times he changed the wording of his questions, that was his only

answer. Realizing it was pointless, Tokimori stopped asking. Even if

he didn’t know the reason, if he loved him, that was good enough

for Tokimori. He believed Yato’s answer was the truth. He would never

betray Tokimori. Yato would definitely stick by his side until he

died.

No one spoke, making an atmosphere so tense even the

sound of their breathing could be heard clearly as they drove on for

over an hour until they arrived at the current main household.

Katsumoto accompanied them as they entered a different building than

the one used for the Summer Solstice Gathering. A woman in a suit

greeted them and led them to a room on the first floor. Tokimori

entered first, thinking he would have to wait for the head of the

household to make his appearance, but he was already in the room

waiting. He was standing even though there were chairs.

“My

apologies for making you wait. I’ve brought Tokimori-sama and

Yato-sama.”

Katsumoto was the first to lower his head and

report. Tokimori quickly did the same.

“Head of

Household, I, your relative, Tokimori, and the demon servant Yato

have come as requested.”

“There’s no need for greetings.

Lift your head.”

With his head still lowered, Tokimori

glanced at Katsumoto before slowly lifting his face.
