturdy turtle shells and powerful jaws.

Thus, when they left the waters, these Deca Turtles were nothing but easy targets!

Massive explosions instantly turned the two Deca Turtles over on their backs.

Whoosh!!!! Boooom!!

And another shot from the aircraft, turning another Deca Turtle over.

Qin Feng’s attacks were carefully calculated, aiming all his shots at the turtles’ feet.

Thus, in mere minutes, the rest of the Deca Turtles were now all facing the sky with all their feet in the air. They could not move at all now, posing no threat whatsoever to humanity.

Jin Fei, Guo Guan and the E-tier pilot’s jaws were rolling on the ground as they watched this.

Indeed, it was possible to do this. Yet, to actually do this, it would require a mix of sharply-tuned skills and luck.

The turtle shells exploded. Flesh and shell fragments darted out miles into the air, giving one a glimpse of just how powerful the explosion inside the shells were. Naturally, this had hurt the Deca Turtles tremendously.

Guo Guan’s eyes were so widened that it felt as though his eyeballs wanted to climb out of his eye sockets to watch closely what was going on outside.

Refract Shot was a high tier technique amongst the D-tier aptitude users. However, it was quite difficult to master. Even to this day, there were only a handful of C-tiers who knew how to do it.

And the reason was simple, really.

The projectiles that could be used for Refract Shots were often energy beams. And the beams were not only strong, they were fast—making it difficult for one to control their aim.

Nonetheless, this was a really valuable technique to master. Refract Shot could alter the projectiles’ direction, making it quite difficult to predict their trajectory. If one were to use this in a gunfight, it could end an opponent’s life before he even sees where the shots came from.

Not only that, if the enemies were also using energy beams, the Refract Shot users could also deflect the oncoming attacks too, making them virtually invisible in a gunfight.

Of course, as mentioned earlier, to master Refract Shot would require a lot of training. If one’s focus was not honed to perfection, it would be almost impossible to pull it off.

As the main cannons and sub-cannons lit up again, the aircraft started to rain another round of shots from above.

Energy rays rained down from the sky at a rate that was quite difficult to follow with mortal eyes, dazzling every onlooker that was trying to observe the battle.

Guo Guan widened his eyes in disbelief as he watched Qin Feng’s aircraft maneuver. It felt as though this man was doing something impossible for a human being every single minute at the pilot seat.

The whole aircraft was about three hundred meters in length, equipped with several heavy duty main cannons, thousands of sub-cannons and other weaponries. It would take a lot of focus for Qin Feng to pull this off.

Yet, Qin Feng did not seem to be strained by the ordeal of piloting the aircraft using his consciousness.

“Thanks to Godwill Atlas, I have acquired the art of multi-tasking via training. No one can top my skill in multi-tasking!”

Seeing that Qin Feng had already beaten the beast emperors to a pulp, Guo Guan hurried to one of the controls and took control of parts of the aircraft.

Of course, his attacks were not as great as Qin Feng’s. All he could do was to perform direct shots at the Deca Turtles’ obvious weak spots.

Again, perhaps it was an attempt to be considerate to Guo Guan, Qin Feng flew the aircraft lower—all the way to sixty meters high. If the Deca Turtles were to turn their bodies, their tummies might actually hit the aircraft.

Still, these giant turtles could not do much to hurt them.

There were about, including Guo Guan, a hundred men on the aircraft. There were around thirty E-tier aptitude users and the rest of them were just janitors, cooks and cleaners.

As such, it seemed unthinkable for them to have all the aptitude users leave the aircraft, leaving it undefended. Not only that, they did not even know what these giant turtles were called. These things were so enormous that each one of them looked like a huge villa. If they were to climb into the turtle shells, it would seem as though they had entered a massive building.

Bai Li raised her hand and focused her Psionic power. In an instant, the beast emperors’ cores, each a meter wide, appeared on the ground!

The cores had rims of golden radiant on them, attracting the eyes of the ones who were looking at them. And there were eleven of them in total.

Bai Li raised her hand again and moved the cores into her spatial rune equipment.

“Quick, harvest the flesh. We need to get them boarded onto the aircraft! What? We don’t have enough containers? Then what are you waiting for? Get the hover copter and buy more of them. The nearest market should be minutes of flight away! Go!!”

Guo Guan excitedly ordered his underlings to work. The others, at the same time, started to clean up the area with tools in their hands.

