"From what I understand, the two of you are already aware of the general situation. Wang Shanshan's condition will only get worse. As an outsider, I suggest that the two of you... have a child."

Yang Jian spoke.

The car stopped in a bustling area of the city.

A few people got out of the car and sat on the chairs nearby, discussing what had happened earlier.

"How can you say such a thing?" Wang Haiyan said, somewhat angry: "Isn't there still a way to remove that mark?"

"Compared to the two options, they are almost the same. Removing the mark and replacing it with another one will ultimately lead to the same result," Yang Jian said. "My words may be harsh, but they are the truth. Uncle Wang, what do you think?"

Wang Bin frowned, smoking a cigarette. As the head of the family, he was at a loss and felt very troubled, his face full of worry.

He understood what Yang Jian meant.

If the mark is not removed, the ghost baby will continue to follow Shanshan. Removing the mark requires replacing it with another one, which will not change the final outcome, only delaying it a bit.

"Dad, Mom, it's okay. I can't be saved, so let me face the ghost baby alone. I can't drag you down because of my own problems," Wang Shanshan said, tears streaming down her face.

After knowing this outcome, she was no longer as afraid.

Wang Haiyan, as a mother, was heartbroken and cried uncontrollably. The mother and daughter hugged and cried in front of passersby.

"No, no, how can I watch my own daughter be tormented to death by that thing?" Wang Bin threw away his cigarette, stood up, and seemed to have made a decision: "Classmate, if I agree to Shanshan getting another mark, can you do it?"

Yang Jian said, "There is a way, but the result won't be any better. It will only delay the time of death. There's a saying, 'drinking poison to quench thirst,' which is about the same."

"If the mark is not removed, Shanshan won't last more than three days, right?" Wang Bin asked.

"No, she won't even last a day. Before, Shanshan wasn't attacked because the mark on her hand hadn't disappeared, so the ghost baby didn't attack her. But now that the mark is gone, the ghost baby will likely come back within an hour... or even sooner," Yang Jian said.

"What if the mark is removed?" Wang Bin asked.

"Living and dying together with the ghost controller, she might have a few months to live. The situation would be better, but the outcome would still be the same... and I can't guarantee there won't be other side effects," Yang Jian said.

"Even if it's poison, we have to take it. We can't give up even a slim chance," Wang Bin said, gritting his teeth. "Classmate, I want to ask for your help. I'll pay you, whatever the price."

Yang Jian looked at Wang Shanshan and her mother, Wang Haiyan, hugging and crying, and said, "This isn't a supernatural event or a battle with a ghost, so there's no risk... considering how straightforward Uncle Wang was before, I'll do this for free, but I can't guarantee what will happen to Shanshan afterward."

"Thank you, that's enough. I'll take responsibility for all the consequences, even if something happens to Shanshan later, I won't blame you," Wang Bin said, taking a deep breath.

This decisiveness and courage indeed had the qualities of a successful person, unlike Wang Haiyan's fussing and worrying.

"Since that's the case, let's start now. I'm afraid the ghost baby is already on its way," Yang Jian said.

Wang Bin said, "Shanshan, come here."

Wang Shanshan lifted her head, her eyes red and swollen from crying, and looked at Wang Bin and Yang Jian with tears streaming down her face.

"Wang Shanshan, if you've decided, give me your hand," Yang Jian said.

"Go, we'll deal with the future when it comes. Let's get through this crisis first," Wang Bin said, still looking worried. He didn't know if today's decision would harm or save his daughter.

"Yang Jian, thank you," Wang Shanshan said, biting her lip and extending her hand.

She wanted to live and didn't want to die, especially not to such a terrifying thing.

"We're classmates, and besides, I've been paid," Yang Jian said, grabbing her wrist as he did before in school.

"Take off the bandage on your neck, I need to see the mark."

Wang Haiyan said nothing, carefully removing the bandage.

On the young girl's delicate neck, the skin was torn and red, with medicine applied. In the center of the wound, two dark blue handprints were clearly visible.

Yang Jian's eyes flickered. He recalled his previous actions, grabbing Wang Shanshan's palm, which split open, revealing an eye.

The eye emitted a faint red light, which seeped through his fingers and began to invade Wang Shanshan's wrist.

It was the same spot as before.

As the red light invaded, Yang Jian saw the dark blue handprints on her neck gradually fade, becoming lighter... and eventually fading away on their own.

"It's working," Wang Bin said, eyes wide, witnessing this miraculous scene.

Of course, it was working.

Yang Jian felt the presence of the ghost eye in Wang Shanshan's body, as if an eye had transferred into her body, but it wasn't exactly that... more accurately, a part of the ghost's power had remained in Wang Shanshan's body.

After a moment,

The two dark blue handprints on Wang Shanshan's neck completely disappeared...

Seeing this,

Yang Jian released her hand.

He saw a clear ghost eye mark on her wrist, like a red eye tattoo, particularly noticeable, faintly emitting a red glow.

"Gone, really gone, the handprints are gone."

"How do you feel now, Shanshan? Is everything okay?"

Wang Bin and his wife were somewhat excited.

Wang Shanshan felt and said, "I don't feel anything wrong, I feel good... a bit strange, but I can't explain it. Overall, I feel much better." She glanced at the eye beside her.

Her eyes were different from usual, but she couldn't quite describe it.

"That's great," Wang Haiyan said, hugging her excitedly.

Yang Jian also felt the changes in his body.

There were no major changes, just a bit of fatigue, like after a workout.

"Only those who can control the ghost realm have the right to have ghost slaves. I wonder how a human ghost slave differs from a ghost's ghost slave. Wang Shanshan won't be like a normal person, but we can only observe and discover the changes later," Yang Jian thought to himself.

And just as he removed the mark,

On a street not far from here, a small child with a blue-black body ran at an eerie speed, quickly heading towards Wang Shanshan's location.

"Did you see a strange child running that way just now?" someone on the street asked, surprised.

His companion said, "What child? You must be seeing things."

But the ghost baby suddenly stopped before it ran much further.

The mark was gone, and it lost its clear target.

Without a primary target, it would randomly choose passersby on the street and start indiscriminate killings.

"Damn, what did I bump into?"

At this moment, a young man passing by, distracted by his phone, accidentally bumped into the ghost baby and nearly fell.

But when he turned back, he saw nothing.

However, when he turned around to continue walking, he was stunned.

A naked, blue-black child stood in front of him, tilting its head and looking at him with an eerie expression.

The young man gave the ghost baby a strange look, feeling that something was off with the child. It might be a homeless child or mentally unstable. He didn't want to provoke such a child, so he walked around and continued.

But he didn't walk far.

The ghost baby moved.

It turned around, not continuing towards Wang Shanshan, but instead followed the young man...

The terror continued, just with a different target.
