Since it was still summer vacation, when Sun Yan woke up, the sky was already bright, and the morning light shone through the window, casting a pale green curtain into a bluish-white hue.
Yawning, he lazily got out of bed and walked out, heading to the door. As he reached out to open it, he wondered why he had locked his room from the inside last night. When the door opened, a blinding light flashed in his eyes, and then a beautiful girl appeared before him.
"Sorry, I must have come to the wrong house." Sun Yan instinctively closed the door and stared at his bed in a daze.
After a while, he came to his senses, turned around, and opened the door again, staring blankly at the living room.
At that moment, the entire living room looked spotlessly clean, free of any dust. The coffee table and the sofa were as bright as mirrors, and it was their reflection that had blinded him.
Looking to the side, Du Xiangxiang stood delicately beside the coffee table, softly saying, "Young Master, you're awake?"
At that moment, Du Xiangxiang was still wearing a peach-red blouse and an autumn-green pleated skirt. These two colors didn't really match, but the blue thread embroidered at the edges created a visual separation, giving a fresh and distinct layered look. This color combination was clearly carefully designed.
Her clothing material was also extremely exquisite. Sun Yan couldn't recall any of his female classmates wearing such high-quality fabric. Just from her clothes, it was evident that she came from a wealthy family... of course, assuming her clothes weren't stolen.
At that moment, her hairstyle had been redone into two buns, tied with light red silk scarves, forming two pouches. This was a style typical of little girls or ancient maids, but Sun Yan didn't know where she found such exquisite scarves.
"Did you do this?" He stepped out of his room, standing in the living room, looking around in surprise.
Du Xiangxiang looked embarrassed, "I just woke up early and got used to doing things, so I found something to do."
Sun Yan raised his head in confusion and noticed that even the dust on the ceiling was gone. He didn't know how she managed to clean everything so thoroughly. Over the past six months, he had been living alone, and although he wasn't lazy, he hadn't done much cleaning. There was a lot of dust in the corners, but now everything looked as if it had been washed with water.
Did she stay up all night cleaning for him?
Or did she originally plan to sneak in at night, but failed because he locked his door, and had no way to vent her energy?
Sun Yan thought this was very likely...
Du Xiangxiang said shyly, "I originally planned to prepare breakfast early so that Young Master could eat when he woke up, but although I found ingredients in Young Master's fridge, I couldn't find any colored pens."
"Huh?" Sun Yan looked at her, "Colored pens?"
Du Xiangxiang was very regretful, "Yes, because I didn't have colored pens, I couldn't cook for Young Master." She bowed apologetically.
Colored pens? Cooking with colored pens?
This girl must have come from a mental hospital! Sun Yan took a step back... to keep his distance.
He asked cautiously, "Isn't there an induction cooker there?"
Du Xiangxiang was puzzled, "Induction cooker?"
Sun Yan led her to the kitchen and pointed to the induction cooker, "This one."
Du Xiangxiang looked at the induction cooker and the iron pot on it, her bright eyes widening as if trying to figure out what it was for.
So, she had never cooked before.
Sigh, never mind, he would have to do it himself.
He found unused towels and toothbrushes for Du Xiangxiang and asked her to wash up first. Sun Yan cooked two dishes of vegetables and a pot of noodles. Soon, the two of them were eating breakfast at the table. Sun Yan drank the noodle soup in large gulps, and when he looked over, he saw Du Xiangxiang taking a small bite with her chopsticks, followed by tears welling up in her eyes.
Hey, what's that expression... I definitely didn't put poison in it.
Du Xiangxiang looked at him pitifully, as if asking... Can this be eaten?
Sun Yan felt very frustrated. Because of his mother, he had developed good cooking skills from a young age. Although this meal was just a simple one, it shouldn't be so bad that it was inedible.
The girl, embarrassed to say it was bad, forced herself to finish her bowl of noodles.
"Let me cook lunch," Du Xiangxiang pleaded, "Please buy some colored pens and white paper, or else... or else..."
Sun Yan thought she was trying to say that if she had to eat this kind of food, she would die.