“These turtle shells can be melted and made into rune equipment. And you can cut them open vertically like this. It’s easier to get their flesh this way!”

The Deca Turtles had a lot of goodies on them. Qin Feng did not want to waste an inch of their corpses. Meanwhile, he also needed to be careful to not expose Bai Li’s spatial dimension. As such, Qin Feng assigned everyone to dissect the Deca Turtles’ shells.

Suddenly, an aptitude user let out an excruciating cry and started to roll around in one of the turtle shells. His body had turned as red as blood!

He raised his hand and used his Psionic power to throw the aptitude user out of the turtle shell.

For a while, the aptitude user kept on rolling on the ground painfully. Then, a surge of energy rose up from his body.

This was an F-tier aptitude user. In the City of Death, people like him tended to only get janitorial jobs. Usually, they were cannon fodders in the slums. With their abilities, they could bully the commoners who had no powers but due to them being weak it was not uncommon to be slaughtered by the stronger users.

Yet, this person’s presence suddenly experienced a huge burst. And in an instant, he turned into E-tier!

Still, despite the increase in tier, this aptitude user seemed to have suffered a great deal. His body had swelled up a lot—it looked as though his whole body had become a filled balloon and he could burst into pieces at any time.

Qin Feng clenched a fist of internal force and released it.

The aptitude user’s head instantly broke from his neck and shot one meter high up into the sky. Blood burst out of the aptitude user’s neck like a mini fountain of blood.

“This is the flesh of D-tier beast emperors. Do you think you could take on these things’ power without proper procedures? Get back to work. Don’t worry, I’ll reward all of you accordingly. But no more funny ideas or else you’ll suffer a fate worse than death!”

Qin Feng’s eyes were flashing with a fierce glow.

That F-tier aptitude user had sneakily taken some blood from a Deca Turtle and drunk it in one gulp!

There were tons and tons of flesh and blood left over by the Deca Turtles. And that aptitude user was from the slums. Some people from the slums tended to be filthy thieves who would take advantage of any situation they were in.

Most of the people in the scene were low tier aptitude users. Thus, when they saw the ultra beasts, they were so afraid that they froze up in fear—some of them could not even stand properly with their shaking feet.

A Swiftwind Wolf crept over after giving a long howl. These wolves were wind type E-tier ultra beasts, formidable assassins in the wild. Naturally, being wolves, they tended to work in packs. This one was most certainly a scout.

Thousands of ultra beasts? So what? They all perished almost in the blink of an eye by Qin Feng’s hand.

Guo Guan and the others watched the battle with their jaws rolling on the ground; they could not believe what they had just witnessed.

Chen Xiang shrugged and answered, “Cui Lian was there but he was murdered!”

Qin Feng knew that after the gaea crystals appeared, Ah Psai, who was closest to the source, immediately mustered up a large collection of them and was afraid of people discovering his hoard. As such, he poisoned a large number of people before he was finally exposed.

After all, the situation where planes were melding together was quite spectacular.

Even then, the chief did not stop and kept killing people until he was listed as a wanted criminal by the Human Alliance.

“Welcome, my distinguished guest. It was thanks to your help that we could handle this rare occurrence of the beast horde. I have prepared a small gift as a sign of gratitude. Hope you will like it.” Ah Psai signaled for his man to hand out the gift to Qin Feng.

It was a wine that was filled in an elegant crystal barrel. Of course, this gift did not come cheap.

The wine was brewed using special spirit fruit found in Psipur City. One bottle of this was priced at a few ten thousand in the outside world. One barrel might be worth at least 10 million, which happened to equal the reward for killing an E-tier plow worm.

“Thanks, Chief.”

Ah Psai laughed heartily. “I wonder why an aptitude user of your caliber is here in Psipur? Perhaps you are also interested in the treasure rumored to be hidden in the heart of the mountain ridge?”

“To be honest, that’s exactly my purpose here.” Qin Feng admitted calmly.

Jin Fei and Guo Song were not told anything and thought that was the true objective of Qin Feng coming to Psipur.

Ah Psai’s laugh became louder and he said, “Haha! Then I hope you get what you come here for!”

Qin Feng raised his cup and drank merrily with Ah Psai.

But on the inside, Qin Feng had long seen through the chief’s true skin and scoffed at his pretentious generosity.

