The next day, as usual, a large amount of snacks and some toys were delivered, but Jiantu had already instructed Guo Xiaodong to return anything Quxue'er sent if he arrived earlier than him. Guo Xiaodong did well today; when Jiantu arrived, there were no snacks or toys on the table, but there was a colorful envelope with four words written on it: "For Jiantu."
The handwriting was elegant and graceful, likely a girl's.
"Who is this from?" Jiantu asked Xia Shihan, who was already reciting history.
"Who else? Quxue'er, of course," Xia Shihan replied indifferently.
"Damn, not only sending things, but also a letter!" Jiantu sighed, put down his book, and picked up the envelope. Just as he was about to open it, Guo Xiaodong walked over, grinning at Jiantu. "Boss, I returned everything, but I took the liberty of keeping this envelope. Take a look."
"Good job," Jiantu patted Guo Xiaodong's shoulder, sat down, and opened the envelope. He picked up a paper crane folded from pink paper and slowly unfolded it. Xia Shihan's beautiful eyes also glanced over.
It read: "I like you! I like you! I like you!" The entire page was filled with these four words followed by an exclamation mark.
Jiantu shook his head helplessly, picked up a pen, and wrote six large words at the bottom of the paper: "But I don't like you." Then he put it back in the envelope.
Suddenly, he looked up and met Xia Shihan's clear eyes.
Xia Shihan, as if she had done something wrong, quickly avoided Jiantu's gaze and continued reading her history book. Jiantu smiled slightly, "Shihan, you want to see it, right?"
"I don't want to see it at all," Xia Shihan said coldly. Although she was very curious about what Quxue'er had written to Jiantu and what he had replied, she couldn't just say it. If she did, it would mean she cared about the development of Jiantu and Quxue'er's relationship, wouldn't it?
Jiantu laughed heartily, "It's fine if you look. Anyway, there's nothing between us."
"Whether there's something between you or not, why do you have to tell me? I don't want to know your business," Xia Shihan continued reading without looking at Jiantu.
Jiantu looked at Xia Shihan's moist, cherry lips, which were slightly pouting, and felt extremely pleased. Seeing Xia Shihan get upset about this meant she really wanted to see it. Jiantu unfolded the letter and placed it near the middle of their desk.
"What are you doing?" Xia Shihan, seeing Jiantu's actions, turned her head and immediately saw the "I like you! I like you!" on the envelope. Instantly, she felt a strange sadness. But the next moment, when she saw Jiantu's elegant and distinctive five large words, "But I don't like you," she felt a sudden relief. The conflicting emotions made her feel very strange.
"Oh, I just finished writing and need to let it dry," Jiantu smiled, pointing to the six large words.
"Hmph, this isn't written with a brush, why does it need to dry? It's already over my side!" Xia Shihan extended her finger and pushed the paper.
"Oh, sorry!" Jiantu had intentionally placed it over Xia Shihan's side so she could see clearly. Now that he was sure she had seen it, he folded the paper and put it back in the envelope: "It's dry now. Hehe."
"Hmph, boring. Get back to studying!" Xia Shihan waited for Jiantu.
Jiantu was taken aback, nodded, and said, "Yes, my beautiful class president, I will throw myself into endless studying with infinite enthusiasm."
"Ha!" Xia Shihan, amused by Jiantu, covered her mouth and giggled, "Get back to studying..."
Watching Jiantu open his book and start reading, Xia Shihan's mind suddenly thought of something. She actually felt a bit of anticipation that he might end up in the same school as her. But that was impossible. He had fallen too far behind; even if he studied day and night, he couldn't catch up on two years of coursework in just over two months.
He was once a genius, a legend, but now the genius had fallen, and the legend was no more, a truly regrettable situation!
But then Xia Shihan thought of Tang Dynasty's universe and realized they seemed to have some similarities, a vague feeling.
"Never mind, don't think about it," Xia Shihan shook her head and continued studying.
After class, Jiantu asked Guo Xiaodong to deliver the letter to Quxue'er.
Guo Xiaodong had a female student pass the envelope to Quxue'er, and Cao Le saw everything.
Quxue'er, upon receiving the envelope, felt an intense nervousness. She had wondered if Jiantu would even reply, and even considered not looking at it. But when she saw it returned, she felt a different kind of excitement, which meant Jiantu had read it.
Quxue'er's hands trembled as she slowly opened the envelope. When she saw "But I don't like you!" her body immediately shook, and she slammed her hand on the desk, then fell onto it, sobbing.
Cao Le saw all of this. His mood was extremely complex. On one hand, he hoped Guo Xiaodong's delivery of the letter would make Quxue'er happy. On the other hand, he didn't want her to be nice to any other boy because he had deeply fallen in love with her.
The conflicting emotions, combined with Quxue'er's sobs, intensified Cao Le's resentment.
Cao Le stood up and left the classroom.
"Boss, it's delivered," Guo Xiaodong came to Jiantu and Xia Shihan's seats and said to Xia Shihan.
"Oh, that's good. Did she say anything?" Jiantu asked.
"No, I had a classmate pass it to her," Guo Xiaodong replied.
Jiantu nodded and glanced at Xia Shihan.
"Guo Xiaodong, get your ass out here!" At that moment, a voice came from the door. Jiantu and Guo Xiaodong were taken aback and looked up to see Cao Le, who was fuming at the door.
"Xiaodong, what happened?" Jiantu asked curiously.
"Ah, I don't know. I don't even know him. Oh, he's from Quxue'er's class. Damn, boss, he looks like he wants to beat me up, but I didn't do anything to him!" Guo Xiaodong said angrily.
"Let's go see what's happening," Jiantu said calmly.
"I'll go too," Xia Shihan, as class president, naturally felt it was her duty to see what was going on.
Jiantu nodded.
The whole class fell silent, unsure of what was happening. Those who knew Cao Le were particularly surprised. Cao Le was usually a very mild-mannered person, but today he had apparently gone mad, standing at the door of another class and shouting such outrageous words!
