Wang Chong faintly sensed that in his sleeve, twelve talismans wrapped around a sword light as sharp as lightning, seemingly capable of cutting through anything, and exuding a vibrant vitality as if it were about to break free from the talisman's constraints.
The Primordial Yang Sword was already on the verge of becoming sentient. By taking the twelve talismans that Yin Dingxiu had imprinted on the green jade sword case, Wang Chong removed the last layer of restraint from this supreme treasure, effectively giving it a helping hand.
This sword had a naturally rebellious nature. As soon as it became sentient, it wanted to show off, announcing its birth to the world, and thus could not tolerate being suppressed by the talismans.
Especially since Wang Chong's own power was insufficient, his skills were shallow, and he could not wield Yin Dingxiu's twelve talismans with ease.
It moved slightly within the talisman's wrapping, suddenly emitting a series of clear and resonant whistles, like the sound of bells and chimes.
Wang Chong tried several sword seals, but none of them worked, and he immediately became anxious.
"Primordial Yang Sword has become sentient!"
"How could it become sentient at this time? This is terrible! The Primordial Yang Sword's whistles are so loud that the whole mountain will hear it, and it will certainly alarm the Emei Sect disciples. How can I hide it?"
The fact that the Primordial Yang Sword had become sentient was something to be celebrated, but it filled Wang Chong with fear and anxiety. His usually clever mind could not come up with a good plan.
The Primordial Yang Sword was personally forged by the ancestor Yin Dingxiu and was to be passed down to one of the four third-generation disciples of Emei, Xu Jingyang. If Emei discovered that Wang Chong had taken it, it would be a major issue. They wouldn't even need to question him; just seeing the sword would be enough to identify him as a thief.
Although the Primordial Yang Sword had not yet been revealed, Yin Dingxiu's will had already informed the Emei Sect of its existence.
The sword's light was like a large red-scaled dragon, blazing like fire, and there was no way it could be mistaken.
These were minor issues. Even if the Emei Sect knew that Wang Chong had taken the Primordial Yang Sword, they could simply take it back. But... he had also secretly learned the Emei Sect's Primordial Yang Sword Technique and twelve sword forms!
Stealing another sect's techniques was a major taboo among all the righteous and evil sects.
Moreover, if his true identity as a disciple of Tianxin Temple were to be discovered, it would be even worse.
Wang Chong felt that he was doomed. He had several thoughts of fleeing down the mountain, but his remaining rationality told him that this was not a viable plan.
The Emei Sect were all sword immortals. How could he escape with just his legs when they could fly on swords and ascend through the air?
"Primordial Yang Sword! Primordial Yang Sword! Why do you torment me?"
"After you are washed with One-Yuan Heavy Water by Xu Jingyang and lose your spirit, do you want to experience it again? You are a sentient being; don't you understand the principle of concealing your abilities? Why must you show off now? Your whistles will bring me so much trouble, and you will bring yourself so much trouble."
"Not everyone in the world admires you. Even among the Emei Sect's other celestial swords, who would want to be outshone by you? The seven Invisible Swords, Nanchi, Beili, the Five-Fire Seven-Bird Sword, the Nine-Heat Dragon-Capturing Sword, Biyuan, Jinjing, Taibai, Queyuan, and the four Thunderbolt Swords... all aspire to be the leader of Emei. Who would like another sword to surpass them? If you keep whistling, someone will come, seal you with talismans, and then refine you. If you resist, they will use even more powerful methods until you submit..."
Wang Chong was anxious and began to ramble to the Primordial Yang Sword in his sleeve, hoping to persuade it to stop causing trouble.
The Primordial Yang Sword seemed to understand, and its whistles gradually ceased.
Wang Chong had just relaxed, thinking the Primordial Yang Sword had finally calmed down, when he felt a movement in his sleeve. The Primordial Yang Sword broke through the twelve talismans and reappeared in the cave.
The sword light, like a red-scaled dragon, darted around playfully, performing various tricks, including a particularly annoying braid pattern.
Wang Chong tried several times to activate the twelve Primordial Yang talismans, but he could not control the celestial sword or retrieve it. He could only watch as it showed off.
The young man finally despaired. He even felt that the Primordial Yang Sword knew he was not an Emei disciple and was deliberately tormenting him.
At this thought, Wang Chong felt as if he had fallen into an ice pit, a chill rising from his feet to the top of his head. Despite his efforts to control himself, his body still trembled. He knew that infiltrating Emei under the guise of Tang Jingyu was extremely dangerous. Any slight mistake would mean certain death.
Previously, he had found an additional Yantian Pearl and thought his luck was good. He never expected that even with this mysterious treasure, he would still be discovered and possibly face the Emei Sect's hundred swords piercing the heart, a fate from which he could not escape.
The sword light was fierce, his eyebrows and clothes were red, but Wang Chong's face was as pale as snow.
Wang Chong faintly heard the sound of clothing fluttering in the wind outside the cave and sighed, ready to accept his fate.
However, the Primordial Yang Sword retracted its light and shot towards Wang Chong. He raised his hand to block it, expecting to be cut into seventeen or eighteen pieces. Given the sword's playful nature, it might even arrange the pieces in a pattern. But after a moment, Wang Chong felt no sword light around him; instead, something new appeared on his wrist.
A red bracelet spun around his wrist, emitting a faint firelight, clearly transformed from the Primordial Yang Sword.
Wang Chong stood there in a daze, unsure of the celestial sword's intentions.
With the Primordial Yang Sword no longer causing trouble, Wang Chong's mind became active again. He gritted his teeth and thought, "It seems I have to put on a show." He clenched his teeth, activated the Primordial Yang Sword, and gently twisted it, shattering his dagger and throwing it to the ground. He then transferred the Primordial Yang energy into the Heavenly Earth Aperture.
He did not transfer all his energy into the Heavenly Earth Aperture, leaving a small portion. He gritted his teeth and dispersed this last bit of energy, creating the appearance of having dissipated his powers.
The Primordial Yang energy was not the same as the demonic power Wang Chong originally cultivated, which was unrivaled in its dominance. Since he did not gradually dissolve it but forcibly dispersed it in one go, the backlash caused blood to seep from his five senses.
Wang Chong then punched his forehead fiercely several times, covering his face in blood. He let out a wild cry and collapsed to the ground.
After half an incense stick, several beams of light descended outside the stone cave where Wang Chong was staying. The leader was one of the four disciples, Ying Yang.
Ying Yang glanced at the stone cave where Wang Chong was staying, frowned slightly, and shouted, "Tang Jingyu! What are you doing? Why are you making such a commotion?"
Wang Chong勉强提气叫道:“快救我!快救我……”
Ying Yang made a protective seal and rushed into the cave. Seeing Wang Chong's pale face, covered in blood, and a shattered dagger beside him, he was slightly surprised and took a few steps forward.
