Chapter 5

My stomach growled.

“I’m hungry…”

I realized that using magic made me hungry more quickly.

It might be because I got carried away and grew too many apple trees.

“But the view is better this way.”

An apple orchard had formed in front of my house. It was a nice view.

However, in exchange, I was feeling very hungry.

“Would you like me to make a snack, Master?”

Sakura suggested, but at this rate of hunger,

a snack wouldn’t be enough.

“I want to eat meat.”

“Meat, Master?”

If possible, I’d prefer fresh meat, not canned—

“Oh.”

Looking up at the sky, I saw some good meat flying by.

“Dragons are edible, right?”

“Yes. According to the information I gathered from the natural trees, they are considered delicious.”

I remember the witch princess saying they were expensive and traded at high prices.

If that’s the case, a dragon will do. I’ll eat a dragon.

It’s a bit of a waste to give the witches some, but I can always catch more.

Besides, that one was too big.

“This time, I’ll go for a dragon of a more manageable size…”

I stared at the sky, searching.

It seems this magic has a positive effect on my body, improving my eyesight.

So, I can compare the sizes of the dragons flying in the sky.

Big ones, medium ones, super big ones. They’re swarming, but—

“Oh, there’s a good catch.”

Among them, there was a small one.

It was smaller and moved much faster than the others, but its size was just right.

“—”

It was flying low near my house, which was quite annoying, but it was perfect.

Its skin was iridescent, but it probably wasn’t poisonous.

“By the way, Sakura, can you process dragon meat?”

“Yes, Master. I’ve learned the necessary knowledge while gathering information. Besides, with magic, anything is possible.”

Reliable as always. Then, I should quickly get my prey.

“I want to eat meat!!”

I shouted loudly, letting my heart’s desire ring out to the sky.

The sound turned into a shockwave, rushing forward and hitting the target, but—

“—!?”

The small dragon suddenly turned around.

Did it dodge?

No, it must have been grazed, but it didn’t fall.

“Hmm, this voice’s range is too narrow. The power must have weakened. It dodged.”

From experience, my loud voice probably has a range of several dozen meters.

However, the dragon was more than a hundred meters above the ground, so the power might have diminished.

“If that’s the case, I should prevent it from dodging.”

I used my magic on two apple trees.

“—Pierce the sky!”

The apples, as I imagined, stretched high into the sky!

Then, they blocked the dragon’s path and retreat.

“~~!?”

Confused by the blocked paths, the dragon paused for a moment.

That was my chance.

This time, I took a deep breath and shouted with intent.

“Fall!!”

“Guhiiiiiiii…!!”

A faster shockwave than before rushed towards the dragon and hit it.

The iridescent dragon fell and landed with a thud.

“Good, the hunt is complete.”

It was completely still. I must have caught it.

It seems that magic is more powerful when a clear purpose is conveyed.

It was a good harvest in two ways.

“Good, good, meat, meat.”

Even though it was small, a dragon is still a dragon.

It was about a meter long and looked like it would provide a good meal.

“A big catch, Master.”

“Yeah, process it. I’m hungry.”

“Understood.”

The dragon was turned into steak. It was delicious.

I buried the blood and other residues near the apple orchard and used my magic to create ice to keep the leftover meat cold.

Self-sufficiency isn’t bad.

The next update is planned for late at night.
