Chapter 10: The Strange Mother and Daughter

Drenched by water, Ye Feng suddenly opened his eyes, greeted by the glaring sunlight. Judging from the brightness, it was probably around eight in the morning.

His eyes felt a bit sore, and Ye Feng instinctively rubbed them. As he rubbed, he felt something odd and, looking at his hand, saw it was covered in water.

Ye Feng's mind was a blur, and he furrowed his brow in confusion. He looked up at the bright sun in the sky and let out a light sigh.

No matter what, the sun was still the same, though it felt a bit strange. Yet, he suddenly felt a strange sense of familiarity, as if reuniting with a friend after decades apart.

Sitting up, his head throbbed, and Ye Feng groaned. At this moment, memories surged in his mind along with the pain. The conversation with Tai Su in the white light flashed clearly in his mind. Recalling what had happened in the white light, Ye Feng couldn't help but tremble with excitement.

But thinking about being suddenly doused with cold water at the most critical moment, his face darkened.

Just as he was about to curse, "Which—"

However, he looked up and saw a delicate little face, with two pigtails swinging from side to side. Ye Feng immediately retracted his curse, changing it to, "Ah, ha ha, which money-hungry person is looking for me? Ha ha, ha—" He gave a nervous laugh, seeing the girl's puzzled expression and stopped talking.

The little girl was taken aback, then burst into laughter, her pigtails swinging even more.

Ye Feng was slightly dazed. He could swear he had never seen such a delicate, porcelain-like girl. This little girl looked like a beautiful figurine from some island country. Although she appeared to be only thirteen or fourteen, one could imagine that she would grow up to be a bewitching beauty.

"Big brother, you're awake!" Her voice was like a silver bell, which cleared Ye Feng's dazed mind.

The little girl smiled slightly, as if she had expected it.

In front of him stood a girl holding a basin that had clearly contained water. Ye Feng subconsciously touched his head, which was still wet. Recalling the chill he had felt in the white light, he immediately understood what had happened. He was a bit angry, but then thought that perhaps they had good intentions, and his anger subsided.

The little girl, despite her young age, was well-developed, with a well-proportioned figure and two slight protrusions on her chest. When she smiled, two charming dimples appeared. Standing beside her was a middle-aged woman, elegant and graceful, in her thirties, with a good figure that exuded mature feminine charm.

This woman seemed to be no ordinary person. Besides her beauty, her demeanor was the best Ye Feng had ever seen.

The woman's skin was very fair, without any makeup, and her smile was as charming as the little girl's, making people feel close and warm. It seemed almost a sin not to be kind to them. She smiled at Ye Feng, and her smile seemed to carry a special meaning.

Ye Feng thought for a moment and guessed that she must be the little girl's mother.

Whoever could marry such a woman would have no regrets!

"Indeed, not bad. How about it, are you interested? Give it a try?" Tai Su's voice suddenly appeared, sounding strange. Ye Feng's expression froze, realizing that Tai Su, being inside his body, could hear his thoughts.

Why does this guy meddle in everything! Ye Feng inwardly despised him.

"Um, little sister, may I ask who you are?" Ye Feng gave what he thought was an innocent smile to avoid being mistaken for a weird uncle with strange preferences.

"My name is Liu Feiyan. Big brother, I'm glad to meet you." The little girl said, extending her white, tender hand for a polite handshake.

Ye Feng looked flattered, as no girl had ever taken the initiative to shake his hand before. He hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn't extend his hand, noticing that Liu Feiyan's mother had slightly frowned when she extended her hand, though she quickly returned to normal.

Liu Feiyan's big eyes stared at Ye Feng, and she smiled angrily, "Big brother, do you dislike me? I at least helped you, and you won't even shake my hand?"

At this point, Ye Feng felt that if he didn't act appropriately, the mother and daughter would immediately turn into fierce dragons and trample him underfoot. He extended his hand and gently shook hers, feeling her softness and a faint, maidenly fragrance. He thought to himself, if only this moment could last forever.

Of course, Ye Feng only dared to think this. He slowly released her hand, somewhat reluctantly.

"How about it, how does it feel? Not bad, right? Hehe!" Tai Su's annoying voice chimed in, laughing mischievously.

Ye Feng felt like dying. Tai Su's character was really—too much.

"By the way, big brother, I'm curious, why were you lying on the road?" Liu Feiyan asked with a crisp laugh.

"On the road?" Ye Feng looked around and realized he was standing under the wicked streetlight that had caused him to lose control yesterday, and had somehow brought him Tai Su as a strange friend. For this, he decided to forgive the streetlight.

Realizing he had spent the night on the road, he felt a wave of melancholy. He also thought that it was fortunate he had told his parents he was staying at a classmate's house to avoid worrying them.

At this moment, cars still occasionally passed by, and a red BMW, extremely stylish with its streamlined design, shiny body, and convertible top, was parked next to the streetlight, showcasing its uniqueness, elegance, and high cost.

With Ye Feng's nearly illiterate knowledge of cars, he only knew it must be very expensive, perhaps something he could never afford in his lifetime. The red BMW was likely the mother and daughter's.

However, Ye Feng wondered if he should feel sad or lucky that only this mother and daughter had come to his aid after he had spent the night on the road.

"I don't know how I ended up sleeping on the road. Maybe I was just too tired last night." Ye Feng felt embarrassed by this lame excuse but couldn't think of a better one, so he just went with it.

Sure enough, the mother and daughter looked at him with suspicious faces, clearly thinking, "Who are you trying to fool? Do you think we're idiots?!" Their expressions showed their extreme disdain for his lame excuse.

"Ha ha, I really don't know what happened." Ye Feng explained awkwardly.

But they seemed to find his awkward performance entertaining and remained silent.

At this moment, Ye Feng caught a glimpse of two men walking over from a distance. Judging by their attire, they were workers from a nearby construction site, coming to work early in the morning. They were heading their way, looking like thugs. Ye Feng instinctively shrank back, thinking, "I hope they don't cause any trouble!"
