Chapter 15

Covering a distance of fifteen meters in mid-air, it doesn’t seem particularly impressive when taken alone.

However, a comparison makes it clear. Among the current disciples of the Elite Hall, the best score is fourteen and a half meters.

And this record was set by Ling Fei himself.

In other words, he broke his own record.

At this moment, everyone was shocked. Perhaps Ling Fei was average in other areas, but his lightness skill was truly the best in the Elite Hall.

“I can’t match you!”

Ling Yixue gently opened her lips and shook her head.

“Senior Sister, you’re too modest. I’m only good at lightness skill; the rest doesn’t meet your standards!”

Ling Fei said with a light laugh, his words humble, but his face full of excitement.

How could he not be happy to stand out in front of Ling Yixue?

“Senior Brother Ling Fei, can’t you slow down a bit and wait for us?”

“Hahaha, as long as everyone works hard, they can achieve it too. Next is the second event.”

For the second event, Ling Fei once again gave a great visual impact to everyone.

From a height of eighteen meters, he leaped up and then landed gracefully and steadily.

“Next is you, Ling Xiao. The speed competition requires two people, so you should complete the first two events first.”

After completing the first two events, Ling Fei looked at Ling Xiao and said with a light laugh.

At this moment, everyone’s attention finally focused on Ling Xiao, but their gazes were filled with disdain and a bit of pity.

It was as if they were pitying a beggar on the street.

No one believed that Ling Xiao’s lightness skill could surpass Ling Fei, including those who had been watching the show earlier.

“No need for your reminder.”

Ling Xiao smiled faintly and walked to the starting line.

If it were purely about lightness skill, he indeed wasn’t as good as Ling Fei, which was certain.

However, he had cultivated the "Explosive Qi Technique," which could nearly double the effect of his lightness skill in an instant.

Surpassing Ling Fei might not be a problem.

“Hmph, putting on a show!”

Seeing Ling Xiao stand at the starting line with a carefree attitude, everyone was a bit annoyed.

“Start!”

As Ling Yixue’s voice rang out, Ling Xiao also took off.

At the beginning, he didn’t use the Explosive Qi Technique, conserving his true qi as much as possible, since there were three events.

He didn’t need to be too astonishing; just surpassing Ling Fei would be enough.

“Hmm? This kid’s lightness skill isn’t bad. Although it’s not as graceful as Ling Fei’s, it’s still quite decent.”

Ling Yixue frowned slightly, genuinely surprised that Ling Xiao could master his movements so well in such a short time.

Around twelve meters, Ling Xiao’s body began to fall.

“Hahaha, he lost, he lost!”

“Told you, he can’t compare to Senior Brother Ling Fei!”

“But twelve meters isn’t bad, at least he didn’t embarrass himself too much!”

However, at this moment, Ling Xiao, who was about to land, suddenly seemed to be pushed by something, shooting out more than four meters before landing.

The scene fell silent, as if everyone had become mute.

“More than sixteen meters!”

Ling Yixue was the first to speak, her surprise turning into shock.

What had happened to this Ling Xiao? How could he have progressed so quickly?

“Did I see that right? Really more than sixteen meters?”

“It can’t be wrong, but what happened to this kid? He suddenly flew out several meters.”

“Cheating!”

Ling Fei suddenly shouted.

“It’s not cheating.”

Ling Yixue shook her head. “As a Ling family member, haven’t you heard of the ‘Explosive Qi Technique’? It’s in the library.”

Ling Fei had certainly heard of the Explosive Qi Technique, but the cultivation of secret techniques was always more difficult than cultivation methods, especially in terms of understanding.

He never thought Ling Xiao would actually learn it.

Ling Fei was不服气 (unwilling to admit defeat), but he had no choice, trembling with anger but forced to admit defeat.

“The second event, climbing the Heavenly Ladder!”

Ling Xiao’s movements were never as graceful and elegant as Ling Fei’s, but they were very practical.

Just like before, he used the Explosive Qi Technique when he felt he was about to fall.

Around twelve meters high.

He still shot up to twenty meters.

“The second event, Ling Xiao wins!”

In both the mid-air crossing and the Heavenly Ladder, he won!

This was simply shocking, and no one dared to say that Ling Xiao’s lightness skill was weak anymore.

Although his lightness skill wasn’t as visually appealing, it wasn’t weak.

“Do we need to compare the third event, Senior Brother Ling Fei?”

Ling Xiao looked at Ling Fei’s face, which had turned a pig liver color, and asked lightly.

“Compare! Why not compare! Speed is key in lightness skill!”

Ling Fei almost shouted these words.

“Is that so? I was going to give you some face, but now, let’s just end it. Why bother?”

Ling Xiao said.

“Don’t pretend to care. I don’t believe you can win the third event!”

Ling Fei was certain that Ling Xiao’s true qi must be completely depleted, and he couldn’t maintain the third event.

If he could easily win the third event, even if he lost the competition, he could still save some face and even humiliate Ling Xiao.

“But there should be some stakes, right? I’ve already won, so there’s no need to waste more time with you.”

Ling Xiao had invited a doctor to treat his grandfather, but they had been stuck here for almost half an hour.

If he didn’t get some benefit, he really didn’t want to continue.

“I agree! If you can still win, I’ll pay for all the silver needed for your grandfather’s treatment.”

Ling Fei had no choice but to say this; otherwise, if Ling Xiao refused to compare, he couldn’t force him, which would be even more embarrassing.

“I don’t need it; I have silver.”

If it were before, Ling Xiao might have agreed to such a condition, but now, he really didn’t care.

“What do you want then?” Ling Fei shouted.

“A breakthrough pill!”

Ling Xiao planned to at least break through to the third level of the martial pulse during the annual competition, and the breakthrough pill was essential.

“That’s too much!”

“Yeah, who would use a breakthrough pill as a stake?”

“But it’s not like that. After all, Ling Xiao has already won two out of three, so there’s no need for the third event.”

There were still some reasonable people, which gave Ling Xiao a bit of hope for the family.

“Not willing to give it? Fine then.”

Ling Xiao shrugged and was about to call the doctor to leave.

“Fine! I agree!”

Ling Fei shouted.

“Senior Brother Ling Fei, don’t be impulsive!”

“Yeah, Senior Brother Ling Fei, it’s not worth it!”

“Even you don’t believe in me anymore?” Ling Fei’s face was getting worse, as he could tell from the onlookers’ comments that their confidence in him had turned to distrust, indicating that he had really lost face.

So, the third event was even more necessary to save face.

“Senior Sister Ling Yixue, please be a witness. These people’s promises are like hot air; I can’t easily trust them.” Ling Xiao looked at Ling Yixue and said.

“Sure, if he doesn’t give it, I’ll give it.”

Ling Yixue, who had become very interested in Ling Xiao’s lightness skill, actually wanted to see more.
