Eerie.

Terrifying.

For a moment, Yang Yi felt as if he had returned to his recurring nightmare, a cycle of repeatedly killing himself, unable to escape.

Like a bound prisoner, he could only watch helplessly as the torture instruments fell upon him, powerless to do anything.

However, in the dream, he had forgotten himself and his past, but now, his consciousness was crystal clear.

Enough!

"Breaking this cycle is the only way to save myself!"

Negative emotions such as tension and fear were once again blocked out, and Yang Yi became more clear-headed than ever before.

If things progressed normally, the other version of himself would walk over, and he would retreat out of fear and tension.

If he did that, the other version would enter this place, just like him, trapped in an eternal cycle, unable to escape.

Therefore, to break the current situation, there was only one method: to face the challenge head-on and disrupt the established rhythm of events.

As he pondered, the other version of himself, just as in his memory, took large steps toward him.

Every movement and gesture was exactly the same, but the roles had switched; the person inside the mirror had come out, and the person outside had gone in!

Struggling to resist the urge to retreat, Yang Yi stood his ground, staring intently at the version of himself approaching.

The other version seemed surprised by his composure, showing a hint of panic, but ultimately extended his hand.

"Let's see if you really will..."

Yang Yi also extended his hand.

Since he could enter, according to the time loop, he would definitely be able to touch the other's hand. If not, he would just kill him again!

Perhaps, only after killing, would the cycle truly end.

Whoosh!

Their hands extended simultaneously, touching in an instant. Yang Yi immediately felt a warm sensation from the other's palm, as if it had a life of its own.

Just as he was about to pull the other in to kill him, he saw their figures, like acid and base neutralizing each other, begin to evaporate like mist, merging rapidly around their arms.

Immediately, his vision began to blur, and his body lost control, unable to break free.

Thud!

The sound of landing echoed, and his vision cleared. He quickly stood up, frantically checking his body, which was unharmed. The other version, whether dead or absorbed, had vanished.

Sighing in relief, he realized he was no longer in the room but in a special space, neither inside the mirror nor in reality, and he didn't know if it was even on Earth.

In front of him was a grand building, opulent and magnificent, with mirrors arranged in a special pattern on all sides, giving a sense of transcending time and space.

Counting them, there were exactly 1080.

Walking forward, a huge plaque came into view.

Five large characters, beautifully written in silver hooks and iron strokes, flowing like dragons and phoenixes—Mirror Management Bureau!

Each character carried a special aura, elegant and beautiful, providing a visual feast, far surpassing the works of the greatest calligraphers.

"Management?" Yang Yi frowned.

The mirrors in the sky were too large, and scientists worldwide couldn't understand them. How could they be managed?

Turning his head, he saw a couplet on either side of the door.

Top line: Do not be too obsessed with right and wrong.

Bottom line: In the end, you are still a reflection in the mirror.

Neither neatly balanced nor rhyming.

After looking for a while... well, he didn't understand the meaning.

Yang Yi's Chinese scores were average.

Forget it.

Turning around, he saw his living space clearly, with shoes and a sofa still in place... but his reflection was gone, and the time was 2:01, still moving forward.

It seemed the time loop had indeed been broken.

Looking forward again, the building behind him seemed to be his room, placing him in a gap between the mirror and reality.

In this gap, a massive "Mirror Management Bureau" stood.

Not knowing why he was here or what it represented, since he had come, he decided to take a look.

He walked toward the building, stretched out his hands, and with all his strength, pushed the door open with a creak.

Inside, two large screens greeted him. On the left was inscribed, "Prosperity, democracy, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality."

On the right: "Justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication, integrity, friendliness."

Pure positive energy.

In the middle was a long table, similar to a conference room, with one seat in the center and four on each side.

The layout and appearance were about 70-80% similar to a police station's conference room on Earth.

After a quick look around, finding nothing, he continued forward.

Not far from the corridor was a small room labeled "Probationary Officer's Room." Pushing the door open, he entered a room of about ten square meters, quite narrow, with a small desk and chair in the middle and a police uniform hanging on a rack in the corner.

Against the wall was a mirror, but it showed no reflection, only the room's contents.

It seemed he was neither in reality nor in the mirror; the mirror had lost its original function.

Walking toward the police uniform, he noticed a name tag on the chest, reading "Probationary Officer."

After observing for a while, he became increasingly confused and couldn't resist touching it.

His fingertip stung as if pricked by something, and a drop of blood fell on it. In the next moment, a flash of light, and the police uniform disappeared from his view, appearing on his body, slowly merging into his skin and hiding under his clothes.

As if sensing something, the mirror hummed, and a series of red characters appeared, like bloodstains:

Welcome to the Mirror Management Bureau, the first probationary officer!

Name: Yang Yi.

Age: 18.

Identity: Probationary Officer.

Equipment: One set of low-level police uniform. (Note: Allows free entry and exit from the bureau, no defensive or strength enhancements.)

Special Abilities: None.

Yang Yi was stunned.

What the hell?

What is a probationary officer?

And what does "first" mean?

Could it be that he was the first to enter this so-called "Mirror Management Bureau"?

If so, what were the entry conditions?

1080 nightmares without dying?

Or truly touching his mirror image?

Just as he was full of questions and at a loss, the mirror in front of him began to flash rapidly. Then, a familiar figure slowly appeared.

His classmate, Zhang Zhen.

At that moment, he was gripping the mirror frame with both hands, his eyes cold, his large forehead constantly probing outward, as if ready to crawl out at any moment.
