The Twenty-Third Sentence Part 2

After hanging the clothes, Pu Tao stood in front of the big window for a while, taking deep breaths and slowly releasing her emotions.

Shan City’s brilliant lights were below her, and she also realized that she could see the towers where she was. It was so tall, and twinkling like a star.

Once Pu Tao made sure that there were no distractioning thoughts in her mind, and she slowly walked back to the living room.

Cheng Su happened to come out of his bedroom with clothes in his hands. He probably wanted to take a shower.

They looked at each other and paused.

Pu Tao was surprised for a moment. She had to suppress the fantasies that were trying to develop again.

She swallowed, trying to keep her voice from fluctuating. “I’m going to sleep.”

Cheng Su’s lips curved. “Okay. Good night.”

His expression and tone could be considered pretty harmless, to the point of where a person would not produce any wicked desires. Pu Tao wanted to take a hammer to her head. It was like she was the only one who allowed her imagination to run wild.

Pu Tao also said, “Good night.” Then, she went past him and walked back to the guest room. Before closing the door, she quietly took a glance from the door gap. The man was walking to the bathroom. He appeared so slender and beautiful.

"

"

Pu Tao closed the door, and heaved a sigh of relief. It was like she had finally escaped from the hidden chamber.

She didn’t have the courage to relax, so she sat down next to the grayish-blue headboard, unplugged the portable battery and changed the plug to recharge it.

With both hands on her phone, Pu Tao swiped through Weibo without paying attention to it. She was actually paying attention to all the movements outside of the room.

Do men always take fast showers?

She felt that it was only a short while before Cheng Su walked out of the bathroom.

After that, she heard him say a few words to Da Tiao. The door blocked the sound too well, so she could not hear him clearly. After that, it seemed like the man went back to his room.

She was only separated by a wall from him. ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙

Pu Tao finally slouched in defeat. She carefully put her legs on the bed, and finally sat in a more relaxing way.

At that moment, the phone suddenly shook. Pu Tao could not wait to unlock it. Soon, a smile rose for her lips. The only person looking for her at this time must be the person next door.

Cheng Su: “Are you fine with the bed?”

Pu Tao pulled her leggings in and pressed her chin to her knees. She used one hand to type: “I can sleep on beds that aren’t my own.”

Cheng Su: “That’s good.”

Pu Tao didn’t like the silence. “But I might still have a hard time sleeping.”

Cheng Su: “Because you drank coffee?”

Pu Tao revealed her true feelings: “Because I am spending the night at a man’s house for the first time.”

Cheng Su: “Lock the door if you are afraid.”

Pu Tao thought he must be joking: “You are my boyfriend, there is nothing to be afraid of.”

Cheng Su: “Heh.”

The “heh” was used quite subtly. It unexpectedly made Pu Tao think he was somewhat unbelievable.

The meaning flew over her head. Pu Tao tilted her head and her cheek touched her knee. “What are you laughing at? I have never been in love before.”

She plucked up the courage to explain more: “When you asked me to sleep in the guest room, is it because you felt that our relationship just started and we should not sleep together right away?”

Cheng Su replied, “I don’t encourage it.”

Pu Tao tried to probe him out, her heart slightly shrinking. “If I said I had thought about it, would you think that I am too careless?”

Cheng Su: “I can’t answer that.”

Pu Tao caught him by the tail. “See, so that’s what you think.”

Cheng Su: “It’s because I have also thought about it. I put myself in your shoes and thought that if I did that, you would think I was reckless.”

Pu Tao denied it. “I don’t think that!”

She gave him proof. “I didn’t lock the door.”

Cheng Su: “I suggest changing the subject.”

Pu Tao: “Huh?”

Cheng Su: “The more we talk, the harder it’ll be to sleep.”

Pu Tao instantly understood what he meant. She covered her lips and snickered. There was a villain in her heart, facepalming herself and trying to run away. “It’s normal for people in a relationship to talk about this, especially when they are in the same room.”

Cheng Su: “Yeah.”

Pu Tao: “But we are all under the same roof, so why are we chatting on Wechat?”

Cheng Su: “Will you be more comfortable?”

Pu Tao: “I don’t want to be a virtual lover all my life.”

The other side no longer replied. In a short moment, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Pu Tao’s heart jumped intensely. Her voice sounded a bit flustered and dry as if her heart was stuck in her throat. “What’s wro—”

“Come out.” Cheng Su’s tone was so at ease like there that there was nothing inappropriate going on.

Pu Tao clutched her phone. She was extremely nervous, but still tried to maintain her voice as she answered, “Why don’t you come in? I didn’t lock the door.”

In the next moment, the door handle moved.

Pu Tao was so frightened that she huddled up to protect herself.

Cheng Su laughed for a moment when he saw this.

He asked her to come out firmly, but she really told him to enter, and changed into a scaredy-cat in seconds.

Pu Tao looked up. She quickly got out of bed and stood. “What can I do for you?”

He looked at her. “Come here.”

Pu Tao walked a few steps closer, but there was still a bit of distance between them. “Huh?”

Cheng Su stayed in place. “I’m starting to feel lonely.”

Pu Tao was amused by his complaint. She pursed her lips and went forward. She was pulled into his arms before she could completely reach him. She felt his chest rising as if he couldn’t help it. “Hug your real life boyfriend.”

Pu Tao pressed against his chest. The corners of her lips rose, and she put her arms around his back.

Cheng Su leaned down and asked, “What’s that smell on you?”

“Huh?” Pu Tao looked down.

Cheng raised her chin with one hand. “What did you use to shower with?”

Pu Tao looked into his eyes. “It’s… your shower gel?”

Cheng Su gently pinched her cheek and said seriously, “This is the first time I think it smells really good.”

Pu Tao couldn’t stop her laughter but also couldn’t free herself from his hand. She could only pout and say her complaint with an unclear voice, “Let go-o.”

“Okay,” He answered in a low voice and he leaned down.

Mm.

He let go of his hand and her mouth was tied up again.