There was only danger lurking in the mountains of Psipur. All the fake news about the hidden treasure was purportedly spread by none other than Ah Psai himself.

For instance, there was a record on the battle net claiming that an F-tier had infiltrated the mountains before. He discovered a bone in the process, which he later found belonged to an A-tier beast emperor and earned a few ten billion.

Another case recorded that a small expedition team went into the mountains and came across rare wild herb there. The team members turned against each other for the herbs and all ended up dead inside the mountain and were never seen again.

Information like this was aplenty from multiple sources but Qin Feng knew they were all just smokescreen.

A diversion created by Ah Psai. He did so because Pispur did not belong to the human alliances. He was afraid that some powerful aptitude user might fancy his colony and rob it from him.

Thus, he diverted these aptitude users’ attention by claiming that there were treasures in the mountains.

If needed, he would even go as far as to poison the visitors to protect his throne.

Simply put, the chief of Psipur was a narrow-minded man. He clung tightly onto the position and did not want to surrender it to anyone.

The communicator technology of course had long reached Psipur City. He just never allowed it to popularize among his people. He had to keep people in Psipur uninformed about the outside world to maintain his authority.

Ah Psai saw Qin Feng’s aircraft and was drooling over it. But then he shook his head regrettably.

“It’s too huge. We have no use for it even if we raid it from him now. Just wait and see what he is up to.”

“Roger!”

After Qin Feng returned to the aircraft, he ordered his members to walk around freely and hunt as they like. He also gave them permission to keep the rewards.

People from the City of Death were mostly penniless. They were especially motivated when allowed to earn extra income.

Even Guo Guan had picked up his gun and walked toward the mountains.

Qin Feng did not touch the gaea crystal in the meantime. He wanted to let it accumulate first then only harvest them altogether.

The next morning, seismic movements once again erupted from all directions. The quake area was even larger this time and it approached Qin Feng’s aircraft fast.

The highway near Psipur had completely collapsed as a result of the shock.

Numerous insectoids emerged from the ground and once again formed a monster wave.

Qin Feng reached the frontline earlier as always.

Qin Feng burned the insectoids rapidly. He wanted to prevent the gaea crystals from being swallowed wastefully by the monsters.

However, it was hard for Qin Feng to spread his consciousness too deep into the solid ground. Hence, he could not really grasp the actual situation underground.

Still, Qin Feng was able to garner more crystals than he did yesterday.

The same thing repeated on the third, fourth, and fifth day…

Qin Feng continued to pile up the crystals and accumulated up to a trillion by the end of the fifth day.

On the sixth day, an unprecedented earthquake broke out and shocked everyone.

It was midafternoon and the shockwaves reached as far as Psipur City. The residents there were deeply terrified and fell into chaos.

Qin Feng stood on top of the aircraft and looked at the far side.

Jin Fei, Guo Guan, and Guo Song were baffled by what they saw on the horizon.

An elevation raised from the plains out of nowhere.

The giant mountain spanned as far as the eyes could see. Dense energy emanated out from the abruptly appearing mountain and chased numerous monsters nearby toward Qin Feng’s direction.

Jin Fei rounded his eyes. “This, this is…” He once again felt overwhelmed and was completely oblivious about the situation around here.

The number of insectoids bursting out from the mountains was atrocious.

“Stay here. Bai Li, let’s go!”

Qin Feng did not have Bai Li by his side in the last few days. After all, the battles before were largely effortless. However, this here was on an entirely different scale now.

The gaea crystals emerged in a large quantity along with the mountain’s appearance.

“Quick! Gather as much crystal as possible,” Qin Feng said to Bai Li.

“Okay!”

It might be difficult for others but this was just a piece of cake for Bai Li.

Qin Feng began to climb the mountain. The peak was still elevating and a lot of rocks were rolling past him.

He suddenly spotted a basketball-sized crystal not very far ahead.

Qin Feng rushed to it the first time.

This was when a bulge appeared on the ground and sent a crystal high up into the air.

A giant plow worm emerged from the bulge and directly swallowed the large crystal into its stomach.

The plow worm transformed instantly after it consumed the giant size crystal. Its initially soft exterior was now covered by a shell. Scales began to extend out from the shell and its head also transformed drastically from having a huge maw into a featureless face.

The monster had evolved on the spot. It became exceptionally daunting as compared to before. From an E-tier, the plow worm had directly evolved into a D-tier beast king.

