It was rare for Ji Qinghuai to get up so early but it was also rare for him to be in such a good mood. He strode to the window and pulled it open, causing sunlight to illuminate the room.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t that good today. Overcast clouds hung above the sky and it was wet everywhere because of the rain last night. It was his least favourite weather.
Fortunately, he didn’t have any work arranged recently so no matter how stormy the weather was, it wouldn’t affect him. He could just stay at home and chat about love.
Ji Qinghuai thought so and was in a good mood when washing up. After that, he ran into the kitchen to find Xie Yan.
When it came to cooking, he could only be a bystander. It wasn’t that he couldn’t learn, but that he didn’t plan to.
When they were at home, Qin Xiaorou would cook most of the time and Ji Xianzhi would sometimes take over. Meanwhile, Ji Qinghuai and Qin Lang were responsible for cleaning up. Later, when they bought their own house for convenience, Ji Qinghuai didn’t want to live alone, so he brought all his luggage to Qin Lang’s house and stayed with his brother.
After that, the task of cooking naturally fell onto Qin Lang. From beginning to end, Ji Qinghuai was just a lazy foodie.
At this moment, Xie Yan was making fried eggs. Although the process was simple, his movements were very skilful and not long after, there were two fried eggs ready.
Ji Qinghuai watched from the side and suddenly felt that his luck was very good.
No matter what outsiders thought of Xie Yan, in Ji Qinghuai’s eyes, he was almost perfect.
Others felt that Xie Yan was cruel and merciless, but Ji Qinghuai had never been afraid of him because, in his heart, he knew that Xie Yan had given him all his patience and tolerance.
It was precisely because of Xie Yan’s indulgence that gave Ji Qinghuai the courage to provoke him.
Previously, Ji Qinghuai felt that he was particularly unlucky this year. Now that he brooded about it, maybe his life had sailed too smoothly and he also gained such an excellent lover that heaven felt it was too unfair.
While thinking nonsense, Ji Qinghuai reached out to take the plate with a fried egg that was handed over to him. Xie Yan then placed some steamed buns on the plate, poured some hot soy milk, and a simple breakfast was prepared this way.
Ji Qinghuai drank half a cup of soy milk to warm up his body and then passed a bun to Xie Yan. “Yanyan, this is what Qin Lang made himself. I think it tastes good, try it.”
Hearing the name “Yanyan” at first, Xie Yan didn’t react immediately and was stunned.
Ji Qinghuai explained to him, “I think that calling you Mr Xie is a little bit distant, so I changed it to a closer one.”
Xie Yan didn’t really care about what Ji Qinghuai called him and replied, “Up to you.”
They were three simple words but they made Ji Qinghuai’s mood soar. “Then Yan Yan, what will you call me from now on?”
Ji Qinghuai looked at Xie Yan expectantly, “You don’t have to call me by my full name, how about you change it?”
It was honestly a bit difficult for Xie Yan.
Before meeting Ji Qinghuai, he never thought that he would find a partner with such a personality. It wasn’t that Ji Qinghuai was bad, but that Ji Qinghuai’s personality was very lively and he couldn’t keep up with him sometimes.
Like now, Ji Qinghuai felt that Xie Yan’s form of address for him was too formal and pestered him to change it. Xie Yan had never encountered such a situation before. He hadn’t had time to adapt to the close relationship between lovers but Ji Qinghuai had given him such a difficult task early in the morning.
After thinking about it, Qin Xiaorou seemed to call Ji Qinghuai…
“Qing…Qing?”
He tried to call out but he ended up getting goosebumps first.
Ji Qinghuai looked at Xie Yan’s tangled look of disgust and couldn’t bear to reject him. He couldn’t help but want to tease him.
“You want to kiss me? Then I'll kiss you.” Saying that, he leaned forward very consciously.
Qin Lang, who had just walked into the living room after washing up: “…”
When Qin Lang returned last night, he saw that the relationship between Ji Qinghuai and Xie Yan had changed. Ji Qinghuai had clearly stated that Xie Yan was very angry and ignoring him, but last night when the two were together, the atmosphere was very harmonious and a bit…ambiguous
Qin Lang knew that Ji Qinghuai had successfully left the order.
This was a good thing. But he never expected he’d be so showy in the morning.
Facing Qin Lang’s speechless gaze, Xie Yan stuffed a steamed bun into Ji Qinghuai’s mouth, blocking him from approaching.
Knowing that Xie Yan’s face was thin, Ji Qinghuai accepted the steamed bun, biting it and turning to look at Qin Lang. Those eyes were bright and sparkling as if stars were shining inside them.
Qin Lang understood that Ji Qinghuai was over the moon to obtain what he had longed for.
Previously, because of his injuries, Ji Qinghuai stopped all his work. It was now the end of the year, so he planned to take a break, arrange his work for the new year and take advantage of this period to spend more time with Xie Yan.
