Chapter 8

10 min read2,448 words

When Zhang Huen "woke" up, he found that the movie had already entered the second act. He was shirtless, wearing a thick dog-head gold necklace around his neck, and holding a shiny machete, glaring menacingly at the protagonist, Chu Ge, who was surrounded by people at the main gate.

(Indeed, this heaven-defying ability is still here. Thank the Virgin Mary, thank the Buddha, thank Allah.)

"What's the matter, did you forget about your old man just because you hooked up with a pretty boy?"

Fan Qiang, playing the role of Extra 1, had a few gangster-like qualities. He was tapping a steel ball bat on the ground intermittently, squinting at Chu Ge and Jiang Xiaoying, and spouting non-stop:

"Xiaoying, you were pretty wild when you were under me, I never saw you act so demure. Forget it, act all innocent, as long as you come over and lick my balls, I'll let your pretty boy off!"

(What a brain-dead script.)

Zhang Huen cursed in his mind. The lines of the gangster boss in this low-level amateur movie were no longer refreshing, just a few lines that reeked of the outskirts of the city and countryside, full of bravado and violence.

Bored, he casually checked his attributes.

"Extra 2 - Played by: Zhang Huen

(Why do I have two new items? Performance Level and Skills, what are they for?)

Mei Zizhong, who had been silent and acting profound, suddenly chuckled and walked up to Fan Qiang with a dignified step. He pulled out a Dragon Card from his Armani suit and threw it on the ground, saying:

"This card has 1 million yuan. I happen to need a few henchmen, so why don't you follow me? You'll get girls, houses, and cars; it's better than floating around in society and risking being hit by both the police and the underworld, right?"

Zhang Huen, awakened by Mei Zizhong, looked at Fan Qiang and found his subconscious to be - Honest and Simple (Basic).

(What the hell, an honest and simple man coming to make money from the mafia, isn't this a joke?)

Sure enough, tempted by the money, the honest and simple farmer Fan Qiang started to tremble and picked up the Dragon Card from the ground, asking in disbelief:

"1... 1 million, really 1 million?"

"Ha, I'm Chu Ge, 1 million is just pocket money to me. Don't worry, follow me and you'll eat well and drink well, and you'll get 1 million every month."

"Clang!"

Fan Qiang, like a scholar who had just passed the imperial exams, dropped his ball bat to the ground. His whole body, including the tattoo on the back of his neck, trembled with servility. He barked at Zhang Huen and the other extra:

"Awesome, we're rich! We don't have to worry about the house back home anymore, and we don't have to struggle for our future lives. We'll follow Boss Chu from now on, come, call him Boss!"

"Boss! You'll be my boss for life!"

Extra 3, seeing Fan Qiang surrender, threw down the crowbar he was holding and ran over to Mei Zizhong, bowing and flattering him without restraint. The two extras were like lapdogs to Chu Ge, almost kneeling to lick his shoes.

Zhang Huen walked over to Mei Zizhong, pushing aside the thought of "Boss, you are the coolest and most handsome man in the world, no one else can match you." He smiled and walked to Fan Qiang's side, then turned and stabbed him in the stomach. Fan Qiang, who was busy praising, didn't even have a reflex reaction, and fell to the ground with a look of shock, confusion, and unwillingness. The still warm Dragon Card fell into the blood.

"Spit!"

Zhang Huen spat at Fan Qiang's still trembling body. Now it was his performance time. If someone killed without any reason, they would be judged as a lunatic by the real movie, and lunatics couldn't join the big family of the film and television industry. But if there was an explanation, even a ridiculous one, his actions would only be seen as the result of a vicious and cruel subconscious.

Zhang Huen walked over to Mei Zizhong with a grin, knowing that a mindless, violent killer couldn't make it in the film and television industry. He wanted to be an elegant killer, like the killers in Quentin Tarantino's movies who combined beauty, violence, and intellect.

"Mr. Chu, what do you think money can buy? Your life, or hers?"

