Chapter 7

It has been three days since then, and I energetically completed one request per day, totaling three. In terms of the number of kills, it was fifteen, with 150 legs, and in terms of money, it amounted to twenty-eight gold coins. There were a few damaged items, which slightly lowered the purchase price, a flaw in an otherwise perfect situation.

Still, it wasn't enough to buy a full set of armor that matched my level; I was still half short.

On the final day, my level finally caught up with the underground crabs. I took the opportunity to visit the guild and, while in the corner of the room, I touched the 'Recognition Gauge' to check my status. This was more valuable because it could read deeper than my 'Recognition' skill, was more accurate, and allowed for a longer viewing time. It was also convenient that information would automatically pop into my eyes without needing to concentrate.

In just a few days, I had felt the benefits of leveling up many times. I could now cut through the crab's legs with one swing of the 'Helmet Splitter,' and I could withstand being hit by their large pincers without being blown away. In the final stages, I often finished them off with a single blow to the head without using a magic sword. Even without the energy grass, I could cut off all the legs within the time limit and carry them easily. Stacking them on the cart was still a bit of a struggle, though.

Level twenty... This is equivalent to the level of a royal guard knight. In just one week, by only defeating underground crabs... Is this okay? Do people know about this? Even if there is a huge skill gap, so much so that I can't even stand a chance, is this even possible... What were my brother's levels... It would be awkward if I surpassed them.

"Whoa!"

I couldn't help but exclaim. What is this number of skills? The bottom of the status bar was densely packed with added skills.

Active Skills... 'Helmet Splitter (2)' 'Slash (1)' 'Combo (1)' 'Step (1)' 'Recognition (1)'

Passive Skills... 'Strength Increase (2)' 'Endurance Enhancement (1)' 'One-Handed Sword (1)' 'Stamina Recovery (1)' 'Dual Wield (1)' 'Item Effect Increase (1)' 'Alchemy (5)' 'Gathering (5)'

Unique Skill... 'Magic Bullet (1)'

Title... 'Crab Hunter'

Some of the skills are a bit odd, but they seem to be rooted in experience. Things like 'proficiency' or 'familiarity' that don't seem worth displaying. The 'Alchemy' and 'Gathering' skills felt like all the experience from my childhood up to now had suddenly been added. It seems that the first time I used the 'Recognition' skill to alchemize, it read my past proficiency.

The title 'Crab Hunter' also seems to have a subtle effect. It has a 'Damage Plus Correction to Crustaceans' and is particularly effective against crabs.

Most importantly, the unique skill. This is a skill that has been passed down and kept secret in our family. It is the skill that supports my father's claim that we are descendants of a hero.

Still, why did it suddenly become visible on the 'Recognition Gauge' when it wasn't before?

I had given up on having the talent for 'Magic Bullet,' thinking I didn't have it. Did my level increase provide the foundation?

'Magic Bullet' is, as the name suggests, a magic bullet. It is a long-range attack magic that compresses and launches raw magic energy, but it is surprisingly tricky. First, those who possess 'Magic Bullet' generally can't use elemental magic. They can't even start a fire. Some in our family even celebrate not being able to obtain the 'Magic Bullet' skill. The direct line almost always ends up with it, which is why we are officially a knight family.

However, this skill is powerful because it is unique.

My eldest brother, Andrea, could use 'Magic Bullet' 'normally.' He could 'launch' it like a fireball or a wind blade. The power and range were on a different level, and in his childhood, he once blew away a mountain, saying, "The moon can't be seen because it's hidden behind the mountain." He always lamented, "It's too powerful to use," and would always add, "I envy you."

On the other hand, my second brother, Elman, couldn't use 'Magic Bullet' 'normally.' The magic power disappeared as soon as it left his body, so he couldn't launch it. Therefore, he learned to wrap 'Magic Bullet' around his fists or the soles of his feet. It's called 'Armor Piercer,' and he can take down tough enemies with a single blow without needing to defend. He does all sorts of reckless things, like deflecting swords with his bare hands. What will he do if he loses his fingers? He is a person with endless rumors, like "jumping over the city walls" or "completing a week-long journey in one day." He once pointed to the palace and said to my eldest brother, "Shall we give that area a shot?"

My eldest sister, Regina, is a rare talent who can use both 'Magic Bullet' and elemental magic. To be honest, she's scary. She once tried to gouge out my eyes while I was sleeping because she liked the color of my eyes. She was the one who took the most care of me, but I was really relieved when she went to the capital. I think my inability to use magic might be due to the trauma I received from her. That's why I wonder...

Why did I suddenly awaken now?

"Alright, that's enough. Thank you for your hard work. Please keep it up."

On that day, I returned the 'Harassment Sword' to the counter.

"Level twenty... This is equivalent to the level of a royal guard knight."

No, that's the minimum requirement for applying to the entrance exam (laughs).
