Chapter 89

《Little Actors》 is about to be broadcast.

This series only has 8 episodes, each 25 minutes long, and they have already filmed up to the 4th episode.

The production company has decided to adopt a shoot-and-broadcast model, airing one episode per week. There is no rush in terms of time, and it is completely feasible.

The broadcast time for 《Little Actors》 has been set for September 25th, Friday at 12:00 PM.

The broadcast platform is the production company's own video website, and they do not plan to release it on other platforms for now. Since the series has little recognition and the format is unprecedented, other video websites are unlikely to offer a satisfactory price. It would be better to air it on their own platform first. If the response is good, they can then seek third-party platforms and negotiate a better price.

Just as the time was confirmed, Zhang Tan immediately received a message that 《Chief Jin》 is also set to be broadcast on the same day.

《Chief Jin》 is also not fully completed and is adopting a shoot-and-broadcast model.

The news was conveyed by Gao Xiaolan over the phone, directly to Zhang Tan's mobile.

"Find an opportunity to tell Director Zhang," Gao Xiaolan said over the phone.

"Okay."

Zhang Tan looked at Zhang Tongshun, who was directing the shoot from a distance, and decided to wait until the day's filming was done before mentioning it, to avoid affecting the shooting progress.

In the evening, as the crew wrapped up and went home, Zhang Tan lingered behind and found Zhang Tongshun to discuss the matter.

Zhang Tongshun immediately flew into a rage, cursing Wang Yifan's relatives and threatening to make him eat dirt.

Zhang Tan also felt that Wang Yifan was being unreasonable, with a very narrow mind.

Zhang Tongshun had already been kicked out, yet Wang Yifan still wanted to finish him off.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Yifan had already tried this tactic, and now he was at it again, determined to outshine 《Little Actors》.

He didn't even consider that 《Chief Jin》 had already aired two seasons and had a fan base, while 《Little Actors》 was a newcomer, and the two were not comparable.

Is it interesting? Is it interesting?

Well, it is very interesting.

Zhang Tan comforted Zhang Tongshun: "Director Zhang, calm down. Don't stoop to his level. Who wins and who loses, no one knows until the end. We might just end up on top."

Zhang Tongshun wanted to echo with some tough words, but he lacked confidence that 《Little Actors》 could outshine 《Chief Jin》. He was unsure, not just because the audience for 《Little Actors》 was narrow, but also because it was unknown whether a children's drama would be popular in the market.

As they left, they saw the 《Chief Jin》 crew still working late into the night. An SUV drove up from the opposite direction, and the window was rolled down halfway, revealing a handsome man inside.

Zhang Tan recognized him as an actor, a celebrity.

The man drove straight into the 《Chief Jin》 set, and Wang Yifan came out with a beaming smile to greet him.

It was clear that this was a guest star.

In the first two seasons of 《Chief Jin》, many celebrities had guest appearances, and this season was even more ambitious, with a celebrity guest in every episode, which was used as a selling point in the promotion.

Zhang Tongshun, who was driving, also saw this and said, "They are reportedly inviting the lead actors from the neighboring 《Dian Jiang Chun》."

Zhang Tan was taken aback and asked, "Su Lan?"

Zhang Tongshun: "I'm not sure who specifically, but if they are inviting, they won't miss Su Lan. It's such a good opportunity."

Zhang Tan looked out the car window, lost in thought.

Friday arrived, and at 12:00 PM, 《Little Actors: Grandma Liu Visits the Grand View Garden》 was released, along with 《Chief Jin》, without any promotion.

Zhang Tongshun was busy filming and had no time to pay attention to the data, but Zhang Tan, with nothing to do, couldn't help but check his phone from time to time to see the views and comments...

There were very few.

Meanwhile, the data for 《Chief Jin》 was rapidly increasing, almost from the start, leaving 《Little Actors》 far behind.

The more he looked, the more frustrated he became, and Zhang Tan put his phone away.

In the evening, back at the school, he saw Xiao Bai playing house.

Since her guest appearance as a little maid, the child had become particularly enthusiastic about playing house, insisting on playing this game every night.

This child was strange; she didn't like playing the princess, but loved playing the maid.

Perhaps the feeling of standing guard was very enjoyable.

Zhang Tan called her over and took her to his house to watch 《Little Actors》.

