- "Summer Wardrobe" Ryu Yeonwoo got two questions wrong on the college entrance exam, ascending to the top of the class.
- Rising star also excels in studies? Ryu Yeonwoo's college entrance exam score becomes a hot topic.
- Is an actor who qualifies for regular admission to Korea University about to be born? What is Ryu Yeonwoo's college entrance exam grade?
Seongsik shows his phone to Yeonwoo.
"Hmm. Journalists have amazing information gathering skills."
"Hey, you're talking like it's someone else's business."
Seongsik is flabbergasted at Yeonwoo, who speaks calmly as if it's someone else's matter.
However, after observing Yeonwoo's reaction, Junsu nods.
"It's not a bad thing, it's a very good thing, isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is."
Seongsik agrees with Junsu.
"But, it seems there's an informant among the school teachers. How did they get this information so quickly?"
In the "Summer Wardrobe" team, it was already known that Yeonwoo was good at studying, but no one knew his grades were this high, and it had never been reported or become a topic of discussion.
Debuting as a surprise in "Summer Wardrobe" and becoming a rising star, Ryu Yeonwoo had a half-year break from activities other than follow-up variety shows, so the sudden influx of articles was enough to heat up his fan cafe and the internet.
- Madde (wtg050***): Wow, such a perfect son-in-law does exist.
- Eunghoee (mwlsd***): At this level, it seems like God poured talent into him.
- Hana (answl***): Ryu Yeonwoo is undoubtedly a perfect material.
└ WellBarkingDog (dae3***): Why is he material? He's a person.
└ ExplanationBug (cha03***): Everything with mass is material. Material is accompanied by... (read more)
"Phew, it's a mess. A real mess."
Junsu shakes his head while looking at the internet reactions.
"Amazing. To think this person is my friend."
They've been friends for two years now, and Yeonwoo chuckles at Seongsik's sudden comment.
"Yeonwoo, are you going to start working on projects again? You'll move to Seoul, right?"
"Yeah. You guys will be going to college in Seoul, right?"
Junsu and Seongsik nod.
"Of course. I'll apply to Yeonhwa University first, and if that doesn't work out, I'll go to another university in Seoul."
"You'll get in. Don't worry."
Yeonwoo pats Junsu and Seongsik on the back.
"I'll be staying in the agency-provided apartment for a while, but I'll visit often during college life."
"Of course!"
After that, Yeonwoo attended school for a week and then returned to Seoul.
He reviewed the storyboards of pending advertising requests and, after consulting with the company, accepted a few that matched his image and prepared for the shoots.
The "Ryu Yeonwoo" brand value, which had been fading in the industry due to the loss of one-off endorsements from "Summer Wardrobe," surged again due to the recent college entrance exam issue.
A bold and confident MZ generation image, pursuing dreams while handling responsibilities, perfectly met the current industry's needs.
"Hmm, from a condition and image perspective, these two seem to be the best options, don't you think?"
Team leader Jung's statement is met with nods from the marketing team members and Ryu Yeonwoo.
"Coincidentally, it's the same telecommunications company I currently use, and the outdoor brand is one my family often wears."
"Ah, that's perfect then."
Yeonwoo's comment makes Team Leader Jung smile.
The two ads chosen by Yeonwoo and the company after careful consideration are a telecommunications company and an outdoor brand.
With no current schedule, Yeonwoo set the ad shoot dates according to the ad agency's schedule and received the storyboards.
The first shoot is for ST Telecom, combined with the main model of a newly launched smartphone.
All scenes are shot on a set and blue screen, and the storyboard showed a trendy image, which felt targeted at Yeonwoo when he saw the storyboard.
Swoosh.
The door of the car in the office apartment parking lot opens, and Yeonwoo gets in.
"Hyung Minsoo! This is the start of my official first schedule."
"Hahaha. I'm excited, already."
Other manager colleagues envied Minsoo for handling a minor actor, calling it a "sweet deal," but Minsoo prefers being on set.
Next month, the actor Minsoo handles, Ryu Yeonwoo, will turn 20, and the actor himself is enthusiastic about the schedule.
Minsoo's car heads to the production studio in Pangyo and arrives in front of a large set.
"Welcome. I'll guide you."
"Ah, yes. Nice to meet you."
A staff member with a cap and a rolled-up paper bundle runs over to greet Yeonwoo.
Yeonwoo and Minsoo get out of the car and follow the staff member into the set.
A man approaches, having just entered the set after directing from a distance.
Director Lee Yongsoo, known for his rugged build and a distinctive beard connected to his sideburns.
Yeonwoo doesn't know much about the advertising industry, but he learned from Minsoo that Lee Yongsoo is a seasoned director.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Ryu Yeonwoo. I'm Lee Yongsoo."
