Chapter 55

When Chen Yuemei was on the phone, although Wu Qingsheng heard the words "medical practice qualification certificate," he was still a bit dazed and did not clearly understand what Chen Yuemei was talking about. It wasn't until Chen Yuemei picked up the certificate that Wu Qingsheng was greatly moved. The gloom that had been weighing on his heart instantly vanished.

At this moment, Wu Qingsheng took three steps as if they were two, walked to the counter, and took the medical practice qualification certificate from Chen Yuemei. He opened it and confirmed that the name and photo on the certificate were indeed Wu Potian's. Overjoyed, he instructed Chen Yuemei, "Yumei! Call Huzi right away and tell him that Potian is not practicing without a license. He has a medical practice qualification certificate issued by the Beijing Health Bureau. Also, ask him to help us investigate who is targeting our clinic. I want to see what tricks they have up their sleeves."

Chen Yuemei nodded in response to Wu Qingsheng's instructions and said, "Okay! I'll call Huzi right now."

"Right! Yumei! Call Guohui first and tell him not to help Xiaotian register for the medical practice qualification exam. This child didn't even tell us about this matter, making Guohui go through all the trouble of finding connections and asking for favors, only to find out it was all for nothing," Wu Qingsheng reminded Chen Yuemei as she was about to call Wang Hu.

Thinking about Wu Potian being taken away by the public security bureau, Wang Hu felt a burning anger in his heart. After tidying up the files on his desk, he immediately walked out of his office and took out his phone, ready to make a call. Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind him, "Wang Hu! Where are you going? I have something to discuss with you. Come to my office."

Wang Hu was taken aback by the familiar voice. He knew that the criminal investigation team was his former leader's territory, and he had never seen Xu Chunming there since he started working. Now, just as he learned that Wu Potian had been taken away by the public security bureau, Xu Chunming came to him. This couldn't help but surprise him.

Considering all these coincidences, Wang Hu immediately realized that Wu Potian's arrest by the public security bureau was likely Xu Chunming's plot. However, considering Wu Potian's safety and the evidence he had, Wang Hu firmly refused, "Director Xu! I'm sorry, but I have a case that needs immediate attention. Can I come to your office and report back to you after I return?"

Seeing that Wang Hu was not giving him any face, Xu Chunming's face darkened. In the Han Cheng City Police Bureau, few officers dared to defy him, and Wang Hu was one of the few. This was a serious provocation, making Xu Chunming clench his teeth in anger, wishing he could beat Wang Hu up.

However, considering the situation reported by Li Gang the previous day, the usually arrogant Xu Chunming finally suppressed his anger and directly asked Wang Hu, "Wang Hu! Is the case you mentioned the one about your classmate practicing medicine illegally? I just received a report from the public security bureau that a citizen reported an illegal medical practice at a private clinic on Huahua Road in the northern part of the city. After receiving the report, the first squad immediately organized a team to go to the clinic and caught a young man in the act of illegal medical practice. He has been taken back to the bureau. According to the confession of this unlicensed doctor, he is your classmate. Is that correct?"

If Wang Hu had only been guessing before, now, after hearing Xu Chunming's question, he was certain that Xu Chunming was behind Wu Potian's arrest. However, Xu Chunming was the deputy director of the police bureau, and even though they had a conflict with Xu Guozheng the previous day, Xu Chunming wouldn't personally take revenge on them.

This left Wang Hu very puzzled. He replied solemnly, "Deputy Director Xu, you are right. Wu Potian, who was taken away by the public security bureau, is indeed my classmate. He was the top student in our province's college entrance exam and entered the Beijing Medical University with high scores. Now he has returned home to carry on his father's medical practice. However, as far as I know, my classmate was not practicing medicine illegally; someone is framing him."

Xu Chunming's face showed a meaningful smile as he said sarcastically, "Being the top student in the college entrance exam is true, but according to my information, your classmate was expelled from medical school shortly after enrolling. Later, he worked as a temporary employee at the Beijing People's Hospital. This morning, the public security bureau received a report and went to the clinic, where they caught him treating a patient. He was caught red-handed."

"Wang Hu! As the deputy captain of the criminal investigation team, you should know that those who practice medicine illegally can be sentenced to up to three years in prison, detention, or probation, and may also be fined. If they cause serious harm to a patient, they can be sentenced to three to ten years in prison and fined. If they cause a patient's death, they can be sentenced to more than ten years in prison and fined. According to my information, the patient your classmate was treating fell ill in the police car before even reaching the public security bureau and has been sent to the hospital for emergency treatment."

Hearing Xu Chunming's words, Wang Hu felt an unbearable anger surge to his head, making him clench his fists, wishing he could confront Xu Chunming and show him his strength.

Considering that Xu Chunming had gone to great lengths to frame Wu Potian, he must have had some hidden motive. Without knowing Xu Chunming's true intentions, Wang Hu couldn't afford to confront him directly. He suppressed his anger and asked in a hostile tone, "Deputy Director Xu! You came to the criminal investigation team specifically to tell me this news?"

Seeing that Wang Hu completely disregarded his authority, Xu Chunming's eyes flashed with uncontrollable anger, and his face turned red with veins popping out. He stared at Wang Hu like a cat ready to pounce on a mouse and said coldly, "Wang Hu! I heard that you and your classmate had a minor conflict with my son last night. Is that true?"
