Chapter 15

There's a large rocky area at the edge of my garden.

I usually use it as a walking path, but there are a lot of big rocks scattered around.

It was caused by a dragon digging up the area during a battle with a witch, but anyway,

"This needs to be cleared up. It's hard to walk through."

"Yes, that's true. It might also be an obstacle if we try to landscape the garden."

Since it's such a hindrance, I want to clear it up today.

"Maybe I should make a Wood Golem for the removal."

So, I decided to instruct the Wood Golem to do the heavy work and selected a few apple trees to turn into golems.

Arms and legs sprouted and stood upright,

"But one at a time is a bit small. Let's make them bigger."

To make the golem larger, you can either use the same material or combine the same golems.

So, I raised my hands on the spot to combine two golems and make them larger. However,

"Whoa?"

"---Master!?"

Oops, I made a mistake.

I got caught between two Wood Golems while they were combining their right arms.

"Are you alright!? Are you hurt!?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine."

Sakura is panicking, but fortunately, I'm unharmed.

My hand is stuck in the twisted wood, so it looks like I'm being crushed, but the golem doesn't have any strength, so it doesn't hurt.

Anyway, since it's inconvenient, I need to pull it out quickly,

"Hmm? What?"

When I tried to pull it out, the golem that was in the process of combining moved.

It raised its right arm.

"It's moving even though I haven't given it any orders yet."

"Really...? Why is that...?"

Sakura also doesn't seem to know.

To confirm, I tried moving my right arm again, including my fingers this time.

And it moved just as I did.

"Oh, it's mimicking my arm movements."

"It's similar to synchronization. It seems to be receiving the magic power transmitted from your body as a signal."

"Really? Can it do that?"

"No, I've never done it before, so I don't know. But if Master can do it, then it must be possible."

Wow, that's interesting.

This block of wood is moving just like me. If that's the case,

"...I have an idea."

"Yes?"

"Sure enough, if I bury my whole body, I can move it."

"Wow, impressive, Master."

In front of the mirror, I had become a Wood Golem.

Or rather, I had turned myself into a golem, or created an outer shell for myself.

I tried burying myself inside the golem.

I thought I might be able to move my whole body.

"Surprisingly, it works better than I expected."

I can control a three-meter-tall Wood Golem in detail.

Usually, I can only give simple commands like hitting things that come close or walking, but now I can move it with my own will. It's quite convenient.

"Calling it Wood Armor makes it sound weak, but it's actually pretty good. It makes heavy work easy and it's interesting."

With this, I can move the rocks to wherever I want.

I tried it, and even rocks weighing dozens of kilograms were easy to carry.

I don't understand the mechanism, but it feels like the trees are acting as muscles. In other words, it's very easy.

If I make it smaller, I can use it inside the house. So I want to keep using it...

"However... the build is a bit sluggish."

When I looked at myself in the mirror, my whole body looked oddly bulky.

It looks like I'm wearing a lot of padding. Or in this case, a lot of wood.

"Master, you've created something you've never worn before. I think this is a good start."

Sakura says that, but I want to make it a bit more streamlined.

I don't have any knowledge of sculpture or anything, but it just looks kind of ugly.

"Yeah... I kind of miss being able to see Master's face."

"Then, let's pay a bit more attention to the face part."

Maybe I can take inspiration from Asura statues or Nio statues.

Anyway, there are various points to improve, but I've acquired a wearable heavy machine.

With this, gardening will be much easier!

However, I'm tired from making the armor, so I'll go to bed today.

I'll move the rocks afterward.