Xiao Bai not only came herself but also called over Liumu, Chengcheng, Xiaomi, and Xiaoxi.

Except for Xiaoxi, the other children were familiar with Zhang Tan's house, having visited several times.

The children sat on the sofa, a row of little heads, all looking up at the big screen on the wall, waiting for the show that Xiao Bai and Liumu had filmed.

Zhang Tan found it amusing and deliberately lowered the projector, so the children all lowered their heads to follow the screen.

He then raised the projector, and the children raised their heads again.

Xiao Bai gave him a strange look, wondering what he was up to, playing with the children.

"Okay, let's start."

Zhang Tan clicked to play the first episode of 《Little Actors: Grandma Liu Visits the Grand View Garden》, and he moved a chair to sit next to the sofa. This was the first time he was watching the complete episode.

During the playback, Zhang Tan occasionally observed the five little girls to see their reactions.

They didn't disappoint; the little girls were engrossed, their eyes shining, and even the restless Liumu didn't move. This showed that 《Little Actors》 was very appealing to them.

Shen Liumu excitedly shouted that she was about to appear, but she didn't see herself until the end, and she was almost in tears, hugging Zhang Tan's leg and asking if the director was just playing with her, as she had done so well.

Zhang Tan, torn between laughter and tears, comforted her, explaining that she was in the third episode, and this was only the first.

The five little girls, upon hearing this, immediately huddled together, whispering.

Finally, Xiao Bai, counting on her fingers, said, "Mr. Zhang, let's watch the third episode."

Zhang Tan: "There's only the first episode now. The third episode will be available after some time."

The little girls huddled together again, whispering like a group of little sparrows.

He brought some fruit and placed it on the coffee table.

"Come and have some fruit."

This time, the bold Liumu spoke up.

"No! Hmph, (╯^╰) We won't eat if you don't let us watch TV. We're leaving!"

With that, a group of children jumped off the sofa and left together.

Zhang Tan, torn between laughter and tears, watched them go.

Shen Liumu, who was the first to jump off the sofa, was the last to leave. As she passed the coffee table, she quickly grabbed a handful of cherry tomatoes and giggled.

Seeing that they were serious, Zhang Tan quickly said, "Although we can't see Xiao Bai and Liumu right now, we can see Fengcheche and Jia Laolian. Xiao Bai~~~"

Fengcheche and Jia Laolian were Xiao Bai's favorite characters, and she laughed every time she saw them. Hearing this, her resolve wavered.

"This isn't good~~~"

A few minutes later, Zhang Tan was sitting alone on a single sofa, a laptop on his knees, browsing the comments on 《Little Actors》, occasionally glancing at the little girls in the living room.

They ultimately decided to stay and give Mr. Zhang another chance.

Xiao Bai was distributing the cherry tomatoes, happily shouting, "Sit in a row, eat the fruit, one for you, one for me..."

---

On Monday morning, at the Pujian Film Studio.

Since joining the production team, Zhang Tan rarely came to the company, going directly to the set every day.

On the way, he encountered many colleagues who looked at him strangely, whispering to each other after greeting him.

"Boss~~~" Jiang Rong appeared, "Don't be discouraged, it's only the first episode."

Zhang Tan smiled, "Do I look like someone who gets easily discouraged?"

He knew why everyone looked at him strangely; it was because the first episode of 《Little Actors》 had very low views.

Everyone also knew that 《Chief Jin》 was intentionally competing with 《Little Actors》, and based on the current situation, 《Little Actors》 was about to be crushed.

Jiang Rong was indignant about 《Chief Jin》's malicious intentions.

Zhang Tan: "I'll talk to you later, I have to go to a meeting."

Jiang Rong's face changed, and she asked, "Is it the department morning meeting chaired by Director Zhu?"

Zhang Tan nodded, "Yes."

Jiang Rong looked around and asked, "Are you going alone? Is Director Zhang not coming?"

Zhang Tan: "Director Zhang is filming at the set and can't come."

Jiang Rong was very worried, "That's not fair, they're putting you on the front line."

With such poor views, Zhang Tan would definitely not get a good reception at the morning meeting chaired by the director, and might even be criticized.

Zhang Tan: "It's fine. As you said, it's only the first episode, and I'm not the only one attending; the producer will also be there. I have to go, or I'll be late."

"Bye~~" Jiang Rong watched Zhang Tan leave, worried.
