Chapter 32

I used my money to expand the town's fields in order to come up with some cash. The price of the fields after the fifth one increased tenfold, and buying adjacent fields incurred additional fees.

The fields increased to six, but after buying herbs and blue jelly, the remaining money dropped below ten thousand again.

"Ah, I put on a good show in front of Maggie, but now I'm broke again."

Buying weapons, new armor, and purchasing my own shop—there’s a long road ahead. Before that, to make accessories, I need to buy a higher-grade furnace, which costs 80,000 for one that can process steel, and 800,000 for an even higher grade.

"Can I do anything with the money I have left?"

I looked through my inventory. The accessories that had been tested to their limits and those meant for sale occupied a corner of it.

"Other than that, there are meats, the carapaces of poison bugs... Oh, right, I left the fossils alone."

A stone in a corner of my inventory. It was something I found during my adventure with Mew, which I had left untouched due to lack of funds.

"5000G per piece. If I take the potions to Maggie, I can get a decent amount of money, so maybe I should have them itemized. Where can I get them restored, again?"

I thought I should show them to an NPC like a geologist. If I don’t know, I can ask the town’s NPCs. I started wandering around the town.

I first asked an NPC in the central square, and apparently, there’s one in the north part of town. I asked for the exact location and headed there, but it turned out to be an antique shop.

"Hey, this is a shop for fossils, but of civilization?"

"Welcome, do you need something from my shop?"

A man wearing a wrinkled vest and with messy hair appeared, scratching his head roughly.

"Can you appraise fossils here?"

"Yeah, and we also deal in antiques. Sometimes you can find some good deals."

I looked around the shop, but the items seemed more like furniture and ornaments rather than combat-related, and some were marked as broken.

"Today, I just need an appraisal. Can you appraise this for me?"

"You’re not very talkative. Fine, how about the money?"

"Here."

I took the money out of my inventory and placed it next to the fossil.

"Alright, I’ll take it. Let me take a look."

He took a monocle from his vest pocket and examined the fossil through it. Seeing this, I thought about using the design of the monocle for my next accessory.

"I’ve appraised it. This is a seed."

"A seed? You mean the kind you plant in a field? That would be perfect for me."

"Are you a farmer? This is a Vitality Tree. It’s not rare."

"Really? I thought it was rare."

"It grows in remote areas and can be easily obtained in volcanic zones. Where did you find this fossil?"

"Nearby cave."

"Maybe it used to grow around here. So, what do you want to do? If you want to sell it, I can buy it for 100G."

"No, I’ll take it back. I want to plant it."

"It’s not rare, but once it’s rooted, it can produce five fruits a day. In the long run, that might be more profitable."

I took the seed of the Vitality Tree.

I wanted to rush back to the field and plant the seed, but unfortunately, I hadn’t done the necessary preparations. I shouted at the three new fields.

"Uooooo! I’ll do it!"

Under the blue sky, on the field, I scattered red and yellow light, showing off my human cultivator skills with the help of accessory enhancements. It was easier than before, but it still took a lot of time. I hadn’t even started preparing or raising funds to sell accessories.

However, I had a plan to produce Hyper Potions, MP Potions, antidotes, and paralysis cures.