Mei Zizhong was speechless from the sudden attack. Extra 3, who had been fawning at his side, let out a scream like a girl encountering a pervert:

"Murder, murder!"

Extra 3 ran out of the villa toward the end of the road. Zhang Huen didn't care about him because he wasn't a target, so why waste energy chasing a worthless target?

Zhang Huen walked toward Mei Zizhong with a dripping machete. Mei Zizhong's face twitched, and he grabbed Jiang Xiaoying, pushing her toward Zhang Huen:

"Brother, take this woman, and consider the 1 million yuan as the fee for using her these past few days. Hurry up and leave, I've already called the police, you won't be able to escape when they come."

(As if I believe you. A small-budget amateur movie with no main characters, where are the police going to come from?)

"Sure, but I don't like used goods."

Jiang Xiaoying, who had been forcing a seductive smile, flashed a look of hatred when she heard Zhang Huen's words. But before she could react, Zhang Huen split her head with a machete, and her still beautiful face was cut in half, falling to the ground with a strange smile.

"Murder, murder again!"

Like Extra 3, Mei Zizhong and his women screamed and ran out of the villa. Zhang Huen slashed two of the last black-haired men with two quick strokes, kicked the old gatekeeper who tried to protect his master, and broke his neck with a kick to the chin.

Zhang Huen chased Mei Zizhong and his women into the villa. With the machete in hand, he felt invincible. He killed the black-haired men one by one, some screaming, some begging for mercy, some hiding under the covers and chanting, and some trying to seduce him with their bodies, but they all became his victims under his calm and cruel machete.

Three fell in the living room, one in the kitchen, one in the bathtub in the bathroom, and one hanging from the stairs. Mei Zizhong, with the remaining three black-haired men, two maids, and three male servants, hid in the master bedroom, pushing the bed to the door to block it.

"Boss Chu, you have money, can money buy your life?"

Zhang Huen's voice came from outside the door, scaring two of the black-haired men so much that they jumped off the balcony. The sound of "thud, ah, ouch" echoed, and Mei Zizhong looked at the solid wooden door, as if the demon outside was about to break in at any moment.

"Don't come in, I've already called the police, you won't be able to escape when they come. I advise you to leave now, and I'll pretend nothing happened!"

Mei Zizhong shouted at the top of his lungs, trying to boost his own morale. He couldn't get through to 110, and 120 and 119 were busy. For a moment, he felt like he had a strange case of amnesia. Where were his relatives and friends? Why were there no contact numbers on his custom-made phone?

"Can you make calls?"

The maids and the remaining black-haired men shook their heads, which made Mei Zizhong furious. He pulled his hair and shouted at the remaining three men and three women:

"This must be an illusion, an illusion, yes, a dream, I'm dreaming, you're not real, not real!"

He then rushed forward and slammed a male servant's head against the wall, the sound of which terrified the others. Young Master Chu was going crazy, and the next one would be them.

"Master, Master, calm down, calm down!"

The other two male servants stepped forward to stop the crazed Mei Zizhong. They managed to pull him away with brute force, and the male servant with a bump on his head fell to the ground, still dazed. Mei Zizhong, still angry, kicked the fallen male servant twice and shouted:

"I want to live, live, you, go out and fight, and I'll give each of you 1 million yuan."

The two male servants looked at each other, then lowered their heads and stepped aside. What a joke, money is valuable, but life is more precious. Seeing their hesitation, Chu Baiwan picked up a pair of scissors from the dressing table and, with a fierce look, said to the two:

"Go out and fight, or I'll cut a few holes in you."

"Master, calm down!"

"Master, don't, Master."

"Hey, Young Master Chu!"

A loud call from the balcony brought Mei Zizhong back from the brink of madness. He rushed to the balcony and looked down, seeing a man standing on the lawn in front of the villa. He was holding a machete and smiling at him with a mouthful of white teeth. At his feet lay two women's bodies, one of which was still writhing, but the man's shoe was on her back, preventing her from moving.

Mei Zizhong, not knowing where his courage came from, pointed at the man in his courtyard and said:

"Kid, you're dead, you'll be executed, executed, do you know, a small hole in your head, your face will be blown apart!"

