Chapter 79

After hearing Sister Long’s words, Han Fei remained calm at first, but then a wave of emotion slowly emerged in the depths of his mind.

From graduating from the film academy, to starting work behind the scenes, to having his own show, and then losing everything.

All the memories surfaced in an instant, and Han Fei slowly raised his finger to point at himself.

"Me? The lead role?"

"That's right. After considering all aspects, you are the most suitable lead for this drama!" Director Jiang nodded firmly, then he patted Han Fei's shoulder: "When you become famous in the future, remember to treat me to a meal!"

The long-held wish was actually realized at this moment, and Han Fei never expected that all his previous efforts to achieve it had been in vain.

Now he studied criminal psychology every day, preparing to become a police auxiliary, and ended up being chosen as the lead role.

"This is a script we tailored specifically for you, take a look." Sister Long handed the script to Han Fei: "You don't need to play someone else; in this drama, you are the lead, you play yourself."

Han Fei didn't let the immense joy cloud his judgment. He carefully read through the script, and the few people in the room patiently waited for him.

After about ten minutes, Han Fei put down the script and said, "This script is too unrealistic. I'm not as capable as it describes. In fact, the main reason the Human Jigsaw Case was solved after ten years was due to the Xinhu police and Meng Changxi."

"Meng Changxi?" Sister Long and Director Jiang's understanding of Meng Changxi was limited to that live broadcast.

"He is the older brother of the real culprit. The key evidence I provided to the police came from him." Han Fei sat down in the room and briefly recounted the entire case.

"In this case, I mainly played the role of providing clues. If we must choose a lead, I think Meng Changxi and Meng Chang'an are more suitable. One is the darkness hidden in the light, and the other is the light hidden in the darkness."

New actors usually wouldn't dare to give such direct feedback to the director and producer, but Han Fei was special because he had personally participated in solving the case.

"I suggest making Meng Changxi the male lead and Meng Chang'an the male antagonist. This would be the most realistic portrayal." Han Fei stared at the script on the table and expressed his opinion.

"We also want to adapt it based on reality, but the question is, can you play Meng Changxi? This character's personality is too complex, and he must have suffered some psychological trauma." Sister Long was an expert and knew that such a character would be very difficult to portray.

"If anyone in this world can understand Meng Changxi's inner world, it should be me. I have seen his true side and heard his mother's stories about his childhood." Han Fei was confident he could play Meng Changxi well.

"Even if you can perfectly portray Meng Changxi, who will act opposite you? Who will play Meng Chang'an? These two characters are in constant conflict, and their acting must be on par. Otherwise, one's excellent performance will completely overshadow the other's." Sister Long shook her head: "I don't think anyone in this production can portray the deep-seated perversion of Meng Chang'an."

"Perhaps I can also play Meng Chang'an."

"You want to play both roles?"

"I want to try. After all, I am one of the people who understands them the most."

Han Fei carefully recalled everything about Meng Chang'an, from the books he often read to the story of Meng Shi, the repressed and perverted youth.

His facial expressions kept changing, and different shadows flashed through his mind.

First, the bloodthirsty killer on the sixth floor, then Xu Qin's complete madness and uncontrollable cutting urges, followed by the two scarred madmen on the sixth floor, and finally the snake-like, effeminate killer.

In a very short time, Han Fei continuously portrayed four different types of perverted killers, leaving everyone in the room completely stunned.

And this was just the beginning. Han Fei knew that Meng Chang'an, on the surface, was a very rational and calm high-quality individual. He excelled in his studies, was highly capable, and even became a senior executive at a large company like Yongsheng Pharmaceuticals.

No one who saw him would associate him with perversion, but this person, who would abuse animals when angry as a child and commit heinous crimes in pursuit of butterflies, had a dark and perverted side that was initially evident but gradually learned to hide.

Anger, killing, lust, and repression—all these emotions hatched a demon in his heart.

The terrifying and perverted expressions on Han Fei's face slowly faded, but the demon in his heart was laughing maniacally.

The more normal he appeared on the surface, the more疯狂 his inner world became.

When the last trace of his demonic expression disappeared, the demon in his heart finally took over everything.

Opening his eyes, Han Fei looked at everyone in the room, bringing a special sense of oppression. They felt as if they were facing not a person but a dark sea.

Sister Long, with years of experience, had never seen such a terrifying actor before.

Han Fei's performance was too good, far exceeding her expectations.

"Amazing."

Sister Long threw the script on the table into the trash can and walked up to Han Fei: "I rarely see such good acting in actors in their twenties. It's right to entrust this drama to you."

Once he entered the role, it took Han Fei some time to come out of it: "This is my first time as the lead. I will do my best to perform well, but I hope you can respect the facts and the people who were hurt by this case."

"No problem, we will try to stay true to reality." Sister Long turned to Jiang Yi and said, "Go call the screenwriter. Let Han Fei participate in the scriptwriting, and start filming as soon as possible to make up for the lost time."

"Okay."

Director Jiang took out his phone and started contacting the screenwriter, while Sister Long called over the female lead: "Han Fei, this is our company's new actress. The original plan was to promote her through this drama. I hope you can help her with her acting."

Looking at the female lead's slender arms, Han Fei slowly stood up: "Is her role in this drama a female police officer?"

"Yes, the original plan was for her to assist you in solving the case, and you two would be partners."

"Acting is indeed important, but more than acting..." The image of Li Xue flashed through Han Fei's mind. He walked up to the female actress and asked, "Can you fight?"
