"Yue Heng, how did you do on this exam?"
The boy with a face full of acne turned around and curiously asked Yue Heng.
For over a month since he transferred, Yue Heng had a rather cold relationship with his classmates.
At first, some boys and girls tried to get close to him, but none of them managed to win Yue Heng's friendship.
Everyone eventually gave up on the idea of getting along with him.
So what if he's a handsome guy?
Yue Heng didn't think he was anything special.
He just didn't want to waste time.
Only Zhang Jianyong, a boy sitting in the front row, had a rather outgoing personality.
He was always quite enthusiastic towards Yue Heng.
He often started conversations and even passed on a few love letters from girls in other classes to Yue Heng.
Yue Heng wasn't completely unsociable; sometimes he would chat with the other person.
He handed his report card to Zhang Jianyong with a straightforward attitude: "You look."
The teachers at Taijiang No. 5 Middle School graded very quickly, and the exam results were out by the third day after the mid-term exams.
Each student received a report card, clearly showing the scores for each subject and the rankings within the grade and class.
Of course, the report card only showed the scores and rankings of the student himself.
Some students were happy to share or compare.
Others treated it as a secret.
Yue Heng didn't have any intention of hiding his results.
In this mid-term exam, his total score was 581, ranking 43rd in the class and 824th in the grade.
The full score was 720.
Among the subjects, Yue Heng's English score was the best.
He scored 112 out of 120, ranking 12th in the grade and 2nd in the class!
This was because in the Star Sea Era, Chinese and English were the only two official languages of the Star Alliance.
Almost all members of the Star Alliance were proficient in these two languages.
So even though he didn't spend much time reviewing, he still managed to achieve an excellent score.
Unfortunately, his other subjects were not as good.
But Yue Heng felt quite satisfied with his performance.
In his first life, Yue Heng's academic performance was quite poor, and he quickly forgot most of what he learned after high school, which didn't help much for his current self.
The knowledge he acquired in his second life was too advanced to be directly applicable to what he was learning now.
To achieve such results in such a short time, Yue Heng felt that his efforts over the past month had not been in vain!
He was confident that he could significantly improve his grades in the next two months.
Because Yue Heng had already mastered many learning techniques.
"Amazing!"
Zhang Jianyong whistled and gave Yue Heng a thumbs up: "Second in the class for English!"
Zhang Jianyong was a sports student, very good at basketball, and a key player on the school team.
He was also a poor student.
His grades were much worse than Yue Heng's.
"Overall score isn't great."
Yue Heng smiled, took back his report card, and put it in his backpack before leaving.
Zhang Jianyong quickly called out: "Yue Heng, do you want to play basketball together?"
Yue Heng didn't even turn his head: "No time."
"No time" had become his catchphrase.
The perfect reason to avoid socializing!
Zhang Jianyong shrugged, used to it.
After leaving the school gate, Yue Heng took the usual shortcut to the bus stop.
He had good luck today; the No. 19 bus had just arrived when he got there.
It was rush hour, and the bus was quite crowded. Yue Heng stood by the door and swiped his student card.
After a few stops, Yue Heng suddenly noticed that a girl in front of him looked uneasy.
The girl had a delicate appearance and fair skin, wearing a school uniform that Yue Heng was very familiar with.
She tightly hugged her schoolbag, her face showing signs of shame and anger, and she kept dodging left and right.
However, the bus was packed, and the girl was very weak.
There was hardly any space for her to dodge.
Seeing this, Yue Heng frowned.
He suddenly pushed forward.
He reached out and grabbed a man wearing a mask standing behind the girl!
"Ah!"
The masked man exclaimed: "What are you doing!"
The people around him were startled and instinctively moved back, creating some space.
"What are you doing?"
Yue Heng held the masked man's shoulder with his right hand and pointed to his crotch with his left hand: "I was just about to ask you!"
The passengers around him looked at where he was pointing.
They immediately understood—so obvious!
Everyone was suddenly indignant.
"Disgusting!"
"Shameless!"
"How can you do such things at your age!"
"Call the police, driver, stop the bus."
"Repulsive!"
Some cursed the masked man, while others took out their phones to call the police.
The driver pulled over.
The masked man panicked and struggled to escape.
But he couldn't get away; he was surrounded by everyone.
Soon, the patrol police arrived.
After asking about the situation, the police immediately took the masked man away in the police car.
Considering that the victim was a junior high school student, the police did not ask her to go to the police station for a statement.
They just took her contact information.
The bus resumed its journey.
The delicate girl stood next to Yue Heng, her face red, and said: "Senior, thank you."
"You're welcome."
Yue Heng said: "If you encounter such a situation again, be brave and don't be afraid."
The girl nodded shyly: "Okay."
The passengers around them all smiled knowingly at the young couple.
Unfortunately, Yue Heng didn't have the mindset of a protagonist in a youth novel or TV drama. When he told the girl to "be brave," he was thinking of his past self.
If his first self had been braver, his fate would have been different.
When he reached his stop, Yue Heng got off the bus.
He heard the girl's voice behind him: "Senior, see you!"
Yue Heng waved his hand.
Back home, Yue Heng put down his heavy backpack and picked up his phone from the table.
The rules at No. 5 Middle School were very strict, and electronic devices were strictly prohibited on campus.
If caught, the school would call the parents, and repeated offenses would result in a warning.
So after buying a phone, Yue Heng never brought it to school.
The screen showed multiple missed calls.
All from his deadbeat dad.
Yue Heng thought for a moment and called back: "What's up?"
"Xiao Heng."
His deadbeat dad was cheerful: "Come home for dinner tomorrow night. Aunt Li Rong says she hasn't seen you in a long time."
"No time."
Yue Heng didn't give him any face: "I think Aunt Zhang Li Rong doesn't want to see me."
After giving his phone number to Yue Junmin, the deadbeat dad only contacted him a few times and never returned to his hometown.
As for Yue Heng's life and studies, he showed little concern.
If Yue Junmin had any sense of responsibility as a father, he would have asked about Yue Heng's mid-term exam results long ago.
Yue Heng didn't mind and even found it peaceful.
Going back to Zhang's house to face cold looks was out of the question!
"You brat!"
Yue Junmin shouted: "How do you talk to adults? Aunt Li Rong is... "
Yue Heng hung up directly.
His deadbeat dad was beyond help.
