Before entering the game, Ye Luo had done a lot of preparation, such as cramming various game knowledge. Although he hadn't fully understood everything, he was no longer a complete novice. He also knew that strength, agility, constitution, and intelligence were the basic attributes of many game characters, but he had never heard of Battle Soul, Martial Soul, and Blood Soul, so he asked in detail.

"The Descenders descend upon the Sky Calamity Continent, blessed by fate, with soul crystals to help them resist calamities." The white-clad figure explained in detail: "Descenders can choose from four racial physiques: Human, Demon, Spirit, and Soul. These four races respectively form Battle Soul, Blood Soul, Martial Soul, and Law Soul crystals..."

After listening to the white-clad figure, Ye Luo understood that the four races, due to their different physiques, could form different soul crystals. The Human race's Battle Soul crystal leans towards strength, the Demon race's Blood Soul crystal leans towards constitution, the Spirit race's Martial Soul crystal leans towards agility, and the Soul race's Law Soul crystal leans towards intelligence, corresponding to the four basic attributes.

Apart from the initial attributes being the same, the growth of the four soul crystals is different. In the early stages of the game, each time a game character levels up, the Battle Soul crystal adds 1 point to strength, the Blood Soul crystal adds 1 point to constitution, the Martial Soul crystal adds 1 point to agility, and the Law Soul crystal adds 1 point to intelligence.

This is still the early stage of the game. As the character progresses, the differences between the four soul crystals will become even greater.

Ye Luo carefully examined the initial growth potential of the four soul crystals, as follows:

Battle Soul Crystal:

【Strength】: 2 stars

【Agility】: 1 star

【Constitution】: 1 star

【Intelligence】: 1 star

Martial Soul Crystal:

【Strength】: 1 star

【Agility】: 2 stars

【Constitution】: 1 star

【Intelligence】: 1 star

Blood Soul Crystal:

【Strength】: 1 star

【Agility】: 1 star

【Constitution】: 2 stars

【Intelligence】: 1 star

Law Soul Crystal:

【Strength】: 1 star

【Agility】: 1 star

【Constitution】: 1 star

【Intelligence】: 2 stars

The growth potential refers to the points that a game character gains with each level up. For example, a character who chooses the Battle Soul crystal will gain 2 points in strength, 1 point in agility, 1 point in constitution, and 1 point in intelligence with each level up before advancing to a higher class.

Ye Luo quickly memorized these details and then asked the white-clad figure about the characteristics of various classes, receiving a brief introduction:

Swordsmen and Berserkers are known for their powerful attacks and are suitable for choosing the Battle Soul crystal, which leans towards strength, i.e., the Human race.

Knights are known for their high health and defense and are suitable for choosing the Blood Soul crystal, which leans towards constitution, i.e., the Demon race.

Archers and Assassins are known for their agility and are suitable for choosing the Martial Soul crystal, which leans towards agility, i.e., the Spirit race.

Summoners, Mages, and Priests need strong magical attacks and mana to survive and are suitable for choosing the Law Soul crystal, which leans towards intelligence, i.e., the Soul race.

Fistfighters are quite balanced and can choose any soul crystal based on personal preference.

Of course, these are just suggestions from the white-clad figure. Many Berserkers choose races with high health, and some Swordsmen choose races with high agility, depending on personal understanding and preferences.

"The Warrior class has three races to choose from, which is quite complicated. The Mage class is much simpler; just choose the Soul race and the Law Soul crystal, as Mages are primarily based on intelligence." Ye Luo muttered to himself. Looking at the three choices before him, he made his decision after a moment: "I want to become a Swordsman, so I should choose the Battle Soul, which is the Human race."

"Yeluo Zhiqiu, are you sure?" the white-clad figure asked, reminding him: "Like the character name, once you choose a race and soul crystal, it is very difficult to change without special circumstances or special items. Please choose carefully."

"I am sure!"

"Yeluo Zhiqiu, Human Warrior, character created!"

As the white-clad figure spoke, Ye Luo floated up, and the virtual space around him rippled slightly. A small crystal slowly appeared and then fell towards him, clearly the Battle Soul crystal.

The crystal was shaped like two pyramids joined together, emitting a faint glow, grand and solemn.

As if it were nothing, the crystal entered Ye Luo's mind, and a strange aura flowed through his body.

If observed under a microscope, one would see that the soul crystal radiated thousands of extremely fine threads, which quickly extended and soon spread throughout his body, merging with his muscles and meridians.

With the soul crystal entering his mind, Ye Luo felt his strength increase and his body become more agile. He muttered to himself: "It seems the soul crystal is the source of power for every game character. This is quite interesting; other virtual games don't have this. Perhaps this is what makes this game unique."

"Yeluo Zhiqiu, now choose the method for assigning initial basic attributes." The white-clad figure paused and continued: "There are two methods: random generation and fixed assignment. Which one do you choose?"

At the beginning of the game, the four basic attributes are assigned, which is common in other games, so Ye Luo was not unfamiliar with this. However, after seeing the uniqueness of the "Sky Calamity" game, he became more cautious and asked: "What are the differences between these two methods?"