Lee Yongsoo offers a handshake somewhat dryly.
Yeonwoo smiles brightly, shakes Lee Yongsoo's hand with both hands, and bows.
"Hello, Director. I hope we have a good day today. I'm Ryu Yeonwoo."
Lee Yongsoo, who often sees disrespectful or arrogant behavior, nods slightly at the clear smile and cheerful greeting.
Director Lee, who doesn't like young actors or one-hit wonders, finds the first impression of today's actor to be good.
"You seem strong and capable. My daughter is a fan."
"Ah, really? It's my first time shooting an ad, so I'll learn a lot today."
The first meeting starts with a smile, and Director Lee tries to lighten the mood by mentioning his daughter, even though he hasn't said she's a fan, thinking that as a rising star, his daughter must like him.
"Everyone, attention. Our star today is actor Ryu Yeonwoo. Applause!"
The director introduces Yeonwoo to the surrounding staff, and applause breaks out.
Whoo—.
Wow!
The director and the skilled production team work to create a lively atmosphere to boost the energy on set.
"Thank you."
Yeonwoo bows to the surrounding staff.
"As you've seen from the storyboard, our schedule today is tight, so it's best to start right away to finish before the deadline... "
"Ah, yes. Of course."
Lee Yongsoo calls a staff member to guide Yeonwoo to the makeup room.
After the makeup, Yeonwoo changes into white jeans, a clean blue shirt, and a dandy freshman look before entering the set.
Director Lee Yongsoo explains while looking at the storyboard.
"Okay, the actor will sit over there, stretch, and pick up the smartphone. Then, we'll pull you up with wires. After that... "
Yeonwoo nods, visualizing the actions in his mind after listening to the director's explanation.
"Yes, I'll do my best."
Yeonwoo greets the waiting extras with a nod and stands in front of the prepared desk.
"Okay, let's connect the actor."
Staff members approach and attach wires to various parts of Yeonwoo's body.
This scene is set in a university lecture hall, where Yeonwoo, who is studying, picks up a smartphone, and his body rises into the air, lying down just before the environment changes with CG.
"Okay, we'll shoot the tight and close shots separately, so let's start with the full shot. Be careful not to get your legs tangled in the desk when you rise. Ready, action!"
Yeonwoo writes in a workbook with a prepared pen, then naturally stretches and picks up the smartphone.
"Cut! Yeonwoo, face the camera a bit more. Okay, let's continue."
Following the director's instructions, Yeonwoo stretches and naturally turns his face toward the camera, then picks up the smartphone on the desk.
"Pull the legs up first!"
Staff members pull the wires connected to the ceiling.
Yeonwoo's body slowly rises.
"Surrounding students, look surprised and watch. Good."
Yeonwoo floats about two meters in the air, lying down and naturally bending his legs slightly, using his abs to maintain the position.
"Wow, nice! Hold it a bit longer."
The director is delighted as Yeonwoo holds the position naturally as he had imagined.
"Okay, cut! Lower the wires slowly. Be careful!"
Yeonwoo is slowly lowered, and the staff members carefully catch him.
The director approaches Yeonwoo.
"Wow, Yeonwoo, you're quite strong. It looked very natural. Your posture was excellent."
"Thank you."
Yeonwoo's well-trained body from daily exercise can easily handle this.
Yeonwoo, who received high-intensity training during his service, is confident in his ability to control his body.
"We need to shoot a tight shot again. Can you do it like just now?"
"Of course."
The director yells "Okay" and starts shooting again.
The polycam moves in to capture Yeonwoo's upper body as he maintains his posture with his upper body muscles and smiles confidently.
"Very good. Okay, cut!"
The director claps and gives the okay sign as Yeonwoo's body is slowly lowered again.
"Great. Let's move on to the next scene. Yeonwoo and the extras, change your outfits."
"Sure."
The staff members remove the wires, and Yeonwoo changes into the prepared outfit in the costume room as directed.
This time, the concept is the opposite of the previous scene: black jeans and a leather jacket.
The makeup team approaches and draws a more intense eyeliner, transforming Yeonwoo into a strong, cool guy.
The staff members are impressed as Yeonwoo enters the set.
"Wow, I see why he's popular."
"He looked good before, but this vibe suits him perfectly."
The director approaches the murmuring staff members and explains the next scene.
"This is the scene that follows the CG processing from the previous one. After landing on the ground, you'll hand the phone to an extra, and we'll follow the path of the handover... "
Yeonwoo nods, having already understood the content from the storyboard.
"Yes, Director."
Yeonwoo checks the path with the extras again, and a staff member demonstrates the rehearsal.
"Okay, let's start the shoot."
The camera operator, like in an idol performance, waits in front of Yeonwoo with a camera attached to a gimbal.
"Action!"