Seeing Mei Zizhong waving his arms on the balcony, Zhang Huen took out a Zippo lighter he found in their house, lit a cigarette, and threw the burning lighter into the living room of the villa. A thunderous explosion came from the kitchen, and the glass windows and doors of the first and second floors shattered like confetti, scattering on the lawn. Flames shot out from the first floor, reaching three meters high, and then spread to the second floor.

The explosion and the shock made Mei Zizhong, who was shouting on the balcony, scream and fall. But he was lucky, he didn't land on his head, and his fat bottom saved his life.

(That's great, it saves a lot of trouble.)

Zhang Huen walked over and dragged Mei Zizhong, who was crying and shouting, to the side of the woman with a broken leg. The woman struggled to get up but was kicked back down by Zhang Huen.

"Help, help!"

The men and women on the balcony were surrounded by the rapidly spreading fire. The fire on the first floor quickly spread to the second floor, and the raging flames roasted the balcony of the master bedroom. They were like meat on a BBQ, forced by the smoke and heat to decide whether to jump or not.

"Spare me, everything is yours."

Mei Zizhong's right hand was abnormally bent, having been broken when he landed. Now he was only begging, with no thought of resistance. The man with a beard and a sinister look seemed to regard money as dirt, smiled, and threw him to the side of the woman.

Zhang Huen looked back at the balcony, which was already blackened by smoke. The three men had jumped down, and they were lucky, not like the previous black-haired men who were injured. They rubbed their legs and ran in the opposite direction. The three women were still screaming, unable to jump down.

Let them run, anyway, the task didn't include these three male servants. Zhang Huen let the three male servants go and smiled at Chu Ge and the black-haired man:

"Want to live?"

Mei Zizhong and the woman nodded, their eyes filled with hope.

"But only one of you can live, what should we do?"

Seeing the troubled look on the man's face, Mei Zizhong and the woman moved back half a meter, the atmosphere of distrust between them growing rapidly. But they trusted Zhang Huen even less. You say one can live, but what if you change your mind?

"Hurry up, my patience is limited. I rarely show mercy, don't just stand there."

A loud "whoosh" came from the villa, and the small two-story building, unable to withstand the fire, collapsed in a cloud of dust. A burning figure crawled out of the ruins, stood up, took a few steps, and then fell again, struggling to crawl forward.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, truly pitiful."

The burning woman crawled a few meters without dying, her screams making Mei Zizhong and the woman shiver and feel as if they had fallen into an abyss.

"Can't you let me live?"

Mei Zizhong looked at Zhang Huen in despair. Zhang Huen's smile was so calm that it was terrifying. He looked back at the woman he had been intimate with, and the fire of survival in her eyes burned his heart.

"Damn bitch, it's all your fault!"

Mei Zizhong got up and kicked the woman in the stomach. She groaned but didn't resist, just staring at him with hate.

"Look, look at me!"

Mei Zizhong, angry and ashamed, kicked the woman again and again. She rolled on the ground in pain, and Mei Zizhong followed, ready to continue. Suddenly, he felt a cold sensation in his groin, and a piercing pain shot up to his head. Mei Zizhong fell to the ground before he could even cry out. The woman, who had suddenly regained her strength, pounced on him. When he looked at her hand, he saw a sharp, blood-soaked rock stabbing into his eyes, nose, and forehead.

The woman's body and face were covered in blood and brain matter. When Mei Zizhong's body stopped convulsing, she stopped, her trembling body showing her fear and helplessness. Zhang Huen's shadow fell on her back, shielding her from the midday sun.

She looked up at the man standing behind her, blocking the sun, and the reflection of the shiny machete made her squint. Suddenly, she smiled and said:

"I can't escape death, can I?"

"Sorry, don't sell your body in the next life."

The woman's head, with a smile that was indifferent to life and death, fell to the grass next to Mei Zizhong's smashed face.

The warm light spread across the sky again, and the golden "The End" sign appeared above the villa.
