The next day, Anyang woke up groggy, suddenly smelling a strong, pungent odor, which made him start coughing violently. The arduous training had begun.
Obstacle crossing, climbing over nets, crawling under barbed wire, and scaling steel frames were just a few of the countless tasks. Soon, sweat drenched his entire body, and his physical strength was severely depleted.
With his robust physical condition, Anyang completed many tasks more quickly than others. However, as time went on, he found it increasingly difficult to endure. No matter how proficient his military skills were, they were ultimately just a cheat. He had never undergone such training before, and his body was not accustomed to this way of exerting force. In this aspect, he was far inferior to these genuine special forces soldiers.
When it came to the zip line and combat zone crossing, Anyang's expression turned serious. This was the so-called "Devil's Path." He knew that the bullets and shells here were real, fully simulating a battlefield. If he was unlucky and got hit, he would have to start over.
The basic military proficiency included bullet evasion techniques, but he always felt that luck played a bigger role.
Artillery roared, and flames rose amidst the dust. Heavy machine gun bullets whizzed by. Even without the clashing of swords and armor, the smell of the battlefield was more intense than in ancient times.
When it was the second group's turn, Anyang charged forward without hesitation, gripping the zip line and sliding down until he jumped into the murky river, then moved forward without stopping.
While advancing, he also had to fire his gun. At this distance, the intermediate-level firearms proficiency showed its power. He could easily hit the targets, even outperforming the two Chinese special forces soldiers with the protagonist's aura.
After a round of training, as expected, the Crocodile instructor, who was watching through a telescope, stopped and said to the recorder beside him:
"Second group, the Chinese students number 5, 6, and 7, have the best performance."
The training did not stop; on the contrary, the truly exhausting part was yet to come, including dangerous rock climbing and extremely tiring sand crawling, which left many special forces soldiers exhausted.
Anyang secretly thanked himself for allocating some points to his constitution. Otherwise, with only speed and strength, he would have already collapsed.
The original plot had unchangeable parts. Hu Xiaolong, due to his large boots, moved inconveniently, and Yang Hui accompanied him, falling behind. Anyang also stayed close to them, sharing their fate.
All three ended up in the last five, not only losing the right to eat but also having to run 5 kilometers on the beach. Two special forces soldiers immediately quit out of dissatisfaction.
The plot was similar to the original. Hu Xiaolong tried to explain and defend Anyang and Yang Hui, but was rejected.
Foreign special forces soldier number 41 struck the bell symbolizing shame and surrender. Anyang patted Yang Hui and Hu Xiaolong on the shoulder: "Don't look, let's go. Let's see what the South American sea looks like."
When they returned, the ceremony began, and a national flag was slowly lowered. The special forces soldiers who chose to give up realized the weight of honor and wept loudly, hugging the flag.
Yang Hui's protagonist syndrome flared up again, deeply moved. He said to Anyang and Hu Xiaolong with deep emotion: "Anyang, Xiaolong, for our national flag, we must strive."
In the evening, there was a brutal physical challenge, where a group of people had to stand on a wall over two meters high and withstand high-pressure water guns. The special forces soldiers had to use their strength to stay, and being knocked down would result in injury.
Anyang's strength was greater, and he stood between Yang Hui and Hu Xiaolong. Whenever they were about to fall, he gritted his teeth and held them.
By the end of the day, his muscles ached to the extreme, his feet were white from the water, and after a day of arduous training, he hadn't even eaten a corn cake, feeling hungry and uncomfortable.
Anyang looked forward to resting early because his personal space contained many high-calorie foods, enough to cope with everything.
In the evening, he quietly gave Hu Xiaolong and Yang Hui a Snickers bar, avoiding the original plot where Hu Xiaolong accepted Rosini's corn cake and was falsely accused. He then collected the Snickers wrappers from Yang Hui and Hu Xiaolong, as the 2015 production date could not be exposed.
The training at the Hunter School was truly perverse, both physically and psychologically, such as forcing everyone to eat a large piece of raw wild beef.
Anyang was not a special forces soldier and had little chance of executing special missions in the future, so he didn't need to endure such disgusting tasks. Therefore, when the beef reached his mouth, he put it into his personal space.
Thus, he was the first to finish.
The Crocodile instructor looked at him with increasing satisfaction.
The next day, hand-to-hand combat training began, using a training method that was unscientific but highly practical—letting everyone find opponents in a mud pit and fight.
Here, Anyang's performance was particularly outstanding. With double the speed and strength of a normal person, and with intermediate-level combat proficiency, he had no problem fighting these special forces soldiers.
"Bang."
