Chapter 35

During the day, I continued renovating the house in the apple orchard.
In the end, I dismantled the pyramid structure in just one day and returned it to its original tower form.
Living in it wasn’t a problem, but the appearance was just not good enough.
So, I was now focusing on restoring the original tower shape and refining its form.
Unlike when renovating, I could revert the tower to its original shape in an instant.
"Since I have memorized the original shape, it’s possible to revert it by just channeling magic power."
That’s what it seems.
Sakura has memorized the basic shape, so I can practice renovation as much as I want.
"Such things require a lot of practice to get right."
It’s the same as creating a Wood Golem. If you’re not used to it, it’s hard to shape it properly.
"Master, I make Wood Golems almost every day."
"Yeah, thanks to that, both the Wood Golems and the armor have improved quite a bit."
The Golems, which were initially clunky, can now have a Nio face carved on them.
The practice Golems are placed in the apple orchard, and I think they turned out pretty well.
"However, unlike the Golems, it takes a considerable amount of magic power just to revert the house."
Even though I’m using Sakura’s magic power in sync, the consumption is still intense.
Moving the house block by block requires my power, which is not negligible.
After a few times, I need a break.
"Yes... I’m sorry, my power is not sufficient."
"No, there’s no need to apologize."
This is quite interesting in its own way.
I can reassemble and review the changes during breaks.
While I was thinking about this,
"...You’re using magic power in a strange way again."
Hestia came out of the shack in the apple orchard, rubbing her eyes, which means she might have just woken up.
"Good morning, Hestia."
"Hmm, good morning. I’ve been feeling fluctuations in magic power since yesterday... I didn’t expect you to be using it like this."
Is she surprised?
Or perhaps exasperated?
Hestia stared intently at the newly reassembled house.
"Amazing. But you’re using magic power like water. Even for you, the consumption must be intense."
"Yeah, you can tell, huh?"
"Hmm... Normally, just one attempt would use enough magic power to make someone collapse. —So, this. Using this makes it easier."
She handed me a white staff, which was thicker and more robust than before.
"Did you make this from yesterday?"
"Yes. It took some time, but I made it even more durable than before. It’s even less likely to break."
"Wow, thanks, Hestia. But, using this, does it mean it’s a magic key?"
Can it be used for reassembling the house?
"Probably, if we can store the shape in the magic key, it should be possible to change it. How about it? Is that correct?"
Hestia tilted her head and asked me and Sakura.
"I don’t know, but can you do it, Sakura?"
"Um... Yes. I might need to sync with me, but if a specific shape is set, I think it can be reassembled instantly. Since I remember the original shape, it should be possible to revert it instantly."
Wow, that’s impressive.
So, we just need to memorize the shapes we create.
And set keywords to transform them.
"But, I’m not sure if it really works. Should we try it?"
Let’s register the current shape as the "Normal Tower" in the magic key,
"Sakura, sync with me. I’ll make a small change."
"Yes, please."
I held the white staff and touched Sakura.
I imagined the shape it had been up until this morning and combined it with words,
"Mode: Pyramid!"
I spoke the words.
Instantly, my house transformed into a pyramid.
"Wow, it really changed in an instant."
"Excellent, Master!"
With this, I can reproduce any shape I’ve created at any time.
I don’t need to remember how I made it each time, which makes it much easier.
"...Hmm, this time, it didn’t break. The staff is perfect."
Hestia compared my face with the staff.
Indeed, the staff is intact. This is very useful.
Syncing with Sakura is necessary, but it’s energy-efficient and doesn’t consume much power.
"Perhaps, in the future, Master alone might be able to change the shape once it’s been transformed."
Wow, that would be even easier.
I won’t have to trouble Sakura every time I practice.
"Thanks, Hestia. This makes it much easier."
"Hmm... I’m glad. I managed to make something proper. If it breaks, I’ll fix it, so let me know anytime."
"Yeah, I’ll ask you again if that happens."
This way, my renovation efficiency improved even further.
Trying various shapes, registering them in the magic key, and reverting them, my house started to resemble a transforming robot.
But, in the end, it will settle into a comfortable shape, so I’ll try out different things for now.
