Chapter 9

Receiving the message from Qinglong undoubtedly made Wu Potian feel depressed as he cursed, "Damn rules, isn't this just teasing me? I'm such a healthy young man, and I can't even use the most basic medical equipment, making me feel like I've been given false hope."

"Master! It's not that I want to discourage you, but although your body looks very healthy, in the future federation, your physical condition is not much different from that of a disabled person. Therefore, if you want to use these devices, you need to become stronger as soon as possible and gain sufficient gratitude points."

Despite Wu Potian knowing the method to use the equipment beforehand, he never expected that with his current body, he couldn't even use the most basic equipment. This made him feel very depressed. However, he didn't feel discouraged by the current situation and asked Qinglong, "Qinglong! Among these prizes, which one do you think is the most suitable for me?"

"Master! I think the set of silver needles made from mithril and meteorite alloy is the most suitable for you. With your current medical skills, you can definitely use this set of silver needles. As for the medical skill rewards, I suggest you store them for now, which will be beneficial for you to complete the system's tasks in the future."

"What! Prizes can also be stored!" Wu Potian was undoubtedly very surprised when he heard Qinglong's words. However, he believed that Qinglong's advice was absolutely the most suitable for him at the moment, so he made his choice according to Qinglong's suggestion.

Looking at the eighteen long silver needles in the box, Wu Potian felt that he was one step closer to his dream.

"Master! Now that you have chosen your prize, please start today's study plan! Based on your current physical condition, the system has provided the most suitable study plan. In the future, every time you enter the system, you will first study the Body Strengthening Technique for fifteen hours, followed by clinical medical knowledge. Please get ready now."

As Qinglong's voice faded, the surroundings changed. Wu Potian felt as if he had entered a magical world, standing on a small island floating in mid-air. The island was covered with peach blossoms, and a gentle breeze carried the fragrance of the peach blossoms. If Wu Potian didn't know that this was just an illusion in the study space, he would have thought he had arrived at the Peach Blossom Island in Jin Yong's novels.

"Master! Hello! I am your Body Strengthening Technique instructor, Xiong Biatian! Starting today, I will guide you in practicing the Body Strengthening Technique used by the federation's special forces. Please watch me perform it once, and then follow my movements to start practicing." Just as Wu Potian was immersed in the floral fragrance, a clear and refined old man appeared before him.

Hearing Xiong Biatian's words, Wu Potian quickly snapped out of his reverie and focused his gaze on Xiong Biatian, watching him begin to demonstrate the Body Strengthening Technique.

Wu Potian was very clear that whether he could achieve his wishes and use those devices depended on practicing the Body Strengthening Technique. Therefore, when Xiong Biatian started demonstrating, he watched every move very attentively, afraid of missing any action that might affect his practice.

After a short two minutes, Xiong Biatian finished demonstrating the Body Strengthening Technique and turned to Wu Potian with a serious expression, saying, "Master! The Body Strengthening Technique has nine levels. The one I just demonstrated is the first level. Did you see it clearly?"

Since the first level of the Body Strengthening Technique only had a few moves, and Wu Potian had been very focused, he had already memorized the few moves Xiong Biatian demonstrated. When he heard Xiong Biatian's words, he nodded and replied, "I saw it clearly. I think I can follow your demonstration now."

Hearing Wu Potian's words, Xiong Biatian nodded and said, "Good! Since you have memorized the moves, let's start practicing now."

Watching Xiong Biatian begin to demonstrate the Body Strengthening Technique, Wu Potian followed behind him, performing the moves he had memorized. Just when he thought everything was going smoothly, when he followed Xiong Biatian to the third move, he lost his balance and fell to the ground.

Seeing Wu Potian fall, Xiong Biatian was not surprised. He stopped practicing and turned to Wu Potian, explaining, "Master! Although the Body Strengthening Technique looks simple, practicing it is far more difficult than it appears. The purpose of practicing the Body Strengthening Technique is to make your body more coordinated and to achieve mind-body unity. Even though the few moves look simple, they are very difficult to perform in sequence, which is why the Body Strengthening Technique is a fundamental practice for the federation's special forces."

When Wu Potian saw Xiong Biatian demonstrate the Body Strengthening Technique, he had indeed underestimated it, thinking that such simple moves could be easily performed by anyone. However, after he started practicing, he realized he had been overconfident. A technique that could be chosen by the military after several hundred years couldn't be so ordinary.

After hearing Xiong Biatian's explanation, Wu Potian became more serious. However, he did not immediately start practicing the Body Strengthening Technique but instead asked Xiong Biatian about the precautions to take when learning the Body Strengthening Technique.

Just as Wu Potian was following Xiong Biatian to practice the Body Strengthening Technique, a knock on the door outside his room pulled him back to reality.

Hearing the knock, Wu Potian felt very depressed and had to leave the study space, asking irritably, "Who is it?"

"Xiao Wu! It's Director Zhou. Why did you leave your post halfway through your shift? Is your cold not better yet?" As soon as Wu Potian's voice faded, a very familiar voice came from outside the door.

Hearing Zhou Bapi's unusually gentle tone, Wu Potian was clearly taken aback. In his mind, Zhou Bapi had never spoken to him like this before. As the saying goes, "Flattery is either a trap or a deceit." At this moment, Wu Potian immediately became extremely alert and replied expressionlessly, "Director Zhou! I think you must be mistaken. Two hours ago, I was fired by the hospital."

Hearing Wu Potian's words, Zhou Bapi's face, covered with fat, twitched slightly, and a look of anger flashed across his face. He then forced a smile and said to Wu Potian, "Xiao Wu! Who said you were fired? Liu Guangxi was relieved of his duties as director more than an hour ago and was taken away by the city's disciplinary inspection team. His order to fire you is invalid. Now, Director Chen is in charge of the hospital, and he has asked me to notify you to return to the hospital immediately."

Hearing Zhou Bapi's words, Wu Potian thought about how Zhou Bapi had been submissive and fawning to Liu Guangxi in the past, even calling him "Dad." Now that Liu Guangxi had been taken away by the city's health bureau, Zhou Bapi was immediately calling him by name, which made Wu Potian extremely disdainful of Zhou Bapi.

Looking at Zhou Bapi's forced smile, Wu Potian was even more convinced of his suspicions. In the past, he would have cherished this hard-earned job, but after obtaining Qinglong, the job at the hospital had lost its appeal. What he most wanted to do now was to fully digest the medical skills he had learned, then take the medical practice qualification exam, and become a real doctor.

"Director Zhou! Thank you for coming to inform me of this news. However, after today's events, I have realized that I am indeed not suitable for this job at the hospital. Therefore, I will not return to work there in the future."

Hearing Wu Potian's words, Zhou Bapi's face changed. This time, Director Chen had given him a strict order to bring Wu Potian back to the hospital. If he failed, his position as the head of the logistics department would be at risk.

Thinking about this, he forced a smile and said to Wu Potian, "Xiao Wu! I know you were wronged today, and Director Chen also knows that you are a great contributor to our hospital. The hospital's party committee will not let our contributors be wronged. Before I came, Director Chen asked me to tell you that, to encourage your efforts, the hospital has decided to change your temporary position to a contract position."