"Each game character has four basic attributes. The first method, random generation, assigns a random number from 1 to 10 to each of the four basic attributes. The second method, fixed assignment, assigns 5 points to each attribute. Which one do you choose?" the white-clad figure explained in detail.

"From 1 to 10 points, if you have good luck, you might get more than 5 points, but if you have bad luck, you might get less than 5 points. It all depends on luck." Ye Luo muttered, then laughed bitterly: "Is my luck good or bad? Meeting Sister Qiu was my luck, but now she... Which one should I choose?"

Seeing Ye Luo's silence, the white-clad figure continued: "Yeluo Zhiqiu, if you do not choose within 10 seconds, a hidden allocation method will be triggered: sacrificing some basic attribute points to undertake a Sky Calamity trial quest. If successful, you will receive unexpected benefits, such as a powerful hidden class or some relatively powerful weapons and equipment. Which method do you choose?"

"Huh, not choosing within 10 seconds triggers another method. Only 10 seconds, this is quite interesting." Ye Luo muttered, then pondered for a moment: "Yue'er said that hidden classes are much stronger than these basic classes. It's just a trial, and I believe in my strength. Although I will lose some attribute points, it's worth a try."

With this in mind, Ye Luo's expression turned serious, and he said: "I choose the third method."

"Yeluo Zhiqiu, you have chosen the third hidden attribute allocation method and will undertake the Sky Calamity trial quest. Now, attribute assignment begins. I wish you a great journey on the Sky Calamity Continent." The white-clad figure said, and the virtual space trembled slightly as he slowly disappeared.

As the white-clad figure's words faded, a faint glow fell and then merged into Ye Luo's body, specifically into the Battle Soul crystal in his mind. A surge of energy flowed through him, and he felt himself become stronger.

Ye Luo hurriedly checked his attributes, something he knew from other games. He mentally called up the character panel, and the information appeared in his mind:

Yeluo Zhiqiu (Apprentice Warrior)

Race: Human Battle Soul

Level: 0

Health: 110

Mana: 110

Physical Attack: 1—1

Magical Attack: 1—1

Defense: 1

Strength: 1 (Each point increases physical attack by 1, knockback by 1, and stun by 1)

Agility: 1 (Each point increases hit rate by 1, dodge rate by 1, and attack speed by 1)

Constitution: 1 (Each point increases health by 10, physical defense by 1, and health recovery rate by 0.1)

Intelligence: 1 (Each point increases mana by 10, physical defense by 1, and mana recovery rate by 0.1)

Luck: 0

After seeing his attribute panel, Ye Luo felt a mix of frustration and helplessness. He muttered: "This is what they call sacrificing some basic attributes? This is more than just a little. Out of ten thousand people, probably none would have such extreme attributes. I'm probably already behind most players."

Indeed, with all four basic attributes at 1 point, this is much worse than the fixed 5 points. The worst-case scenario for random generation from 1 to 10 points is exactly this. Such extreme attributes would make a person who wants revenge feel both sad and angry.

Although he felt sad and angry, Ye Luo knew the situation was what it was. After a brief vent, he returned to normal and began checking his inventory. He knew that every game would provide new player equipment, and he silently prayed for powerful new player equipment, otherwise, he might struggle in the early stages of the game.

However, he soon paused, as he did not find the inventory as he usually would in other games. He frowned: "Why is there no inventory? Without an inventory, I won't even have weapons. Do I have to rely on my fists to fight and level up?"

"It can't be like that. This game shouldn't be that extreme. After all, players need to carry many things and shouldn't have to fight monsters while holding health potions." Ye Luo quickly calmed down and muttered: "The official said this game is different. Maybe I just haven't found it."

With this in mind, Ye Luo began searching carefully. However, he found nothing on his body. He muttered: "Where is the inventory? Where is it..."

As he muttered the word "inventory," he felt his entire consciousness move, and he found himself in a virtual space. This space had twenty slots, two of which contained white light orbs. Upon closer inspection, they were an iron sword and a piece of clothing.

Without paying attention to whether the iron sword and clothing were powerful, Ye Luo realized: "So, I can enter the inventory just by thinking. No, this should be a virtual space. Only twenty slots, the system is really stingy."

"But where is this space?" Ye Luo muttered, then thought: "It must be in the soul crystal. After all, the soul crystal is the only unknown thing on my body."

With this in mind, Ye Luo withdrew his consciousness and probed the soul crystal in his mind. Upon closer inspection, he saw many slots on the upper half of the soul crystal. Ye Luo controlled his consciousness to probe one of the slots, and the words "Weapon" appeared in his mind. He probed another slot, and the words "Chest Armor" appeared.

Seeing this, Ye Luo thought for a moment. He then controlled his consciousness to probe the other slots and quickly found the "Inventory" slot. He entered it and found himself back in the previous space, where the two light orbs were in two of the slots.

"Oh, I see. This is quite interesting." Ye Luo realized, understanding the function of these slots.