Qin Feng was exasperated that the monster beat him to it.

He raised his hand and drew the Verdant Emperor Saber from his spatial equipment.

Slash!

A powerful beam was unleashed from the saber and it was scorching like magma.

“Chirp!”

Even though it had reached D-tier, the attack was still too much to bear for the plow worm. The earth-type shell that it had just acquired instantly shattered under the attack.

The monster shrieked painfully and attempted to escape underground.

‘Don’t you dare run away from me!’

Qin Feng maneuvered the fire runes with his consciousness.

“Hell Magma!”

The ground under Qin Feng instantly turned into a pool of magma.

The plow worm cried hysterically with half of its body submerged inside the magma. The scale on its shell was melted away by the blistering magma.

Its body jerked continuously and the plow worm was nearing its end within a few minutes after its glorious evolution.

Qin Feng gave it the final blow with his saber.

The plow worm was cut into half and the struggling upper part froze and dropped into the magma pool as well.

Qin Feng triggered his consciousness and retrieved two crystals out of the pool.

One of them was of course the large gaea crystal, while the other one was the energy core of the beast king.

A thin outer layer had been absorbed from the former but the power was already great enough to turn an E-tier into a D-tier beast king.

Qin Feng kept the two crystals in his storage and looked up again. The mountains had gone even higher. A lot of clods slid down the hill as a result of the upward momentum. More gaea crystals were unearthed as the soil slipped. The insectoids were all over the crystals as soon as they surfaced.

“Chirp!”

An iron beetle engulfed one piece of gaea crystal and transfigured rapidly. Its body turned from black into silver, then gold, and finally became crystal clear.

A D-tier beast emperor. This monster must have eaten something extraordinary.

Qin Feng could not care less about the scattered crystals and charge straight at the D-tier beast emperor.

Qin Feng’s internal force was almost equivalent to B1-tier now. Besides, his Verdant Emperor Saber was a God’s weapon and extremely sharp. This combination was more than enough to finish off the D-tier beast.

“Blazing Sky!”

A glaring fuchsia beam unleashed from the saber and penetrated the crystal beetle with ease.

Before the emperor beast had the chance to showcase its supremacy, it was killed instantly by Qin Feng’s saber. The gaea crystal and its power core were snatched by Qin Feng.

The concentrated group of high-level beasts would petrify any E-tier aptitude user.

Even a D-tier aptitude user would find it hard to move and be suffocated by the immense pressure.

Qin Feng knew that it was only a matter of days before C-tiers would begin to start roaming this mountain. By that time, this place would be declared a forbidden area and only true elects could set foot on this mountain.

This was why Qin Feng did not bring along Jin Fei and the others. They would not survive this horrendous swamp of insectoid for more than half an hour.

Qin Feng was no longer busy looking for gaea crystals. He just started killing all the evolved insectoids because they must have engulfed the crystal, saving him the trouble.

Instantly, a dark cloud appeared above the mountain and covered almost half of the area.

A pair of blue-flamed wings appeared behind Qin Feng. He ascended and hovered in mid-air while scanning the insectoids that kept popping out from the mountain ground.

Even an armadillo had evolved into a ten-meter-long beast. The beast king swerved about recklessly and stampeded numerous smaller insectoids.

As a monster, its size did give the armadillo a lot of advantage. But it also presented itself as an easier target under the corrosive rain.

“Fiery Rampant!”

A straight line of fire appeared on top of the beast king, which had been greatly weakened by Decaying Rain.

“Blooming Flame!”

The crimson flame above it bloomed in multiple directions and one of the flame swords instantly cut off the monster’s giant head.

Its blood spilled all over the place.

Qin Feng had no use of the beast king corpse and burned it into ashes using hellfire. All that was left were its power core and the gaea crystal that had yet to be digested by the armadillo.

He could not stop killing after that. The maddening slaughter went on endlessly.

The earth continued to elevate until it became a high plain. It did not stop expanding and was about to turn into a mountain ridge.

The monsters around the area continuously consumed the enriched crystal and turned into powerful beast kings and emperors. They came out from the underground hurriedly to avoid being buried but unbeknownst to them, a more dangerous foe was waiting for them in the sky.

Qin Feng killed any beast that came into his sight for 24 hours straight. The mountain ridge was still expanding and the place where Qin Feng was at had become the center of the continuous mountains.