A month later, on New Year’s Eve, they bid the past goodbye and welcomed the new. Ji Qinghuai honestly stayed at home with his family for the new year and the first day of the new year. After that, he ran away after lunch on the second day.
Recalling how Ji Qinghuai was always staring at his phone, Ji Xianzhi guessed that his son had fallen in love, but didn’t ask him anything and let him go.
Ji Qinghuai was delighted to return to Dixin Community. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Xie Yan sitting on the sofa with a teacup. He changed into slippers and closed the door. He quickly walked to Xie Yan’s side and hugged him directly.
“Yanyan, Happy New Year!”
Xie Yan held the teacup in his hand a little farther away so as not to spill the water inside, “Happy New Year.”
Ji Qinghuai wrapped his arms around Xie Yan and like a sticky kitten, leaned over and gently rubbed against his face, “We haven’t seen each other in a year, did you miss me?”
Just as Ji Qinghuai’s words fell, there was a burst of footsteps in his ears. He looked back and noticed that there were still guests in the house.
Xu Luo: “…”
Xu Luo didn’t mind the choking dog food and smilingly leaned to the side to watch the fun, “You guys continue.”
“Oh.” Ji Qinghuai replied. Then he really ignored Xu Luo, turned around and said to Xie Yan, “Yanyan, you haven’t answered my question. Did you miss me?”
Xie Yan: “…En.”
“En?” This wasn’t the answer Ji Qinghuai wanted. He expressed his dissatisfaction and asked further, “En…Did you miss me or not?”
Xie Yan glanced at Xu Luo who was interested in seeing the liveliness, “I didn’t miss you.”
Ji Qinghuai pouted in disappointment. “Mouth says one thing, but heart says another.” He said, letting Xie Yan go. Xu Luo also felt that Xie Yan was being duplicitous.
Xu Luo was very curious about how two people with contrasting personalities would get along with each other. He wanted to see a spirited show and learn, but it was a pity that it ended so fast.
The other owner of the house returned and Xu Luo, knowing that he was redundant, sat down for a while and left so that they could continue to flirt with each other.
It turned out that Dr Xu has foresight. As soon as his front foot left the door, Ji Qinghuai pressed Xie Yan onto the sofa and pulled out the same question “Did you miss me?” for half a day. While kissing him, he demanded the right answer. His actions made Xie Yan both speechless and helpless. Finally, he spoke from his heart.
“I missed you.”
Since they had confirmed their relationship, Ji Qinghuai appeared in front of Xie Yan every day and it had become a habit for Xie Yan. Recently, because of the New Year, the two hadn’t seen each other for a few days.
Although it was short, it didn’t prevent them from missing the other.
The new year had just begun and seemed to be developing in a good direction. Waving goodbye to the not so lucky previous year, Ji Qinghuai envisioned a bright future and his mood was indescribably joyous.
The two of them were now officially living together and Ji Qinghuai didn’t have to go back to Qin Lang’s house at night. His clothes and other necessities were also brought over. He found his pyjamas with ease and entered the bathroom after Xie Yan finished showering.
The room quieted down and so did Xie Yan’s heart. He sat on the bed, lost in thought.
After a while, the phone that was put aside released a “ding dong” sound, recalling Xie Yan’s thoughts. He picked up the phone and unlocked the screen, and read the message.
Zheng Lin: There is still no news, we will continue to look.
Xie Yan put the phone down and sighed lightly.
Since Xie Yan lived with Ji Qinghuai most of the time, he noticed that the frequency of nightmares gradually increased, a clear sign that the poison was getting stronger.
Xu Luo told Xie Yan that this situation would probably occur because Ji Qinghuai himself could not suppress the toxin, and if he didn’t find Lin Shuye and obtain the antidote, Ji Qinghuai would be in danger.
This was the biggest problem at the moment, but seeing Ji Qinghuai optimistic and cheerful all day, he didn’t want him to be affected by this matter. Thus, he didn’t intend to tell Ji Qinghuai about this for the time being.
But Xie Yan also knew in his heart that even if this matter was concealed, it could not be hidden for long. It was still important to treat the poison as soon as possible.
As he was thinking, the door was pushed open and Ji Qinghuai walked in wearing his pyjamas. Xie Yan’s gloomy mood disappeared instantly. When he raised his eyes, they had already regained their tranquillity and he could see Ji Qinghuai’s intention at a glance.
The top two buttons of Ji Qinghuai’s pyjamas were unbuttoned.
Ji Qinghuai sat down beside Xie Yan. A light fragrance slowly spread from the body of Ji Qinghuai and quietly drilled into the tip of Xie Yan’s nose. Ji Qinghuai’s hair had just been washed and was soft and fluffy. The dark brown hair shone under the light, each strand stained with the familiar smell.
