After returning to the haunted house at 1044, Han Fei did not rush to exit the game. He simply cleaned up the room a bit.

"The beginner tasks of sleeping and bathing are not yet completed. I'll keep these tasks for the next login."

Han Fei had his own plan. Compared to hidden tasks that required him to trigger them, the beginner tasks were relatively low-risk.

He had to complete a task after logging into the game to be able to exit. There were no more tasks from Meng Shi, so he had to keep the beginner tasks for emergencies.

He glanced at the digital clock on the wall; it was 3:58 AM. The sky outside the apartment building was still pitch black, as if the sun in this world would never rise.

"It's time to leave. If I keep this tense, I'll probably go crazy sooner or later." After experiencing the deepest fear, Han Fei realized that his simple and peaceful life was actually beautiful. This "Perfect Life" game had given him eyes to see beauty and love.

He opened the attribute panel and was about to click the exit button in the corner when he suddenly noticed that one of the chat rooms, which had previously been gray and inaccessible, was now lit up.

In the sea of lifeless chat rooms, the chat room numbered 444 stood out brightly.

"Can I enter?" Han Fei glanced at the digital clock again; it was 3:59 AM. At the transition between night and dawn, one of the 999 chat rooms had undergone some change.

He reached out and clicked on chat room 444, and a cold system voice echoed in his mind.

"Do you want to enter chat room 444?"

"Yes."

"Do you want to speak anonymously?"

"Anonymously." Han Fei chose anonymity without hesitation. It was a joke to expose his ID in a place full of ghosts and perverts; the risk was too high.

Entering the chat room anonymously, Han Fei waited a few seconds, but no one spoke.

He hesitated for a moment and sent the first message: "Is anyone there?"

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "Still online at 4 AM? Brother, are you liver all over?"

"Liver all over?" Han Fei thought about the image for a moment; it was quite terrifying. He didn't understand the deeper meaning behind the phrase.

To get more information without exposing himself, Han Fei was very cautious.

The other party dared to reveal their ID, indicating they had some confidence and were likely an experienced player.

Another possibility was that the other party had obtained a tool to modify their ID, using a fake name.

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "Brother, are you still there? You're so dedicated; what level are you now?"

Trying to get his level so casually? Han Fei frowned and sent another message.

Anonymous User: "What about you?"

Without revealing any information, he redirected the question to the other party. Whether the other party lied or not, as long as they gave a specific number, it would give Han Fei more insight into the outside world.

This was the art of conversation, the psychological warfare between high-level players!

Han Fei focused his full attention on the chat room; this was the first time he had encountered another player in the game.

The other party could survive in this hellish game and send messages with such a relaxed tone, indicating they had experienced a lot.

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "I'm a medical advisor participating in the test project. I'm just level 14. I have to work at the hospital during the day, so I can only play at night. My level isn't very high, not like you liver kings."

Reading Huang Ying's message, Han Fei fell into deep thought. He had only asked about the level, but the other party had revealed their profession, daily routine, and game time.

"Is he trying to confuse me with so much information? He must know what I meant by asking about his level, to assess the threat he poses to me, but he cleverly used a lot of information to obscure it."

Anonymous User: "Level 14? That's pretty fast. How do you usually level up?"

Han Fei didn't think the other party would reveal their leveling method, but to his surprise, Huang Ying responded shortly after he sent the message.

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "Since I'm a doctor in real life, I went to the hospital and started as an intern. I complete daily learning tasks, help doctors with miscellaneous tasks, patrol the wards at night, and even pursue a nurse in the department. Before I knew it, I was level 14. This game is quite addictive; it's free from real-life troubles and gives a sense of controlling life and creating the future."

Seeing Huang Ying's message, Han Fei's frown deepened: "Is this the demeanor of a high-level player? The hospital is definitely more dangerous than an ordinary residential area, and he dares to patrol the wards at night and help doctors with tasks?"

Images of organ trafficking, operating rooms, and various terrifying and bloody scenes flashed through Han Fei's mind. All the doctors' white coats were stained red, and Huang Ying was pushing a cart full of fresh organs down the hospital corridor at night.

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "This game has no fixed playstyle. I'm a casual player. What kind of life did you choose, brother?"

Staring at the message in the chat room, Han Fei didn't know how to respond. He wasn't sure what bizarre life he had chosen; he hadn't even left the apartment building yet.

Han Fei knew nothing about the world outside the apartment, but he didn't want the other party to see his weakness.

If the other party knew of his existence and confirmed that he was weak, they might see him as prey. After all, this was a hellish world where ghosts roamed and the weak were preyed upon!

Anonymous User: "I'm also a casual player. I occasionally go to my neighbor's house for dinner, usually hang out with friends in the room watching TV, and play hide-and-seek with the kids in the neighborhood when I'm free."

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "Wow! Envious. Having a group of friends to play with is indeed great!"

Anonymous User: "Yes, it's a great feeling!"

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "We can add each other as friends. Since we both play at night and have similar game philosophies, many testers play this game to explore deeper gameplay, but they forget the original purpose of the game."

Anonymous User: "Deeper gameplay?"

Huang Ying (Test Account No. 0999): "I've only heard about it. It's said that this game is designed around the theme of human nature. They compare human nature to an iceberg floating in the sea. The part exposed to sunlight is just a small part of the iceberg, while the majority of the iceberg is submerged in the deep, cold ocean."