The others nodded. The quake could be felt as far as Psipur so Ah Psai had sent his men to check on the situation. Unfortunately, they could not even cross the first wave of insectoids.

They did not understand what was happening. After they went back, they even cautiously constructed a defense line in front of their city in preparation against the monster horde.

To their surprise, the monsters did not go near their city at all but lingered around the newly-elevated mountains.

Not only that but those D1-tier monsters suddenly transformed into D6-tier overnight. They would probably enter C-tier if given another day.

A theory slowly formed in Ah Psai’s bewildered mind.

“Something special must have occurred near the mountain range.”

With this thought in mind, Ah Psai immediately sent a team to hunt down a D-tier beast king. The team fought painstakingly to finally take down one D-tier insectoid. From the corpse, they had successfully retrieved a small piece of gaea crystal.

Ah Psai reflexively warned his team not to leak the news out of Psipur.

Hence, the outside world was not informed about the strange phenomenon that occurred near Psipur on the first day.

However, other dominant tribes near Psipur had of course planted their own informants inside the city so the news eventually broke out after one day.

With more aptitude users gathering, Qin Feng feared that he might become the consensus target again if people were to realize that he had been mining freely in the mountains way ahead of everyone.

Qin Feng and Bai Li returned to the aircraft.

Jin Fei answered hastily, “Ah Psai from Psipur has the mountains surrounded. He said that this is their Holy Mountain and people who dare to invade recklessly would be punished. Our men did not set foot in it and only hover around the perimeter. He can’t stop us from the ground anyway.”

“Okay!” Qin Feng nodded. The name “Psipur Holy Mountain” had indeed been used since the olden days but this did not mean that it belonged to Psipur city.

“More and more aptitude users have gathered around here today but most of them are D-tiers. They only wander around the perimeter like us. These groups are probably scouts and I believe there would be more to come since the news is all over the battle net now.”

“Then let’s wait for another day. I believe they will be here soon,” Qin Feng said. He was expecting the C-tiers. These people would definitely be here when the situation became out of control.

Qin Feng rested for a day and as he had predicted, five C-tiers arrived alongside a new group at the mountain base the next day.

“Ah Psai, it’s inappropriate for you to seal off the mountain this way. We are all free to compete for the natural resources there. I am here with direct orders from my B-tier superior so please don’t make things difficult for us,” One of the C-tiers argued.

Ah Psai was definitely enraged but he concealed it and replied politely with a smile, “These peaks are a part of the Holy Mountains since our ancestral times. Foreign people are forbidden to enter because it’s too dangerous there. I am doing this out of concern for everyone’s safety. If you insist, I will only allow C-tiers to pass to minimize casualty.”

The amount of resources lost would be less if the number of people allowed to enter was restricted. If each C-tier brought along fifty men with them, then twenty C-tiers would mean a thousand men. The mine would be emptied quickly with so many people ravaging the area.

These people were aptitude users, after all.

The C-tiers scanned the area using consciousness and were slightly taken aback by the number of beast kings and emperors in there.

“You are right. After all, we shouldn’t let our underlings take the risk. If so, then only the C-tiers will be going in.” The C-tier agreed to the proposal and asked their D-tiers to camp somewhere nearby.

Ah Psai’s eyes were filled with hatred when the five C-tiers went past his barricade.

To him, these resources were rightfully his and these people were here to steal them. He was thinking of a way to eliminate them.

Ah Psai’s thinking might not be entirely wrong in the current world but the only problem was that he was too weak to do as he wished.

Qin Feng heard their exchange and he approached Ah Psai after the five C-tiers had entered the mountains.

“Hi, Ah Psai!” Qin Feng greeted the chief.

Ah Psai was slightly startled being called out when he still had his infuriated expression on.

He recognized Qin Feng almost immediately. “Mr. Qin! You are here to access the Holy Mountain as well?”

“Yea!” Qin Feng answered.

Ah Psai did not try to conceal his displeasure this time. “Mr. Qin, this is not a place that you come and go freely. Going in as a D-tier is no different from suicide. Please listen to my advice as a friend and don’t go in there.”

It sounded like a warning more than advice.

Qin Feng laughed it off. “I am determined to go no matter what. But then, it would be rude of me if I go in forcefully. So I am willing to compromise and pay you 10 billion as an entrance fee. What do you think, Chief?”

Qin Feng was doing this for a reason.