Ji Qinghuai’s body not only had this fragrance, but also the familiar fragrance of grapefruit. The two scents didn’t clash with each other but blended and surrounded him.
This fragrant silver gradient cat deliberately scratched the tip of Xie Yan’s heart with his small paws, disturbing the calm in his heart.
Ji Qinghuai said casually, “Yanyan, I have a question for you.”
“What?” Xie Yan asked quietly.
“When did you guess I was the cat?”
Hearing this question, Xie Yan chuckled lightly and asked Ji Qinghuai, “Didn’t you expose yourself?”
“Was it very obvious?”Ji Qinghuai scratched his head and began to think back on actions that could have exposed him. “Before you were suspicious, I hid it quite well ah.”
Xie Yan felt anxious about this silly cat’s intelligence, “Actually, the first time I saw you…”
He paused, “The first time I saw you as a person, I already had my suspicions.”
Ji Qinghuai: “…”
Ji Qinghuai was astonished. “What did I do?”
“There were too many loopholes.” Xie Yan replied briefly and explained, “At that time, I noticed that you seemed to know a lot of things about me. I suspected that you deliberately approached me because you were plotting something, so I was defensive when I first met you.”
This was an unexpected harvest, Ji Qinghuai suddenly realized.
He had always thought that Xie Yan had ignored him back then because they were still unfamiliar with each other, but it turned out that it was actually like this.
However…
Ji Qinghuai said truthfully, “Actually…I had a motive, to get close to you.”
“En?” Xie Yan was slightly stunned.
“It’s because…” Ji Qinghuai fooled him and directly pinned Xie Yan down on the bed.
The atmosphere abruptly changed.
Ji Qinghuai opened his mouth slowly, “Approaching you because…I coveted your beauty.”
He held Xie Yan’s hand and intertwined their fingers. “Will you give it to me?”
After asking, he bowed his head and kissed him.
In the fiery and lingering kiss, both of them unconsciously ran out of breath, but in his sober state, Ji Qinghuai didn’t dare to make any rash moves. He could only carefully test Xie Yan’s attitude. He tenderly kissed Xie Yan’s forehead, the tip of his nose, his cheek, and finally lightly nibbled on a reddened ear.
Ji Qinghuai took a deep breath and the exhaled air fell on Xie Yan’s ears. He turned his head, revealing his fair and slender neck.
“Yanyan…” Ji Qinghuai held onto Xie Yan’s hand, enduring the tormenting urge and rubbed his ears, “If you don’t say anything, I’ll take it as a yes.”
Xie Yan remained silent.
Seeing the situation, Ji Qinghuai smiled. The more he saw Xie Yan’s serious look, the cuter he became, and he couldn’t help but move over and kiss Xie Yan again.
This time Ji Qinghuai was not so honest. His fingers passed through Xie Yan’s soft hair and slowly descended his neck. One by one, he unbuttoned his shirt…
In the morning, Ji Qinghuai slept until he woke up naturally. The phone placed next to the bed kept vibrating, pulling his consciousness back from the dream world.
Ji Qinghuai opened his sleepy eyes and cursed the person who was disturbing his sleep in his heart. He didn’t rush to answer the phone and instead looked at Xie Yan in his arms. Xie Yan was also awakened by the vibrations, revealing his beautiful eyes.
Last night, they both went to bed very late. Although Xie Yan didn’t say anything, they were both tired. This call was extremely untimely.
Ji Qinghuai whispered, “Wait until I see who it is, I’ll greet his ancestors and vent my anger.”
Saying that, Ji Qinghuai let go of Xie Yan and reached out for his phone. He thought about how to greet this person and then he looked at the caller ID: Little Cutie.
Ji Qinghuai: “…”
I can’t greet my ancestors.
Ji Qinghuai swiped the screen and asked with a yawn, “What’s wrong?”
Qin Lang heard Ji Qinghuai’s voice and knew that he had not yet woken up. He cut straight to the point, “Ma Wenbin is dead.”
Ji Qinghuai rubbed his eyes for a while, and his mind instantly woke up, “Who?”
Qin Lang repeated, “Ma Wenbin.”
Ji Qinghuai opened his mouth but didn’t speak. Seeing that Xie Yan was looking at him, he turned on the speaker. “When did this happen?”
“Last night,” said Qin Lang.
Last night?
Ji Qinghuai was a little confused about this. Ma Wenbin was a demon. How could he die so suddenly?
“How did he die?”
Qin Lang: “It was a homicide.”
Ji Qinghuai was startled and sounded a little incredulous. “He was killed?”
Ji Qinghuai wasn’t making a fuss, he was genuinely shocked. Not to mention how strict the control of the four districts was now, few people dared to lay a finger on Ma Wenbin due to his family background alone.
This seemed quite troublesome.
Ji Qinghuai frowned, “Who did it?”
Qin Lang on the other side of the phone was silent for a while, “Xie Yan.”