Reluctantly, Sun Yan went downstairs, thinking, "Mental girls are full of surprises," to the supermarket to buy colored pens and white paper, and to the market to buy some ingredients and fruits. He also looked for any missing person notices but found none. When he returned home, he handed the colored pens for elementary school students to Du Xiangxiang, "Will these do?"
"These will do!" Du Xiangxiang happily took them, "Thank you, Young Master."
Cooking with colored pens? Crazy! Although no one seemed to have escaped from the local mental hospital, she might have come from another city. He would call other mental hospitals tomorrow.
Sun Yan shrugged and walked to his room... Wow!
Just a short trip to the supermarket and market, and his room was already spotless. The desk and floor were so clean they could reflect his face, the quilt was neatly folded, and the sheets were so flat he felt embarrassed to lie on them. More importantly, he couldn't see where the mental girl had put the trash, and there were no garbage bags at the door.
Did she run down the stairs to throw everything away and then run back like the wind while I was downstairs? Amazing speed!
"Young Master!" A gentle voice called from behind him.
He turned around and saw Du Xiangxiang standing there, holding a cup of water, "Young Master, please drink."
Sun Yan took the cup and saw the sweet bubbles in the liquid. He asked, "What is this?"
"Little one used the apples Young Master just bought to make fresh juice."
"Wait, I don't have a juicer at home, right?" Even if he did, it wouldn't be silent and quick enough to make juice so fast.
Du Xiangxiang opened her big eyes, "Juicer?"
Hey, how did you make juice without a juicer? Are you sure this is safe to drink? I get it, you failed to sneak in last night, so you want to drug me?
Although he thought this, the mental girl's expression was so innocent that Sun Yan wondered if he was mistaken. He asked, "Without a juicer, how did you make the juice?"
Du Xiangxiang looked at him strangely, as if she didn't understand why he would ask such a simple question, "With colored pens, of course."
So, colored pens can not only cook but also make juice? Are they magical pens? That's quite a capable pen...
"Can I see how you do it?" He couldn't help but ask.
Du Xiangxiang looked at him in confusion, as if wondering why he didn't know such a simple thing, but she kindly went to the living room to demonstrate. She sat gracefully on her knees beside the low coffee table, the hem of her autumn-green skirt just covering the edges of her slippers.
Sun Yan sat cross-legged on the other side of the coffee table and watched as she placed a sheet of white paper in front of her and used the colored pens, which were originally for children's drawings, to draw on it. She first drew a nine-square grid on the outer circle, then filled it with various colors, which intertwined. After finishing, she placed a washed apple in the center of the drawing, with an empty cup beside it. Then she clasped her hands in front of her chest and chanted over the apple.
Indeed, mental girls are full of surprises! Sun Yan thought.
Before he could finish his thought, he heard a "swish," and a green light flashed, as if from a sci-fi movie. The apple turned into particles that flew up, and Du Xiangxiang extended her finger, waving it to the left, and all the juice flew into the clean glass cup. She then waved it to the right, and all the pulp fell to the other side, forming a small pile.
"Young Master, please!" She handed the glass, now filled with translucent, clear juice, to Sun Yan.
Sun Yan was completely stunned, his mouth agape.
"Young Master?" The girl looked at him with bright eyes.
"Is this... magic?"
"Magic?" Du Xiangxiang looked startled, quickly putting down the cup, turning to face him, and bowing deeply, looking very embarrassed, "I know Young Master still doesn't believe I'm a celestial maiden. It's all my fault for not being able to prove my identity with magic."
"What you just did..."
"I am truly from the celestial realm," the girl said with tears in her eyes, "Please, Young Master, give me some time, and I will prove it to you."
"What you just did is...?" Sun Yan felt his tongue tying itself, "Magic?"
"Magic?" Du Xiangxiang looked at the freshly squeezed juice, "No."
"Then what is it?"
"Juicing!" Du Xiangxiang glanced at him... Am I going to marry such a stupid person?
Sun Yan: "..." Indeed, it was juicing...
...