A punch was thrown, and another special forces soldier was knocked down. This was his third opponent.
Anyang stopped to catch his breath and saw Yang Hui struggling to knock down his opponent. Despite being covered in mud, he smiled.
Yang Hui also smiled at him. He had a good impression of this teammate. Although he didn't often communicate with Anyang and Hu Xiaolong, they always stuck together during training, especially the secret meal they shared on the first night.
Suddenly, a tall special forces soldier charged over and punched Yang Hui, knocking him to the ground before he could react.
Anyang was taken aback. These days, due to his influence, Rosini rarely opposed the two Chinese special forces soldiers as much as in the original plot. However, this part of the plot did not change at all.
Rosini stepped back two steps, a挑衅ive smile on his face. "Chinese people are no good, ha ha. Do you want to try? I'm the best, ha ha. What do you think?"
Hu Xiaolong rushed over to help Yang Hui up.
Rosini raised his hands high, standing in the center of the group, and said arrogantly, "Who else wants to try? Come on, ha ha, come on!"
Hu Xiaolong and Yang Hui exchanged a few words and were about to beat up Rosini when Anyang strode forward, unbuttoning his camouflage uniform to reveal his muscular body.
A commotion arose around them, and Rosini turned to see Anyang.
"Anyang, do you want to play with me?"
Anyang raised his head slightly to look at Rosini. Although he was not short, he was even a bit taller than Yang Hui, but he was still shorter than the foreign special forces soldiers.
"No, I just want to beat you up and show you what Chinese people are made of!"
Rosini was taken aback, then burst into laughter. "Come on, I'll make you die a miserable death, ha ha."
Anyang took a step forward in silence, his muscles bulging, becoming as hard as steel, which made the heroine Lina's eyes shine.
"Another small guy, come on, a big guy..."
As Rosini was being arrogant, Anyang's foot already kicked him in the stomach. He didn't even see it coming, and the immense force knocked him to the ground.
"Bang."
Cheers and jeers rose around them. The Crocodile instructor raised his telescope, his eyes fixed on the scene.
"Fight, good, fight, beat him up..."
Anyang did not give up, changing direction and moving swiftly. As Rosini tried to get up, Anyang kicked him again, sending him to the ground.
"Do you still dare to say Chinese people are no good!"
Rosini tried to pull him down with a sudden burst of strength but couldn't even touch his body. His strength was useless, and he could only take the beating passively.
After a few more hits, he couldn't stand up.
Anyang picked up his clothes from the ground and put them on without a word.
Yang Hui and Hu Xiaolong immediately came over, raising their hands in a high-five. "Anyang, well done."
Lina was also cheering from the side.
...
About two months later, the special forces at the Hunter School began their first real combat mission, targeting drug trafficking organizations in the Amazon River basin.
Anyang only participated in the initial charge, barely killing a drug trafficker. Then, he found a secluded spot, took out his M200 sniper rifle, and began long-range sniping of the drug traffickers.
With his previous experience in killing and the military proficiency brought by his skills, he had developed a strong resistance to killing, at least no longer vomiting.
Now, his marksmanship was excellent, especially with the M200 sniper rifle, almost every shot was fatal.
The drug traffickers fell one after another, and the area was surrounded by special forces from various countries. They quickly got into their vehicles, trying to escape with the drugs.
Yang Hui fully utilized his protagonist's aura, leaping from the second floor onto a truck carrying drugs. Before he could react, the drug traffickers on the roof of the truck had already aimed their guns at him.
According to the original plot, this was the perfect time for a close-quarters fight with the drug traffickers, and he was prepared for it. However, he only heard a "bang," and the enemy in front of him fell.
"We don't have a sniper, could it be the enemy, and they made a mistake?"
Yang Hui thought, immediately jumping off the truck and finding cover.
Anyang's heart rate increased slightly, but it was excitement, not tension. His eyes narrowed, and he moved the crosshairs to the truck driver, pulling the trigger.
"Whiz."
"Bang."
The truck's front windshield shattered instantly, and a large bloodstain appeared on the driver's chest. A special forces soldier raised his gun, but the passenger's head exploded, and the vehicle crashed into a tree and stopped.
The remaining special forces soldiers stood there, at a loss, until a companion pulled him, and he reacted.
"Hey, buddy, your marksmanship is pretty good."
"No, it wasn't me, it was a sniper, there's a sniper!"
Thus, the special forces soldiers realized that enemies around them were being shot through the chest silently, with the bullets' power being astonishing, often shattering the entire chest, something the small-caliber M16 could not do.
"Where did the sniper come from!"