Indeed, there was a risk for D-tier to enter the Holy Mountains. But when there was such a large group of D-tiers, they could still conquer the mountains easily with C-tiers leading them.

Qin Feng knew that Ah Psai was being wanted by the Human Alliance after he assassinated the C-tier aptitude users. His exile then led to the opening of the mountains to D-tiers.

At a random location inside the mountains, Qin Feng was battling an insectoid beast king.

Hellfire burned brightly and incinerated the insectoid corpse into ashes. The crystal core and gaea crystal were the only things that remained after the burning.

This was when a figure came flying in, stopped short mid-air, and landed right in front of Qin Feng.

The person was wearing a set of dark-red battle suits and carrying a broadsword on his back. Even his hair was dyed red and his eyes were bloodshot. His vibe spelled boastful and cunning.

Qin Feng immediately recognized the man. His name was Yuan Hongfei, a wanted aptitude user from the Dark Coalition. There was a bounty on his head in both the Bounty Hunter and Dark Hitman Network.

“Surrender your possession and I will let you live!” Yuan Hongfei said arrogantly. His eyes belonged to those of a killer.

Actually, Yuan Hongfei was going to kill Qin Feng anyway even if he did as he was told. He loved giving his victim false hope and especially enjoyed the despairing look on them when he ended their lives.

Yuan Hongfei had begun to imagine the way his opponent would yield and back off cautiously.

His pleased expression quickly evaporated when he found out that Qin Feng had ignored his threat entirely and packed the two crystals into his spatial equipment.

“Can’t you hear me? I say put down the two crystals and I may let you live!”

Qin Feng said nothing and pointed his Verdant Emperor Saber at Yuan Hongfei.

Yuan Hongfei was stunned. He did not sit well being threatened.

“Son of a b*tch! Know your place, you lowly D-tier!”

Qin Feng sneered. “On the count of three.”

Yuan Hongfei was infuriated. “You are nothing more than a bragger. Let me teach you a lesson!” He promptly unsheathed the broadsword on his back and swung it down toward Qin Feng.

The broadsword was extremely heavy. Yuan Hongfei used a great deal of internal strength to maneuver it. A force that was capable of cleaving a boulder came crashing down on Qin Feng.

“Evade or die!” Yuan Hongfei was determined to kill the narcissistic brat.

Qin Feng did not evade but only bent his wrist slightly upward.

The move seemed effortless and did not appear to be able to resist the incoming heavy attack.

The two internal forces collided. Yuan Hongfei’s internal force immediately melted away like snow exposed to sun rays. The sharp flame on the Verdant Emperor Saber hit the broadsword and easily sliced through it.

Yuan Hongfei rounded his eyes in surprise. The broadsword was made of C-tier beast king materials. It was a silver light rune equipment and it was impossible to break it that easily.

Unless the opponent was using a C-tier beast emperor weapon.

However, Yuan Hongfei did not notice any gold radiance on the saber.

There was only one explanation left.

“B tier!” In a glance, Qin Feng was able to tell who they were. And not only that, when Qin Feng saw one of them, he recognized that he was an old acquaintance.

“General Xu Qing!”

It was General Xu Qing from Longchuan.

Psipur Holy Mountain was such a blessed place. Qin Feng did not expect to see friendly faces in the area!

Meanwhile, Xu Qing too saw Qin Feng from afar. After a short moment of surprise, he walked slowly toward Qin Feng.

“Contact me?”

However, it made sense too. To Xu Qing, Qin Feng was more of a concerned citizen that he could get news from. Thus, Xu Qing did not give it much thought when he could not contact Qin Feng.

Suddenly, Xu Qing’s communicator started to beep. After checking his communicator, Xu Qing had a huge shock.

“What the hell happened?! Why are you being hunted by the bounty hunters? And you’re now a criminal in the Human Alliance?” Xu Qing asked.

Qin Feng calmly replied, “This is General Guang Wei’s doing.”

A stern look crept up on Xu Qing’s face.

“Just what on Earth happened?!”

Thus, Qin Feng told him everything that Guang Wei had done. Guang Wei’s dirty businesses would be revealed to the world one day anyway. As such, there was no need for Qin Feng to help him maintain his good name. If Guang Wei had the guts to do all these bad deeds, he must also have the courage to face the consequences.

Xu Qing’s face turned grimmer and grimmer as he heard the news.
